I will be going back to Dr. Wong. She and her team were kind, «real,» and professional at every turn. Dr. Wong has a gentle presence, seems to enjoy her work, and clearly has a lot of expertise. Her team cares about their work, and I can vouch that they know what they are doing. They worked hard to get me progressive bifocal lenses that work very well. The bottom line is that I can now see better than I have in years, and I am very grateful to Dr. Wong and her office for caring about their work so much.

Got back on the eye-exam wagon recently — Dr. Wong’s office is literally steps from my office, plus accepts my vision plan. I was impressed with Dr. Wong’s professionalism as I felt my eye exam was very thorough and Dr. Wong did a nice job explaining as she went along. The lighting inside Dr. Wong’s exam room was softly lit and the experience was relaxing(given that it’s an eye exam). This may have something to do with Dr. Wong’s length of experience and her calm demeanor. When I walked in to make my appointment, I initially thought the frame selection was lacking, but as it turns out it’s actually quite good and Dr. Wong’s assistant/optician was a great help in selecting frames that worked for my needs as well as my face type. I picked up my glasses today, and Dr. Wong’s assistant helped fit my new eyeglasses to my liking. Great experience all-around. It also feels good to support an independent business and not one of those mega-shops in the mall!

Dr. Mamie Wong is awesome. Professional, kind, patient, and listens well. I do wish they had a little better selection of glasses, but that didn’t affect my rating because their care is downright fantastic.

I am very very picky about people that I let poke and prod me– I didn’t go to the dentist for almost 19 years one time because my old dentist died and I didn’t want to let anyone else stick their fingers in my mouth. I have space issues and strangers touching me gives me the creeps. So it takes me a long time to finally sack up and try and form a bond with new medical professionals. I have always prided myself on how good my sight was– so when I started feeling fatigue in my eyes and had trouble focusing I realized that all these years of computers and smart phones and sitting too close to the TV(and running with scissors…) had finally taken their toll on my poor eyes. Went to Binyon’s with low expectations– It’s in a strip mall next to a vet’s office which used to be an erotic massage parlor, a financing company for people with bad credit(which funded my first financed car) and The Mandarin Gate, my favorite dive bar in Seattle, but I still don’t want it next to my eye care professional. But I was wrong. Really wrong. Like, embarrassingly wrong. Dr. Wong was great. She was very gentle and accommodating, she really explained everything that she was doing, which helps a skittish giant like me. She didn’t over talk, which I hate(Just give me the facts and let me go) and explained what my eye insurance covered in a very easy to understand way. Her receptionist was very gracious in helping me order my glasses even when I know I was being a pain in the ass and the whole thing was a nice experience. I don’t like the fact that glasses make me look like I’m fifty years old and make my head look like a bowling ball… but that’s not their fault. Getting old blows but getting glasses doesn’t have to… that should be their motto! Dr. Wong, if you are reading this, you can use that line for free. You’re welcome.

I had an eye exam done here last week, I had a great experience. I thought Dr. Wong was very caring, thorough, and a very sweet person. I have not ordered glasses from here but I have ordered contacts a year ago and they seemed cheaper than I had gotten in the past. Great experience here!

I’ve been visiting Binyon Oak Tree Family Vision for years and have always been impressed. Dr Wong takes the extra time to make sure I have no questions and I always feel well taken care of.

I have seen Mamie Wong for my eye visits for three years now. And I wish I could concur with the other review for her but regretfully I cannot. Recently I had my usual eye exam which went as usual but when I took my prescription to another optical store the problems began. Rather than name the optical store, which has never given us problems before, they will be referred to as Store A from here on out. I took my Rx to Store A to replace my lenses in my existing glasses. When I returned to get my glasses, the curvature to correct my astigmatism was off. I told the employee at Store A and they suggested that I wear them at the start of the next day to acclimate to any changes I might have received. I did and the problem was the same. I returned to Store A and told them I couldn’t wear the glasses and they offered to remake them with no problem. Glasses came back and the same problem existed. This time the manager dealt with me and explained that the issue might not be on their end, it might be with the Rx. I called Wong’s office and dealt with her receptionist, a brusque woman on her good days. I explained the situation and made an appointment to return. The exam was redone and the results were the same. I returned to Store A and the manager was there. I explained what I did and they said they would make the glasses one last time. If they were not to my satisfaction, they would provide a full refund with no argument. Glasses arrived and the problem still existed. The manager of Store A was very accommodating, he said that maybe I should return to the optometrist and request another Rx, this one with the new correction and the old astigmatism. And that is what I did. I went back to Wong for a third visit. She told me the store made the glasses wrong never once saying that it might be her equipment that was overcompensating. I wasn’t going to argue with her. I just wanted the scrip so I could get my glasses fixed. I went to Store B(a different eyeglass store) with my amended Rx. Later that day I was given my glasses. I crossed my fingers hoping that the fourth time would be a charm. My eyes needed to get used to the changes but there was no fishbowl effect — they finally got it right. The entire reason I wrote this review was because my best friend went to Wong and experienced the exact same problem with her Rx. The difference was that her astigmatism is very slight yet her new lenses overcompensated in the same way that mine did. When she called the office to explain the problem, she was told that she’d get used to the new lenses and just wear them for a week. She found that unacceptable and is now seeking a new optometrist.

I am with Dr Mamie Wong for years and none of my visits disappointed me. She is very patience and professional in examining my eyes and explain to me very clearly on my concern and questions. Years ago when I tried to get my first pair of contact lens in Costco(Kirkland), the staff was so rude to order me «if you cannot manage to take off the contact lens, you cannot leave this store» … man, that was my first time put that plastic thing into my eyes, of course I have to take as much time as needed to practise. Anyway, with Dr. Wong, she is soooo patience and understanding that I am afraid to ‘poke’ my eyes, so she showed me her quick way to do it without losing her patience nor rude to me. However, the frame selection is not very upbeat. But if you’re looking for good optomertist, I’ll highly recommended Dr. Wong to you. By the way, did I mention that the eye exam room is very comfy and she have great listening skills, too?
