This is probably the best coffee in the city. The only drawback is that they don’t enforce their«no dogs» policy which I personally find unhygienic. That keeps me away about a quarter of the time.

Caffe Umbria is very close to King Station and right next to the Jefferson & Occidental stop. As my first time in Seattle, I’ve been to 10+ coffee shops trying to explore the best coffee in town. I’ve avoided Starbucks coffee except from the Reserve, and realize how coffee in Seattle can be quite expensive($ 4 – 6 for 8oz latte). Caffe Umbria however it’s under $ 4 and it’s very tasty though not amazing. I was there for few hours waiting for my bus to Portland! Wifi was quite weak, but decent. The view towards Pioneer Square was great and my butter croissant too.

Good coffee. Decent variety of sweets. Location is pretty good. I’d be back again. Also doesn’t hurt that it’s next to London plane. If you don’t find what you need at one, walk on over to the other.

Usually my go to spot before work. Lattes are always consistently good, though they could be a bit stronger. Baristas are always nice and friendly. The breakfast sandwiches are good, and the pastries are usually ok. There have been times when I’ve ordered the cinnamon bread and it’s been stale. Or like today, it wasn’t sliced right so there’s only ¾ of a slice in my bag. Sounds silly, but at the same time, it’s not cheap. Still one of the better spots in the area for coffee.

One of my favorite coffee spots in Seattle. You can actually get a quality latte for under $ 4 here. I go here almost every morning, and they have never failed to deliver. I usually get a latte or a cappuccino, and they are always perfectly smooth and creamy. Their roast is strong and flavorful. The pastry case is always filled with goodies from Le Panier. Really good stuff to be had there. And I’ve been wanting to try the gelato for ages, but I always come in before 8 so the mature person inside me always says no.

Drip coffee they roast themselves and is good. Espresso is strong but not bitter. Good over all for a first visit. It got very busy while I sat there for a few.

With so many places to choose from, this place is not bad. A bit generic if you want to sit and relax. No option for here or to go, just a luck of the draw. Half of us are drinking from paper cups and the other half have cups and saucers. Perhaps the reason why it is not as busy as the other shops nearby. Clean and tidy. Great options of pastries and wibe if you wish to partake.

I’m in love with Caffe Umbria and this neighborhood. In my ideal world, I would start each day with a non-fat cappuccino from Caffe Umbria… except that I live in Capitol Hill, so that would not be practical at all. Caffe Umbria is super charming with plenty of natural light and a swanky, unpretentious feel to it. There’s plenty of seats and lots of space between the tables(YAY!). My cappuccino was perfect and at 2pm, the caffe was busy but still quiet enough that we could have a conversation without needing to speak louder to drown out the chatter around us. They also have gelato, sandwiches and a variety of fancy-ass tea(the kind you would have to drink with a raised pinky). I can’t wait to come back.

Great location and good coffee. The ladies that worked their engaged in some good conversations with my while I was waiting for my coffee. Made my experience well worth it! My mocha was amazing once it was all done.

Located in perhaps the prettiest part of Pioneer Square, right by the stadiums and a few really good restaurants and artsy boutiques, is this big, beautiful open space that has delicious coffee and other things. They even have Gelatiamo gelato! Mmmm, affogato… It’s nice to sit by the window to enjoy your eats and drinks along with the view of the world as it goes by. If it’s sunny, you can take it to the tables outside as well. If all the baristas were warmer and more personable, it’d easily get 5 stars!

This has become my go-to coffee shop ever since I started working in Pioneer Square. Their coffee is amazing and so is their gelato! Their flavors change daily, but they usually always have vanilla and cappuccino. I also recommend their pistachio flavor!

Cute, relaxed little coffee house in Pioneer Square, and clearly a local favorite. We dropped by here on a mini coffee/hot-chocolate walk around the area while waiting for lunch, although their bakery case was quite tempting. Not my favorite drink came from here, but it wasn’t bad, overall.

You know what they say; when in Seattle, drink coffee. Right? While exploring Pioneer Square, we decided it was time for our legs to rest and some coffee to recharge. Thanks to Unilocal,we found out about Caffe Umbria. LOCATION&AMBIANCE Very convenient in the epicenter of Pioneer Square. The venue is large and open, with a small patio outside that’s perfect for people watching. I don’t know if this was just bad luck or a common occurrence but there were a multitude of flies inside, which were quite bothersome. There’s a bathroom that’s shared between the businesses in the building! CUSTOMERSERVICE Customer service is kind of iffy. Some people are friendly but some seemed like they were just going through the motions of work. COFFEE I had a double con panna(2 shots of espresso with whipped cream) which came with a small piece of dark chocolate. It was nice and smooth, with no bitterness whatsoever! Good job, Caffe Umbria. My friend’s mocha was decent but not my cup of tea — err, coffee. Prices are reasonable and they let you try the ice blended drink upon request(a little too icy for my taste).

To the horrible, miserable chic behind the counter: you are not cute enough to be so freaking rude with a face like you are sucking sour lemons. Slamming dishes and chairs as loudly as possible certainly gets the message across that you absolutely hate your miserable life. So congrats there. Oh, and this latte is cold. The end. Update — Kudos to management for reaching out to me to make things right. Thank you!

If you’re in Seattle looking for some good coffee, then Caffe Umbria is the spot. I was on a trip in Seattle and of course on the lookout for a good cup of coffee. In fact, my entire trip was practically fueled on caffeine. One morning, I went on Unilocal, typed in «Latte» and this cute little café popped up. Since it was walking distance from where I was staying, I decided to check it out. There were lots of people there — from groups of friends chatting around a table to men in business suits conducting a meeting at a corner table. I quickly concluded that this is a popular coffee shop, and I was so glad I decided to check it out. Now, for the coffee: Good Coffee! Hurray! Come one, come all. Definitely worth it to stop by here and get a cup of coffee or even some tea and pastries. I came here twice(one day right after the other) because I liked just lounging around with my book and sipping on some coffee and tea. The place is spacious and I was always able to find an empty table and chair to plop down on for half an hour or so.

Pretty spacious coffee shop and also really nice inside with brick walls. They serve Gelatiamo gelato, which is amazing! Got a double scoop(which seems to be the size of a single scoop at the actual Gelatiamo, but whatevs) for $ 3.50. Also got a soy chai. Pretty standard. Not a must try, but not bad if you’re nearby and want a snack/something to sip on.

Solid caramel latte. Roomy place, not meant for greater than 5 people per table. Hazelnut shortbread is delicious. I see gelato and sandwich selections that look appetizing. I will probably try some of those next time!

Great lattes and delicious gelatos! Everyone at my office loves to come here for coffee because it’s a pretty good coffee place, in a good location on Occidental(cute little strip), fast service, and space to sit down. A solid café! I didn’t give it 5 stars because there’s nothing that really sticks out about the Umbria that makes me really love it and want to highly suggest it to someone. If it wasn’t so close to me, I probably wouldn’t go as often. I do suggest getting the gelato if you’re in the area though!

If you are in the area and want a quick little coffee break or even a light lunch, Caffé Umbria will suit you well! I was looking for a place to unwind and watch the World Cup between my two lunches(a man’s gotta eat). After catching a free show from Lemolo in Occidental Park I stumbled upon Caffé Umbria and saw a group of people surrounding a tv and knew this would be a great spot! The café is separated into two areas — walk in the main door and you’re greeted with the giant coffee bar and a display case loaded with pastries and various types of biscotti as well as an assortment of gelatos. I couldn’t get over how many baristas there were behind the bar, but appreciated the fast service. The other side of the café has about 10 – 12 tables and a bar along the window. If the weather is nice there are also several tables on the patio out front. I ordered a latte and a white chocolate cranberry biscotti and headed over to a little table by the only tv in the seating area of the café. I didn’t notice what type of espresso roast they used, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The little piece of chocolate served with the latte was a nice touch. I wasn’t a huge fan of the biscotti and found it to be a little too soft for my liking. The guy in line in front of me swore by their pistachio gelato… maybe next time. I assumed it was a self-bus style café, but didn’t see anywhere to put my dishes so I just carried them back to the front counter and they happily took them.
