My girlfriend and I decided to try a new place and went here at 3:50pm yesterday to watch the Sounders game which started at 4. As a sports bar, we were quite surprised to find out that they were closed, especially when their site says: «Saturday & Sunday Open Early for Home Teams.» Uh, no, they’re not. The bartender looked at us as we tried to enter and didn’t do a thing but continue to set up his bar. So, we spent our $ 100 elsewhere.

Best bar staff in Ballard. The Mules are chilled to perfection, and don’t be surprised if you run into the infamous Amy Bice, or Scott Jeffery there.

Pretty good beer selection, small but nice outdoor seating space, nice location! Happy hour prices are $ 1 off draft beer and $ 2 off their sandwiches. Unfortunately with the U. S game yesterday all of their sandwiches were consumed so I didn’t get to try one by the time I got there, but I did learn you can bring in any outside food so that’s awesome. Service was on point.

The place has a chill vibe for a Ballard bar. They are trying to be a little upscale and have a small cocktail list of fairly seasonal things they try to entice you with. I’ve never had much success with the cocktails here. They always sound great and look to be well thought out. But I find they typically lack in execution, even on Friday nights when I expect the A-team bartenders. I know that I should not be complaining about this but here it goes. Last week I was here and decided to forgo the cocktails. And instead just drink my usual Bulleit Bourbon on the rocks. The bartender actually measured my whiskey in the measuring cup before serving it to me… I get it. That’s all I’m actually paying for but come on. It’s not a cocktail with ratios, give me some value for my money! I tipped him because I know he has to eat/get drunk later too, but I shouldn’t have. I shouldn’t be venting on Unilocal. That all being said I will probably be back. They have 2 real dart boards with the pointy poke your eye out tips and a shuffleboard table. We enjoy starting out our nights here playing both of the games. The shuffleboard table isn’t 100% flat and there are some weird runs and lanes on it. This makes for an exciting game once you get used to it. I guess I would suggest coming in for the amenities and drinking beer.

Visited for a friend’s bday on a Sat. night. This place is reminds me of a cool tavern that I would visit after a day of snowboarding. There’s a lot of wood(not related to the slang concept of gender ratio), a high ceiling, plenty of tables, and offers a warm/cozy feel. The place is broken up into two sections, a single row of tables and then in the back is a Shuffleboard and a digital jukebox of the future. Seems like all of us Asian Americans were in the back –_-’ I hope that paints a picture of the demographic scatter plot of the venue occupancy from a bird’s eye view.(no transition) What? They have cheap drinks? Tonight will be a good night. Thank god I didn’t driving because Ballard is a helluva distance away from home or the next destination. Still worth the trek because you will form new memories from this place. My fav memory is trying to see how many people I could get rid of. Thank you Vanessa Carleton. Your song of a thousand miles made 6 ppl leave. HELLOOO new seats!

My wife and I were heading out to dinner in Ballard with some friends on Wednesday night. We met up at Ballard Station and had so much fun with the Shuffleboard and tasty drinks that we decided to stay. We ended up eating their and had their delicious Panini’s. I highly recommend this place, even if you are just popping in for a quick drink before dinner. Have fun!!!

Went here for a sweater/toys for tots fundraiser party on the 20th of December. Coming from Boston, I didn’t know what to expect. One of bartenders suggested a good IPA; though very tasty, I wasn’t in the mood for another. I asked for a Manhattan. Oh god did he ever deliver. This was one of the most delicious/best Manhattans I have ever had; using Bulleit Rye, stirred to perfection, chilled and threw in a chunk of orange skin instead of the cherry. He added the perfect amount of everything and it went down so smoothly. The cost of this drink in Boston would have easily been $ 10-$ 12. But here, it was reasonably priced at I think $ 6. I wish I could remember that bartenders name to give him the props he deserves!

On Friday October 4th around 8:30pm my wife and I heard some cool sounding jazz emanating from Ballard Station. We love jazz music so we decided to go in and check it out. We walked up to the bar and immediately the bartender took a snotty attitude with us. I asked if they had a certain beer, and he informed me they didn’t have that particular beer. Said bartender proceeded to condescendingly and somewhat aggressively smack down a drink menu on the bar like a complete jerk. While I looked over the menu the bartender stood glaring as though I was wasting his time. I asked if he could pour my wife a gimlet while I decided on which beer I would like. He then again condescendingly shook his head, as if to insinuate I was an idiot or something. My wife and I were both amazed at how rudely we were being treated, so we agreed to leave promptly, never to return. I don’t know what this place is trying to achieve by putting someone like that behind a bar to interface with customers, but it is a major turn off. We have been to bars all over the world, and this is one of the worst customer service experiences either of us has ever had. This is all unfortunate because with all the new bars opening up in Ballard, we were interested in checking one out with decent music. BooHiss

Awesome and fun bar! Great location! Came here for trivia night on tuesdays and had a blast. There was about 10 teams playing and I recommend getting there earlier on to get a table. Also they dont have a lot of food options but what is cool is that you can bring your own food in from where ever! So you could order a pizza and have it delivered! I have been to this bar before and had a lot of fun too. So let the good times roll because I will definitely be back!

I went here on a busy wednesday night before 4th of July. One many bravely tended the bar like a boss. He was quick and friendly and managed to attend to everyone in a very efficient manner. The atmosphere is nice and clean while a bit loud. Everything you’d expect from a small trendy bar of its sorts. The beer selection was excellent covering a number of craft brews from the Pacific Northwest. Overall, if I wasn’t pushing myself to try lots of different places up here in Seattle, I could see myself settling down as a regular here.

A really awesome bar to just hang out with friends, watch some games, drink, and play some shuffleboard. We were here on an early Sat night(around 8pm) and the place was fairly empty. But it also meant we had instant access to the shuffleboard! We ordered standard fair beers, but really enjoyed the jukebox, the games, and the really awesome décor. It’s a perfect casual, but not dirty bar. Definitely a place to come back with friends. Met the owner and he was really cool!

I’ve been here a couple times now, on just regular nights and for trivia. Decent tap selection, haven’t tried the cocktails yet. As it turns out, they could really use some more seating/tables at trivia night, when the popularity outpaces the number of places to put your butt. They don’t have their own food(besides popcorn), but Ballard Pizza Company does a brisk delivery business here– I think I saw their delivery guy come in three or four times last night. Overall, it’s a good balanced spot– not meat-market-y, but pleasantly social. I’ll definitely be back for trivia again!

Went here for the first time and LOVED it. It is a public house, so go here knowing that you’re going to be getting just drinks. They have a VERY limited food menu. Just a couple of snacks. A friend and I met for a pre-dinner happy hour and both had cocktails that were outstanding! The bartender was very friendly, and came to talk to us about our drinks, and wanted to ensure that they were crafted to our liking. I had the scratch cocktail of the day, which happened to be a whiskey sour with egg white. True to its name, it was sour. I hate overly sweet drinks, so this was perfect! The egg white foam was the perfect addition, giving some substance to the drink. My friend’s drink was the equivalent of an unsweetened old-fashioned, and again, it was delicious! He clearly has a great understanding of cocktails. Love the interior. The first thing I noticed when i walked in was that it smelled like new wood. The smell was amazing! I love the tables, and the streetcar/railroad feel that it has. The garage door is open on sunny days, and is the perfect thing. I look forward to coming back here again!

Best mixed drink menu, period. As someone already said(paraphrased) — the drinks come with all the amazing and none of the bullsh! t. The cynar and lillet combo is awesome. Also, it’s new and still chill, so you can do work in an awesome atmosphere or bring a bunch of friends and know you’ll get a table. Will def. be better when they get a bit more food though…

Okay, first of all I want to clarify one thing — the music is chosen by the customer via a jukebox. So, if a band called Pop Evil is played, it’s because a customer chose it. That being said, I found the atmosphere fun and the staff very friendly. We came for our 25th reunion, and this was the perfect place for everyone to get together, mingle and drink. I had the Dharma Bum specialty cocktail, which was amazing. It was grapefruit, gin and cucumber — a combination that sounded just weird enough to be good. And it was excellent and refreshing. I loved that mason jars were used as drinking vessels for many of the beverages that were served, including water. Since there were a lot of people in the bar for this event, the bay window was such a treat. I think it would have been unbearable if this wasn’t open. But, the interior was very cool with it’s railroad touches, brick walls and timber tables. The space is very long, with dartboards(darts with real metal tips, not those plastic ones!), and the shuffleboard table in the very back makes this a fun place to hang out. The atmosphere is super laid back, as others have said, but the staff is very friendly, and the drinks are pretty fanfriggintastic! I highly recommend coming here to hang out, drink some great cocktails and be treated by royalty by the staff.
