Animal Sidekicks

When my work schedule changed and I needed a dogwalker, I was pretty nervous. My dog is dog aggressive, and I don’t trust many people to walk her (and by that, I mean just me and my fiancé walk her). I also work at animal control so my dog *cannot* get into trouble! Christy was professional from the first communication. She was reliable;I don’t think in nearly a year’s time she EVER cancelled a walk. Her experience was reassuring to me. She always follows up with a text after the walk to let you know how it went. Her prices are reasonable. I am so happy that her business is growing, but sadly that meant I lost her as my regular walker so she can focus on walking larger groups of dogs, and mine has to fly solo. We will miss Christy!

This review is long overdue as we have multiple residencies in different cities. Christy has been such a wonderful person to know. She is so caring and knowledgeable for all pets and its inclinations. She is known to be my beloved bichon; Jake’s second family –after two years in residing in Seattle. Absolutely to be rest assured – I know that she and her company is irreplaceable.

When I was stuck in Los Cabos two weeks ago caught in a hurricane that destroyed the entire town, I could only make one phone call before the cell towers went down for good — I absolutely made the right decision by calling Christy (instead of my parents or best friends)!! I just said «Christy, I am stuck in Cabos, keep checking on my cats until I return. If you don’t hear from me after 3 days, call xxx (trusted friend’s name) to make arrangements his phone # is xxx-​xxxx» She quickly assured me that she will keep paying daily visits to my cats and even offered to get meds from my vet! At that moment I thought, if I couldn’t make it out alive at least my cats are taken cared of.
Long story short, What was supposed to be a 5 day trip turned out to be a 7 day nightmare. We were stuck in Cabos as refugees and lost electricity, plumbing, phone access and internet. I could only think of my two elderly cats who were both on medications (one on IV because of tumor in abdomen). When I lost all access to communications to I convinced myself that I have placed my cats in good hands by hiring Christy.
Was I ever right! After safely returning two days behind schedule, the cats greeted me happily at the door, and I immediately noticed that the one with the tumor had gained weight! Upon checking at the Vet’s the next day he actually GAINED 0.75 lbs! Not bad for a cat who drastically lost weight (to 7.5 lbs) due to sickness. Christy even trimmed his nails and shaved /​groomed the other one! They looked so beautiful and healthy I was almost moved to tears. She really worked magic on my babies!
If I could give Christy 10 stars I would. She is simply phenomenal.

Christy has been a great sitter for our two kitties. She’s very reliable, has always been able to accommodate our schedule (even on the occasions where we’ve forgotten to book her until last minute) and the kitties love her. The text updates are nice too. We’re very happy to have her as our pet sitter!

Christy is amazing! Our boisterous 2-​year old boxer adores her and practically levitates off the floor when Christy comes by to pick her up for her 3x/​week dog park trip. And she comes back exhausted and happy as a clam. Christy has a real gift for communicating with our girl and is totally trustworthy and reliable. We have greatly appreciated her flexibility, too, particularly over weekends and with last minute changes to the schedule. Christy is a gem!

Animal Sidekicks was referred to me through Urban Animal, where Christy previously worked. She came over to meet my cats prior to my trip and learned their names and different personalities/​needs right away. Her daily text updates and pictures gave me peace of mind while I was out of town. She takes exceptional care of the animals plus her background working for a veterinarian makes her the perfect pet sitter. Her rates are very reasonable and her service is far superior to any other animal sitter or animal daycare/​boarding that I have ever used. I strongly recommend Christy and cannot thank her enough for an extraordinary job.

We have 3 older cats, each with their own health issues. Of course they are our babies. When we go away, it is such a comfort to know that Christy is caring for them. She handles their special needs and texts us updates each time she comes to care for them. They love her and she is so kind and caring that it is clear she loves them too. We are very grateful for Christy!

Like so many people in Seattle with pets, my dogs mean the world to me. Finding a good dog-​walker or pet-​sitter can be a real challenge. Luckily, I have known Christy in a veterinary setting for a long time and am pumped that she has transitioned into this role. She has great animal instincts, loads of compassion (for both animals and people) and is a hard worker. She was quite sweet with my older, special needs dog and carefully listened to my requests in terms of how and why he needed the care that he did. She was also able to assess my younger, energetic dog’s personality right off the bat and integrate her easily into a (small) group of dogs for park outings. I truly trust her with my dogs: I know that they receive personalized attention and affection while in Christy’s care, and I know that Christy would make the right decisions in an emergent situation given her background in veterinary medicine.

Animal Sidekicks is great! My spazzy lab mix went on her first Sidekicks adventure today, and came back HAPPY and TIRED. She had a great adventure with Christy and when she came back she gave me a detailed report on what they did at the park (mudpuppy found the only mud puddle there… figures!), how she did with other dogs (great!) and a cute picture that even got posted on the blog (internet stardom!). Great rates and Christy is super easy to work with. Knowing that she’s super experienced with dog behavior made me really comfortable trusting her with my dog.

Christy is amazing. She often sits my younger boxer and helped me train my older boxer to socialize better. She has the best advice in the world. I highly recommend
