I’ve known about this food truck for awhile but didn’t get a chance to try it out until recently at this year’s Mobile Food Rodeo. I was struck but the lack of customers at this truck while other trucks around it were doing well. When I stopped to look at the menu, I saw why that was the case. A bahn mi sandwich was $ 9. Wow! I live in North Seattle and spend quite a bit of time in my hood. I also spend a lot of time in the ID. Both places have a good selection of Vietnamese cuisine. I’ve never seen a bahn mi that costs more than $ 6 and some of the best cost between $ 3 — $ 4. My partner and I argued about whether to buy a sandwich here. Finally, I agreed to try a $ 5 bahn mi, which was a half sandwich special for the Rodeo. Ingredients included housemade Vietnamese ham, roasted pork, housemade pâté, along with the typical veggies and roasted garlic basil aioli. The bread was really good and the amount of ingredients was proportional. However, it wasn’t even close the best bahn mi I’ve had. At the current price point, I won’t be going there again. If I’m going to pay $ 9 for a sandwich(any sandwich) it better be good or I can make my own.

AMAZING is the only word to describe this amazing food truck. Sandwiches are HUGE, and the fries plentiful — with legendary aioli. I stopped by on my lunch break when they were near Pike Place. They were so fast and friendly. My mouth was watering as I carried my food 6 blocks to my office. Speaking of carrying, the carriers they give are perfect — they give a dual cup carrier for their food, and it keeps everything from getting squished. So, I made it to my office without getting too much drool on my shoes.(Those fries inspire salivation just from the smell alone). When I actually ate the food, I was absolutely blissful. The Bahn Mi is perfect — and the Pâté is the best part of the sandwich. The fries are so very perfect — I mean, crisp, seasoned like a dream and so yummy! I am on a mission to try every food truck in Seattle, and I’m so pleased to say that this is one of the best.

OHMY! The best sandwiches in Seattle! SOFRESHSO Yum Yum! The fatty crispy taste of the Pork Belly Sandwich is DELICIOUS. The hubby and I also have had the Brown Bag Cow and it was also very very good. The pickled cucumbers, red onions, carrots, radishes, and cilantro add the perfect crunch. They also had condiments of jalapenos. The fries are crispy, but not greezy and one order will be enough for two people… fries… come with a side of sriracha mayo, garlic sauce, or curry sauce. The prices are great and totally worth it. A definite must for any sandwich lover! Order your tasty baguette and stroll down to the lake… sit and enjoy… if it’s not raining!

This truck stopped by my workplace and I have to say, I was blown away. I had the beef sandwich, it was super tender, well marinated and on a well textured bread. The fries with sriracha mayo was tasty and a nice complement. I’d definitely track this truck down for another!

I’m always happy to see this truck pull up near my work on Pike and 2nd. So far, I’ve had the pork sandwich and the pork belly sandwich, and both were off the hook. They aren’t cheap for bahn mi($ 8-$ 8.50), but the bread is crispy and fresh and the pork is off the hook. I love the French influence pâté on the pork; I was worried that it would be too rich, but man it was sooo good. Highly recommend this food truck.

In the word of Meg Ryan from that scene in ‘Sleepless in Seattle’ when she’s sitting in Katz’s Deli in NYC. «YES, YES, YES!!» — It was nice to see a different food truck here in SLU today, so I went to get my little fix. Brown Bag Baguette food truck delivered on my hungry stomach today. I was a bit hesitant until I saw the Banh Mi sandwich that two kinds of porks, with the pâté(traditional) and pickled carrots, cilantro, radishes and cucumber. The bread was perfect. Good baguette bread is light, airy, slightly chewy in texture and crispy in texture. The pâté was awesome, I miss a good Banh Mi sandwich, that is true to its own right. Okay, the bread is actually suppose to be a day old but who cares? It was deliciousness in my mouth.

Just… Yes. Think some reviews are too wordy so practicing a bit of brevity here, because YES sums it up pretty well. Delicious. YES Affordable. YES What you expect when you think of traditional banh mi? YES. Adds something different though to the traditional sandwhich? YES Just YES. Go here, eat, and be merry.

I was in Seattle recently to visit some family. I came upon this food truck and thought, «Why not?» I’m from LA, so there is no shortage of food trucks, so this was just going to be another ordinary meal for me. Trust me, it was no ordinary meal. I got the«Cow» baguette and it was wonderful. Meat– tender and juicy. Marinated with something I can’t put my finger on, but it was delicious. Veggies –excellent Kim chi. Bread — the bread texture is exactly the way the French expect a baguette to be. I could eat the bread by itself were it not for the meat. Overall, the next time I visit Seattle, I’ll track down this truck.

I actually just stopped by because I really needed to rally and saw they had red bulls on the menu. But then the sweet allure of roasted swine hit my nose, and I knew I’d be spending the rest of my drinky fund here. WELLWELLWORTHIT, MYFRIENDS. I got the pig and the cow(plus my bull) and couldn’t really say which one I liked better. You should get the pig if you want a banh mi with a barbecued twist, slightly sweet plus a layer of that delicious umami from the pâté(how do you pronounce that anyway? patty?). The cow is for all the k-fusion lovers out there. I’m from LA so we have the Kogi, but I wish they did a banh mi like this once in a while(whaddup, L.A. Son!). Anyway, not in Seattle a lot, but one more reason to come back now. P. S. My special friend that night got the vegetarian and she finished the damn thing, so it couldn’t have been bad.

OVERALL: Nailed it! I was so lucky to stumble across this place. FOOD: Excellent Banh Mi: Bread is fantastic and all the ingredients are really fresh — love that you can taste every single element of the sandwich. Top it all off with great picked vegetables, you’ve got a bomb sandwich. What else do you need? SERVICE: Excellent Great peeps, this is really what tops it all off and makes a place you want to go back to.

I am rarely in Seattle, WA. But when I do go there, which is rare, I go to the BROWNBAGBAGUETTE truck. If you rarely go to Seattle, like me, saying to yourself Jesus Christ but it is going to be rainy and I don’t own an umbrella, well if this sounds like you, then you only need to eat at one place to cheer up your Seattle trip, and that is the BBB. The BBB stands for BROWNBAGBAGUETTE. It does not stand for«Brandon’s Big Butts.» Brandon only carries very small butts, and that is very common knowledge. Sometimes I find I have visited Seattle without my knowledge. I find I have wandered in and out of the airport like some sort of a village drunk. That is when I visit the BROWNBAGBAGUETTE. It really gets me in the mood to visit my second favorite store in Seattle, the city I rarely visit, «Brandon’s small discount butts.» At the BBB I recommend ordering the«BBB all about me.» Also known as «brown bag banh mi.» But if you say to them, «I want you to make the BBB all about me» they will give you an extra pat on the butt. Usually they only give you 4, maybe 5 pats on the butt. Give them this secret code and they will be patting your butt all night as if to say, «go get ‘em champ, you eat the shit out of that sandwich.» The BBB truck is a relatively new truck. After they fed me 2 delicious(and reasonably priced) sandwiches and patted me on the butt I asked how long they had been doing this and they said, just 2 weeks. 2 weeks!!! My god they were so good at this I figured they were old pros. As you know I am rarely in Seattle so it is a miracle when I stumble onto something this relatively new. I say relatively because nothing can be truly NEW. And if you think about the evolution of the Earth, perhaps 6 billion years or so, even my grandma who looks old as hell, is relatively new by Earth’s standards. Another thing I’d recommend is the roast pork, Vietnamese ham and house-made pickles on a fatty baguette. There is also the brown bag pig which has lemongrass-marinated pork. Imagine a pig that has been frolicking through a lemon grove all day and then he explodes into juicy, citrus-y, smoky goodness in your mouth. God I love when a pig just, MWAH, explodes in my mouth. This is much better than when I ordered the same thing at the Vietnamese restaurant in San Diego, where they tied a brown sack around my head, slapped me around for an hour, and called me a filthy, sexy pig. I have never gone back to that Vietnamese restaurant, especially since I think it was actually a frat house. Now the only thing I do less frequently than visit Seattle is Unilocal. I had heard of Unilocal before but I didn’t trust it. I’m going to just blindly trust what some stranger says? About my food and possibly my bacon burger? Get real. But after eating at the BBB truck I was inspired to start this page. You know you can trust the validity of this review, because, who would write something this obscenely long if it wasn’t true? Only a crazy person, that’s who. And as you know, crazy people aren’t allowed on the Internet. Like I said, the BBB is your best bet for a delicious sandwich and a nice, friendly pat on the butt. The pat on the butt is included in the price. But you should still tip your servers.

Brown Bag Baguette is great! I’ve gone back twice now and am becoming addicted. I work in bellevue and am perpetually jealous of my wife who has access to the best food trucks in the city because she works in downtown seattle. Now I can say with confidence that I have access to some of the best sandwiches in the city. I’d go so far to say they could give paseo’s a run for their money, A bold statement, but their grilled pork with a cilantro spread is soo good. I think they marinate the meats really well(much like paseo’s) and they have interesting flavors. I recommend«cow»(they kind of have weird names for the sandwiches), its beef with kimchi! The kimchi is not too strong, although for me the stronger the better, but I think it will appeal to a wider audience. In the end I thought $ 8 was kind of a lot of a Bön Mi style sandwich(I’m from white center and am used to great Vietnamese food on the cheep), but you can tell the ingredients are high quality and the prep time for these sandwiches is lengthy. I’d get there early because they are going to get popular and start to run out of sandwiches by late afternoon(much like paseo’s). In short, give it a shot you won’t be disappointed!
