Best. Phở. Ever. And great price. I love Green Leaf a lot as well! This place however, has amazing broth and the chicken they add to the phở is to die for. Also, the staff is super nice!

Love the feel of the small, swanky restaurant. Amazing food, if you love Asian fusion you must try Alicia!

On a hunch, a few weeks back, we decided to dine at Alicia Fusion. Well, I wish I’d had that hunch a long time ago. Perhaps we’d been a little reticent about checking out Alicia, because frankly, I associate Leschi with less-than-stellar eateries(I’m looking at you Daniels’ Broiler and Blu Water Bistro). Yeah, so Alicia doesn’t have a panoramic view of Lake Washington(though there are little peek-a-boo views through the trees of the nearby marina and water), but the food is awesome. And service is just as good. Alicia is an undiscovered gem(even on a Friday evening, there were lots of open tables). And actually, prices are very reasonable. We’ve been here three times for dinner and left completely satisfied. Oh, if you don’t want to eat, but want a cocktail, there’s a bar in the front of the restaurant as well(I can envision taking a walk from home along the lake and stopping in for a martini… or two). The appetizer menu is vast, but at the top of my list is the Asian Pancake. It’s very similar to Indian roti bread. Alicia’s Asian Pancake is toasted perfectly and cut into triangles circling a most wonderful dipping sauce. My favorite dish has to be the garlic noodles, which go for a mere $ 5. The noodles are lightly oiled and tossed with excellent crispy pieces of onion and garlic. Oh baby. And you gotta try the lamb chops, which really are more like rack of lamb. Served on a breadboard, it’s delicious! Another recommendation is the asparagus, which is served in perfectly-cooked pieces stacked in the shape of a pyramid. The asparagus comes with an exquisite curry-lemon sauce that has just a little bit of heat. And speaking of the sauce, we followed our server’s suggestion and drizzled the sauce over the garlic noodles. Très bien! The only thing I would change at Alicia is for them to offer ice tea(they only offer hot tea). But nonetheless, we will be back!

Of the three Leschi restaurants, this one easily has the best food. I docked one star for interior though, as it’s a little stuffy and the music makes me think I’m in an elevator. I’ve had the same waitress both times I went in and she was great. Very helpful and super friendly, not in the fake happy waitress kind of way, but the«I’m actually a real person» kind of way. She gave great recommendations for food and drink that I still haven’t deviated from. Those two things were the Banh Mi sandwich and this unique fruit mojito(I’m blanking on the fruit though). The sandwich was out of this world! It’s basically a pulled pork sandwich with a bunch of random asian style vegetables on it. It’s SOOOOGOOD! Best pulled pork sandwich I’ve ever had. The bread it comes on is amazing, the pork is perfectly flavored and super tender, and the toppings add this delicious, healthy crunch to it. The mojito is extremely refreshing. You can barely taste the alcohol in it, but it definitely gets the job done, so the flavors do a good job at eliminating the alcohol taste. Every one of my friends that tried it loved it and a couple ordered their own. That mojito is up there with the best I’ve had for sure. A great summer drink. Other notable dishes are the short ribs and burger. I have not had either personally, but my friends speak very highly of them. I want to try both of them myself, but it’s hard to get away from that epic sandwich. Definitely give this restaurant a try. While it isn’t a super lively place like Bluwater Bistro, it makes up for it with great food and great service.

Been living down in Leschi a minute now and just discovered this place. Unfortunately we missed happy hour, which would have been pretty sweet given that the food was way over priced regularly. The burgers were pretty dang good, but I could really taste the flare up and it kinda threw me off.(A little bitter) the pork lettuce cups were meh. The pork coulda been seasoned a touch more and lacked an accompanying sauce of some sort.(Dry) The panna cotta was pretty good. All in all, it wasn’t a total disaster. There really are only a few options for food in the area, so I will most def be coming back. But only for happy hour, for sure.

Love this place! The owner, Peter, was kind enough to walk around to the tables and introduce himself. He also owns one of our favorite restaurants, Green Leaf! There are plenty of small plate appetizers to split with your group. Today, we had the calamari and the guacamole & chips. We were so hungry– I missed out on taking pictures! The calamari was perfectly seasoned and the chopped jalapeño was the perfect complement! The guacamole(small portion of guac!) & shrimp/cucumber was ceviche like. The highlight of this appetizer was the shrimp chip — perfectly seasoned and totally made the dish. For our entrees, we had chicken phở, garlic beef vermicelli, and the garlic soy chicken. Chicken Phở– great bowl of soup with delicious broth(always the best way to tell if the soup will be good!). The chicken was nicely seasoned as well! Garlic Beef Vermicelli– beef was very nicely cooked– nice & tender and not dry at all. Garlic Soy Chicken– perfectly cooked. Nice & crispy skin on the outside and the chicken wasn’t dry at all. The bok choy & green onions were the highlight of the dish and really tied into the soy sauce. The dessert was a lychee Panna cotta. Served in an adorable glass and had a great consistency. A bit tart at first bite, but after eating it– I wanted more! I am so glad to have a restaurant close by to our neighborhood with such a friendly owner! Definitely stop by! You’re in luck if Peter is around!

While I normally wouldn’t expect to eat a burger at an Asian restaurant, this delicious Niman Ranch petit burger was so good, I had to order another one!

What a surprise find! Though a neighborhood spot, the food is excellent– I’d give the food a straight 4. It’s worth a drive if you are not from nearby. They’ve got a great menu for an Asian fusion place. The food was flavorful and delicious. Must try– Tofu Banh Mi and those amazing pot stickers! Their Halibut in curry was a standout. I had great expectations from their Lychee Panna cotta, but it seems that dessert department(like a lot of Asian places) is not their specialty. I am taking half star away from them for their Achilles heel. Will be back, looking for that 4th and perhaps 5th star!

We’ve been here twice for dinner and had great food and cocktails both times. The first time we sat inside and had wonderful service– the waitress was friendly and efficient, the food came out quickly, and we had just the right amount of attention(not too much, not too little). We ordered the oysters, the vermicelli bowl, bahn mi, and dessert. All the food was tasty. The second time we went, we brought our dog and sat outside on the patio. It was warm out and the hostess was so sweet she brought out a little take-out bowl for our pup to drink water out of. Very thoughtful and dog friendly. The food and the service were just as good the second time around. I would recommend this place for the good food, friendly service, and dog-friendly patio.

Really amazing location, food and service — how can you go wrong? The range of food is great for those who want to try something a bit new or for those who are looking to be a bit adventurous. The atmosphere is great for a date, business meeting, getting together with friends or hanging with the family. It has touches that make it feel high-end, while at the same time comfy. The service was top-notch. Our server Jade and hostess Huang were VERY personable, friendly and had a sense of humor that really added to the dining experience. Give yourself some extra time to walk down by the water and check out the boats or shopping right down the street. The main challenge(which is not their fault) could be parking. Even on a random weekday evening, it wasn’t the easiest to find, so be sure to have some extra time to not be late.

Holy cow, this place is good! It does great justice to spice and flavor. We were a group of four, we came here for Seattle Restaurant Week. The décor is lovely. The screen is elegant and the little candles in the woody squares(uggh, that is the worst description ever but sometimes terrible descriptions stick in the mind) are calming. We sampled a large variety of the menu: Appetizers: — The Calamari was perfect. It was crunchy and savoury and would go very well with alcoholic beverages. — The Tofu Banh mi was exquisite. The first bite I took was what convinced me that they knew their food. — The Chicken Spring Rolls were very well balanced. They weren’t deep fried and felt healthy — The pot stickers are okay. The rest of the group thought they were good though so YMMV. Entrees: — The Halibut(the fish with the yellow curry) was delicious. It was much more a testament to the curry than the way the fish was prepared. You could put any meat in that and it would be really good — The lamb was very well prepared but a little heavy on the sauce. — The scallops were a really balanced dish. On their own they would have been okay, but the baby corn and sauce underneath made the dish. Their desserts are not that great. The lychee panacotta was terrible — it had some weird form of lychee(perhaps from a can) and must be avoided. The cheesecake was okay. Overall, this is a really great place. It’s unheard off, in an area of town I’ve never been to and I highly recommend it.

We stopped in for a late lunch. They have a limited lunch menu, but nice selection. I got the lemongrass short rib rice bowl. This was a healthy portion of short ribs with kimchi and pickled cucumbers topped with a fried egg. It was very good. The meat was flavorful and tender. The combination of savory, rich, and tart was outstanding. My wife got the tofu banh mi. She really enjoyed it. It came with an arugula salad with fired shallots and pepitas. The service was a bit slow, but friendly. Overall this was a good experience.

A new restaurant by the folks who own Greenleaf, this one has good Vietnamese food, some sophisticated drinks, and none of the interior space or external parking problems of the International District. We had vermicelli with grilled shrimp, Manila clams with pork and tomato sauce, and grilled bread. The grilled bread was fabulous(who knew?), and the shrimp was grilled to bring out the flavor, and the sauce added to it. The interior is spacious and the sound levels are good. When it gets busier, as I’m sure it will, this will be a popping place — but so far, it hasn’t been discovered much, so the dining room wasn’t crowded. With its emphasis on fresh ingredients and personal care from the owners, this is a good place to get a meal — not fancy, but imaginative and tasty. We’ll be going back.

We have been fans of Greenleaf since it opened and the newest addition to its family is a huge risk and a departure from traditional roots. Leschai may not be the best neighborhood to support them. We ordered Lemongrass Beef Shortribs Bowl and the Mini Burger with Arugula Salad from the lunch menu. From the dinner menu, we ordered the Asparagus in Green Curry, Grilled Bread, and Malasadas with Coconut/Lemon sauce. Everything was delicious. The Malasadas may not quite measure up to Leonard’s, but the Coconut/Lemon dunk is to die for. The Mini Burger may be the best burger I’ve had, but it really is mini.

We started with the Pork lettuce boats with Carlton Farms pork shoulder, Fuji apple, kimchi, jalapeño and cilantro. They were very tasty, the apple adding a nice crunch and taste. We followed the boats with smokey sautéed pea vines with garlic, lemongrass, snow peas, shallots and lemon. We don’t what made them smokey but they were quite good. After that came the ginger soy chicken, with bok choy and green onion. It was just OK. The lychee panna cotta with pineapple, lime and coconut cream was a refreshing conclusion. Because we love Green Leaf and expect good things from its owners our guess is this place will get even better over time.

We arrived for lunch shortly after 12 noon with trepidation because there was no one in the restaurant. However, that was shortly dispelled because during the next hour there more folks arrived to sit inside, at the bar, and at the outdoor seating area. That’s a lot to cover for one wait person, but she did it with a smile and was extremely friendly and efficient. We ordered the following from the lunch menu: Banh mi with roast pork($ 10) — artisan roll generously filled with tender and flavorful roast pork, perfect marinade, garlic aioli, balanced with the sliced daikon radishes and carrot. The arugula salad was selected, nicely dressed and topped with crisp shallots. The other choice instead of the salad was the Shrimp Chips, which I had to order as a side($ 3). Large, airy chips with a light chili sprinkling. Hands down better than the multi colored ones of my youth or the ones from Indonesian restaurants. Sure would love a pile of those while watching a Huskies or Seahawks game! The Lemongrass Short Rib Rice Bowl($ 11) — awesome and perfectly sized! Again, tender and flavorful short ribs and perfectly grilled. I had to pick up and gnaw the remaining bits! Served with steamed rice, sliced pickles, and kim chee and topped with a fried egg. I definitely enjoyed their spin on a Korean combo. We shared the Lychee Panna Cotta($ 8) which was a wonderful exclamation point to our lunch. Delicate and chilled lychee panna cotta, topped with a coconut cream, diced pineapple and lime zest. That was a great twist on an Italian dessert. It was nice to revisit Leschi and drive along Lake Washington Boulevard on a late summer day. And yes, this was so worth the I-5 traffic heading south from Shoreline! I look forward to visiting again for lunch(a neighboring table’s vermicelli bowl looked tempting) and/or returning to check out their dinner offerings. Thank you for making my lunch the highlight of this particular day!

I have to start by saying that I have been a fan of The Greenleaf(their original and still very busy Chinatown location and brand) for many years. It can be hard to park in the ID, especially when there is a sports event or road work… so I was very excited to hear from Peter(owner) that he was opening in my back yard — 200 Lake Washington Blvd, Seattle, WA98122. Like many locals passing on a daily basis we have been awaiting the arrival of this alternative dining opportunity. I’ve now been back 5 or 6 times over the last few weeks and am happy to report that they are going from good to great. Yes, like any new business, they continue to listen to customer feedback and fix the small things with regards to the environment within the restaurant space itself. I can tell that they have worked hard in both choosing higher end fixtures and fittings, and ensuring that the space is open and bright. Even the restrooms are super cool, which in my mind is always an indication that the owner«cares» about the entire guest experience. Looks like they now have a sound system, and one large TV for locals to keep an eye on the«game» with no volume. I love the food. There are many new fusion items that I will never see in their Chinatown location, but that just gives me more reason to go back. I especially like the small beef burger with the special sauce and pickle base. Super tender and yummy on their sweet bread bun. My second favorite item is the pulled pork sandwich, which I find thoroughly satisfying especially when the bread is grilled with just a hint of charcoal burn. Delicious. I have now tried every single item on the menu. Every item has been perfectly cooked. There is definitely a selection of meat, fish and poultry entres… all prepared in very different ways. The chef obviously cares about both quality and presentation. I’ll be happy if they just keep their current selection as it is varied enough for me. The service is ultra attentive, and it’s just great to see people use the outside patio which seemed never to be used by the previous occupying businesses. It’s always great when an owner/operator leads his entire team by example and walks tables, introducing himself and answering questions. It’s definitely a great spot for children, and I even seen a couple bring their own wine for dinner and were charged a small corkage fee. Overall, I’m super happy with what I have seen and tasted so far. It’s not the selection nor the price points of the more price conscious International District Asian restaurants. It is however very good value for both the location and quality of food and service. Thank you Peter for having the courage to open another small business, and for the alternative watering hole for us locals. Good luck!

I had dinner at Alicia(named after the owner’s daughter) last night, grabbing a seat at the small but well-appointed bar. The restaurant is next to Daniel’s Broiler, in the space formerly occupied by Chao Praya, Ruby Asian Dining, and other ill-fated eateries. I hope this one fares better, because the garlic steak vermicelli bowl(served with bean sprouts, marinated cucumber, herbs, and – best of all – fried shallots) I had was good-sized and *really* tasty. But while I would cheerfully pay its $ 13 price tag again, shelling out ten bucks for a bánh mì(the classic Vietnamese sandwich available for around three dollars in dozens of VN delis around town) will not be easy, no matter how awesome it is.(Maybe it’s cheaper on the lunch menu.) The closing hours are not yet set in stone, but they open at 11:00 everyday. They’re still working out some kinks(e.g., their Internet was down last night, which killed their credit card reader and their phone), but the staff is cheery and the food – what I had of it – is good, so I hope things work out. I will definitely return soon.
