While working on a Saturday, I was craving some authentic Indian food. I looked up online and saw that Bombay Grill was close by, and I could order online. Sweet! Or so I thought… I had ordered online about 30 mintues before my lunch time started. It’s about a 5 minute drive there from my work. However, when I arrived, my food was not only not ready yet, but it also took them an addition 30 minutes to make it! There goes my lunch time… So when I finally get it, I scurry back to work and try to eat as much as possible in the shortest amount of time ever. That part was pretty easy, because the portion was ridiculously small. I had ordered the Bazari Chicken… and it just sucked. They gave my like 6 baby chunks of chicken(like baby small… my dog could seriously swallow them without chewing), and it had no flavor. I had also ordered their garlic naan, which also had no flavor. So disappointing… All in all, I was super bummed out. Missed my usually loved lunch break, and also basically gave away $ 20 to a tasteless restaurant. From now on, I’ll just stick to the Trader Joe’s «heat-n-serve» Indian trays. They’re much more delicious.

HORRIBLEANDAPPALLING. We ordered our food online. Its been 2 hours and 30 mins. We called the restaurant the first time, they said should be any minute. We called the 2nd time at 1.5 hours, they said theyd call the driver. When it hit 2 hours, the lady said their driver had to charge his phone and it would be another 10 mins. We said if he isnt here by 10 mins that we will cancel. Before we finished our sentence she hung up on us!!! We are hungry, extremely frustrated and will never order from them again.

As with many others we ordered food to be delivered through Eat24. They said we’d have it w/in 1 hour then called after about 5 minutes to inform us they have no lamb. No lamb? ½ the menu is lamb. Anyway, we agreed to a substitution and waited… and waited… and waited. Over 1 ½ hours later we get several calls from someone who is not speaking English. I’m good at understanding accents. This was not an accent. The person was not speaking English. We contact Eat24, after about 15 minutes they say they’re 5 – 10 minutes away. They were not 5 – 10 minutes away. They never showed up. We got no food. Now I’m hungry and it’s too late to order from somewhere else. Don’t waste your time unless you really like ordering food more than eating food.

Delicious. So good. We live close by and have tried this place a few times, they have yet to disappoint! We usually get the Tandoori chicken and lamb tikka misala with naan. All have been delicious and flavorful. The service has always been warm and friendly. Judging from the other Unilocal reviews just don’t order delivery and all should be well!

Ordered delivery. Yes they are a little slow I was estimated for 40 – 60 min and food arrived at exactly 1 hour and 15 minutes. But! The food is delicious every thing was still piping hot, perfectly spicy and I’m a very happy customer. Definitely recommend the tomato soup, just order before your starving.

One star is just for delivering late, and having a nice delivery person. We’ve ordered from this place before, and were really happy about how fast they do it, and that food was good quality. Their Nawarbi Korma is the best, you’ll not find it anywhere else. However, I ordered mango lassi, and found something floating there, plus it was so much water based. The food itself this time though is so… old. We’ve ordered a Tandoori platter for ten bucks, and got 4 pieces of chicken, 2 halves of zucchini, and one piece of lamb. Garlic naan was horrible, with a weird brown colored pieces of garlic on it. The rice they brought is so freaking old, that it was almost crispy, and fused with oil. Honestly, it was a waste of $ 30, but again, thanks to the delivery guy. I don’t think will stick to this place anymore, thankfully we’re moving up North.

My boyfriend and I ordered the chicken and paneer tikka masala. Good potions and showed up right when eat24 predicted it would. Our delivery driver was friendly and the food tasted good. I wasn’t wild about the naan but my boyfriend loved it. The paneer was excellent and tasted fresh, if people are claiming they use Campbell’s tomato soup, they’ve clearly changed their recipe, cause it was really nice and I’ve eaten tikka masala at just about every Indian joint in the vicinity. Leans on the spicy side for sure. Minus 1 star for naan that wasn’t to my taste and flimsy to go packaging. Food tasted good and delivery was on time, which is really all that matters.

Pathetic experience. Christmas day, 2015. Was moving all day and was hungy for dinner. Checked around to see whos delivering and this place popped up. Called at 7pm to see if they’re open. Was told they are open until 10pm. Great! I get on Eat24 to set up a delivery. Delivery was confirmed and was supposed to be delivered at 8:06pm. Sweet. 8:25pm, I check with Simone at Eat24 to make sure my order was still good to go and that no one is lost etc. Simone called the restaurant and they said they would be here 10 min max. Waited 20min and checked with Simone again. Supposedly having hard time getting a hold of the restaurant and supposedly they couldn’t get a hold of the driver who left with the order. Fast forward to 9:08, I went ahead and cancelled my order. Not sure what happened but this was f’ed up. Piss poor customer service, communication and straight up fail as a restaurant. I know it’s Christmas but don’t tell me my order is on its way when it’s not. Don’t open or take orders if you can’t manage. Not bothering with this place again. I’m passing this on to all my friends.

An hour and a half later, and still no food?! I called them to ask what was the delay with our order(for delivery) and they said they were«waiting for the driver to come into work.» What’s the point in offering delivery at 10:00a if your driver doesn’t come in until after 12?!? I hope my food isn’t just chilling on the counter. Looks like LATE delivery is a common negative review among other reviews. Probably should have listened to everyone else… Tip: Order for delivery only if you want to eat cold food 2 hours later.

NASTY! Nasty! NASTY! Delivery is a nice option but not when you have cold ass food coupled with a crushed to-go box upon arrival… A complete turn off. Our cucumber salad didn’t come with the yogurt dressing they advertise on the menu. Hell, no dressing came with it at all. The Tandori chicken tastes more like BBQ chicken and look undercooked. The chicken masala was equally as terrible! NEVER again! Waste of money for sure!

When I first read that there was an Indian restaurant in Burien, I looked forward to trying it – despite the many negative reviews on Unilocal. We pulled into the parking lot wondering if the address we had was correct since there is still a sign on the front of the building that says«Barrel” – which I believe is the name of the former tenant, who has been gone for several months. We went inside and the Indian décor revealed that we were in fact at the correct place. The restaurant looked nice, so we sat down at a table in the corner – at the behest of the other guests. A waiter or staff members of any kind were not to be seen. The seat of my chair felt a little funny, like the middle of the cushion was missing. I didn’t think much of this until my niece said her seat felt like a toilet seat. Was this just the mark of a frugal owner of a newly opened restaurant, or was it an omen? I found the answer to this question the next day, but won’t go into details. After a few minutes, a waiter appeared and promptly filled our water glasses as we looked through the menus. Once we had figured out what we wanted to order, the conversation at our table went like this: My niece: «There’s funny stuff floating around in the water glasses.» Me: «What?» My niece: «There’s funny stuff floating around in the water glasses.» Me: «That’s just ice.» My niece: «It’s not ice.» My sister: «I don’t think it’s ice.» Me: «Yeah, it’s just crushed ice.» My niece: «No, that is NOT ice! It’s something else.» Upon closer examination, I had to admit that my niece and sister were right. There was something in all three water glasses that was not water-related. If you’ve ever poured oil into a glass of water, that’s what it looked like. And it wasn’t just a little. The water glasses could have easily been turned into lava lamps with the correct lighting. So, that said, it was time to order some drinks instead. And guess what was floating around in those glasses? Well, I didn’t know what this was either, but it certainly wasn’t water-related. We decided to drink directly from the bottles and cans after this. Speculating about what was in our glasses and just how this stuff could have appeared in them kept us busy while we waited for our entrees to arrive. We looked at the glasses on all the other tables and they appeared spotlessly clear. Our food arrived promptly at our table, but the waiter seemed a little confused at what he was serving us. He insisted that one of the entrees was chicken, which it wasn’t, but once we figured this out, all was well. .. until we tried the rice. Hmm. .. I haven’t seen rice like this in a restaurant before. It was kinda water-logged, like minute-rice. The entrees tasted pretty good. Were they average, above average, below average? Hard to tell since by this time the drink glasses and rice had imparted some bias. About the time we’d finished half our food and figured the waiter had forgotten our naan, it showed up. Bias or not, the naan was really good. We waited a long time for our check, but watching beads of water forming upon the inside of the windows entertained us while we waited. .. at least for a little while, but after five or ten minutes, it wasn’t all that interesting anymore. I finally had to go back toward the kitchen to get the attention of a cook who eventually found someone to take my money. Summary. The Pros. 1. The waiter was friendly. 2. The naan was very good. 3. We were served quickly. The Cons. 1. Well, when the aforementioned three items are the only pros I can think of after several minutes of consideration, that tells me I don’t need to summarize the cons. I just need to take this restaurant off my list of places at which I’d like to eat. Note: Since I’ve been Unilocaling, I don’t ever remember letting the cleanliness of a restaurant negatively affect my review until now. I have no problems eating in a restaurant that it a little dirty. I can overlook dried food on a plate or two, But there’s a point when a person’s tolerance for grodiness is simply exceeded. And the quality of the food and service at this place wasn’t enough to compensate. I see that the owner has posted several comments over the past few months stating that they are striving to improve. Well, keep trying and good luck!

I hate to do this. But I’m going to. My first experience with Bombay Grille was sublime and I gave them a five star rating. I then ordered again from eat24 and did not receive one item, and my salad was missing dressing. Tonight I reordered for the third time, and reordered my exact first order. All items are mild because I have a pretty low threshold for spicy food. I mean, if you’re offering your food mild, then make it mild. Got the food tonight, starving and excited. The order was complete, though everything in it(save for the naan) was at least a five star heat rating. Inedible. Even my husband, who loves spicy food, complained about the spice level. This will be my last purchase. Pretty disappointing after such a lovely first order. Also never received any sort of credit from them or from eat24 for the missing and incomplete items in my last order. #desperatelyseeekingindianfoodinsouthseattle

I haven’t been on Unilocal for a while, but I had to start back up again to review this place. I love Indian food. I was so delighted to see that this place was a mere 10 blocks away from my house, within the delivery zone, and available on Eat24. So, like the naïve fool that I am, I ordered dinner one night, being mildly hungry and in the mood for some Saag Paneer. TWOHOURSLATER, the delivery person is lucky my boyfriend was home to answer, because I was literally so hangry and frustrated I was WEEPING. I can only imagine said delivery person would have melted on the spot from the voracious, furious power of my hungry glare. If you’ve ever been a victim of hanger, you’ll understand. The food was delicious, but I will not abide a place that takes TWOHOURS to deliver two entrees ten blocks down the road. From everything else I’ve read, this has been many other folks’ experience. Unilocal is one of the first results when you Google«indian food burien,» and there’s little doubt in my mind that at least one employee of this place has seen these reviews. When your reputation in online reviews for your local business is in danger, the only way to fix it is to take the constructive criticism and actively try to improve. When I see a total of five recent reviews saying they received their food in under 45 minutes, I’ll order from here again. Until then, I’ll make the effort to drive to West Seattle or Tukwila for Indian, even though I love it so dearly that I would happily order takeout three times a week. And yes, I wrote this when I was starving and craving Indian food.

I am sorry to have to write this review but after the last experience I had I just have to. The last experience I had was great, the food was flavorful and there was plenty of it. But this time the place did a complete 360. We arrived and sat down, the waitress came to us immediately. She filled up out waters and left us the menus. After one sip I looked in the cup and there were white flakes floating around in it. I immediately put it down and gagged. My sister evidently had the same problem. We asked for another glass. they replaced hers but not mine. She took our order and asked my sister what level of spice, she said one. It took over 45 minutes for our food to arrive and the pakoras arrived overcooked and burned. My mother Gyro had to be taken to go because we were done eating by the time it was done. Now the food. This was the worst part. Both my sisters and my food was horrendously over spiced. The waitress never asked me what spice level I wanted but it was so spicy that I couldn’t eat more than a few bites. I tried to choke it all down but with the water with flakes in it I didn’t want to take a chance. My sisters was super spicy too and it was supposed to be the first level of spice. I don’t know what happened here but waiting 45 minutes for three entrees shouldn’t be a problem. Especially when one of them was a sandwich? It was terribly spicy and overcooked. I am overall displeased. How could it be this bad after the great experience I had before?

The food was average. I had ordered samosas, a cup of tomato soup and the boneless chicken briyani. It took close to an hour to get delivered as promised by grubhub. The samosas very cold and lacked any taste. The tomato soup was ok, but the boneless chicken briyani was very bad. It lacked salt and any flavor. I had asked for a spicy briyani(5⁄6) but was very much disappointed. Order only if you cannot find any other indian restaurant close by.

Edit: I have since tried ordering from here and am very glad to report that they’ve worked the kinks out of their delivery service! The food is just so good. Man. I want to like this restaurant so much. I like their food, but my delivery orders have been screwed up every time. They’ve brought the wrong food, forgotten part of the order, made substitutions without calling to find out what I’d be ok with… It’s disappointing. The first order I made came with some amazing chicken. I tried to order it again and got something totally different. I don’t even know which order was incorrect. Don’t get me wrong, the food I’ve gotten was all super delicious, but now I have no faith in their delivery.

We’ve been waiting to try this place so they could work out the kinks but decided to try it last night. When we pulled in there was a family leaving with leftover containers and a large party sitting down. Décor: cleaned up from the Barrel days and comfortable inside, music was good level and the place smelled amazing. Outside needs a hose down and sweep but fine… Service: the friendliest staff but very slow. We ordered takeout and it took about 30 mins from order to leaving with the food. They answered questions and helped with ordering and apologetic for the wait The food: fresh, made to order(you can see the kitchen from the bar), delicious, big portions. We ordered the Butter chicken which was perfect. Another chicken dish that was ordered at 2⁄6 spice level(did not disappoint!) and delicious. Rice that came with was flavorful and soft. Appetizers were tasty but a little under cooked. And the naan was great. Onion, spinach and plain. Yum! We will be back but probably for takeout only until they get their staff trained for dinner rush. Overall awesome addition to the neighborhood!

We went to The Barrel often and were disappointed to see it go. When it re-opened as Bombay Grill, though, we were excited to give it a try. We came here at around 6:00 on a Saturday evening, and our experience was interesting, to say the least. As we were getting out of the car, we saw someone sleeping in the outdoor seating area. It was a bit puzzling, but we brushed it off as nothing. Then we walked into the restaurant. Indian music was so loud it became distorted by the sound system. We initially didn’t even see any employees to help us. After we looked around, we found three more employees sleeping. One was sleeping across three chairs, the two others curled up in booths. Even more bizarre. Still, since we were getting our food to go, we decided to put these oddities aside and try the food. Both the inside of the restaurant and the outdoor patio were remodeled beautifully, given the age of the restaurant. We were told we could sit on the patio while we pondered the menu. We asked whether they served beer and wine, and received an emphatic«yes.» So, we inquired as to what kind of wine they had. The gal helping us told us «red and white.» When we asked specifically what kind of white wine they had, she retreated to the kitchen to check. She came out with two almost-empty bottles of red wine. Definitely not what we were looking for. Okay, beer. Surely they have a better selection of beer, considering they have a few beer signs illuminated in the windows. Wrong. One of us asked for a Bud Light, since they had a Budweiser sign. We were told they had some Bud Light. Of course, the lady came back empty handed. They didn’t have it. Coors Light? Yes, she said, they did have Coors Light. She comes back, this time with an imported light beer in hand. This, apparently, was the only light beer they had. We had to pass. If you’re coming to have a few drinks with dinner, you will probably leave very disappointed. As we sipped our waters, we checked out the menus. The menu is quite large, with several different curries, tandoor dishes, naan, and vegetarian options. We opted for the Butter Chicken, Chicken Vindaloo, Dal Soup, Garlic Naan, Onion Naan, and a Chicken Gyro. We ordered the two chicken dishes«medium spicy.» I’m glad we stuck out the peculiar restaurant experience, because the food was fantastic. Both curries were packed with warm, delicious spices and had the perfect level of heat. The chicken wasn’t dry in the least. Though a little pricy, the portion sizes were decent, and each came with a generous side of rice. The naan was super yummy. It was soft and nicely toasted. The onion naan was stuffed with caramelized onions which gave a great flavor, and the garlic naan did not disappoint – you could definitely taste the garlic. The soup and gyro were also great. Overall, we were really happy with the food. Given how much we enjoyed the food, we will probably be ordering from Bombay Grill again. However, next time we will probably opt for ordering through Eat 24. Though the restaurant was nicely decorated, the sleeping staff and lack of any choice of beer and wine made the dine-in experience just too strange for us(hence the three star rating instead of four or five stars). Side note: if you’re planning on getting food to-go, they won’t let you use your buy one get one half off coupon for checking in on Unilocal! That was definitely a disappointment.

Had been wanting to check it out. Saw Ashok’s nice review(He’s a nice guy) so figure it must be a going concern. Nice to have an Indian restaurant near by and glad someone took over ‘The Barrel’. Dropped by around 3:00pm, looked open. Open sign was displayed. Door was open. Saw a sign about ‘Lunch special’ so must be open and went in. Looks really nice inside, clean, nice table cloths, except for the pizza boxes stacked up in what should be the entrance station. That doesn’t fit, should change it but a minor thing. There were a bunch of folks sitting at a far table. After standing there awhile one guy turns around and gruffly yells«Eh, What do you want?». So I stammered something about being interested in seeing a menu. He waved me off and yelled«takeout menue comes next week, good by!» Screw that! If you aren’t open tell me so in a polite manner. If you are open, what kind of business are you?
