This is one of the few places that is open late in the area. When I’m up late studying, Papa Chevo’s comes through! My favorite is their Taco Salad — it’s not like any taco salad I’ve ever had before. Instead of a taco shell, they put their fixins on top of a bed of tortilla chips. It’s easy to eat and delicious. I get it with carnitas, which is always tender and never dry. They also have great big breakfast burritos — they will make it however you like. Asada fries are also an excellent choice. I wasn’t a big fan of their crunchy tacos.

This place was a staple when I was living on the peninsula. The shrimp burrito is my favorite and a must try! If you’re looking for authentic Mexican this is the place to go.

This place is the best stop to get Asada fries! They are so good and pretty fast. Great price.

Seaside location is my favorite one for breakfast burritos! Big size and very yummy! My favorite is the bacon burrito. It has eggs, cheese, bacon and potatoes! The location is very bland not much décor, but I usually go in and order to go.

A little pricey but it tastes really good! Me and my girlfriend got a Carne Asada California Burrito and a Chorizo Breakfast Burrito and they both were pretty good! The Carne Asada Burrito could’ve used some avocado and it would’ve been perfect!

I like the food but not the service. Once I got the wrong order and the cashier who was a man argued with me, with a really bad attitude I felt completely intimidated.

Amazing burritos! I always get the bacon breakfast burrito. Delicious! Service is good and fairly quick, best burrito place in town in my opinion! I go here all the time! Prices are decent as well. Highly recommend!

While vacationing in Monterey, my boy wanted a breakfast burrito. We happened to see this place while driving to Target. When we walked into this place it was no frills. Girl at the register was nice. We ordered 2 bacon egg and cheese burrito’s. To our delight, they were outstanding. A little more $ than what we are used to paying. It was well worth it. One of the best breakfast burrito’s we have found. Will go back next time we are in town.

Just ordered a burrito, carne asada no beans, no avocado, $ 10.80. Damn this better be a good burrito. There’s a place in seaside that makes the best I’ve tasted in Monterey County for $ 7.50.. And I have a least 2 burritos a week in different restaurants. I feel like I should’ve went there. I hope I don’t regret this decision. Stay tuned I’ll leave more info after I eat my $ 11.00 burrito!!!

I will not go there again. The place was dirty and the food was cold. The guy wasn’t friendly when he took our order. In fact I don’t think he spoke more than two words. There was no toilet paper or paper towels in the bathroom. Not a good experience.

Awesome, went there after a bike race, it hit the spot perfectly, I eat a lot of burritos so my standards are high, the tortilla they used was probably the best I’ve had

I had been driving past this place for years when I finally broke down and tried it a few times at a friend’s recommendation. Let me start by saying that this is definitely not a place to sit and eat with family and friends. This is a to-go place. The tables in the restaurant are used by people for sitting while they wait for their to-go order. I’ve had the sausage/bacon breakfast burrito a couple of different times. It’s not very good. The burrito itself is a decent size but all it is in there is eggs and potatoes. They will chop up whatever kind of meat you order into tiny pieces and sprinkle it throughout. I feel like they think they are tricking people into thinking that they are getting a decent amount of meat by sprinkling it throughout. The menu also states there is cheese somewhere but I almost never get any and when I do it’s like a tablespoon of shredded cheese for the whole damn burrito! Just because the burrito is wrapped up doesn’t mean people won’t figure out what’s inside! The other thing I don’t like about this place is how they handle their call-in orders. I like to call ahead so I don’t have to stand in the line with the… vibrant… people who frequent here(something about getting panhandled while I’m in the middle of paying for my food doesn’t sit well with me). However, Papa-Chevos doesn’t treat call in orders like most restaurants. They don’t actually make your order until you get there(unless they are completely dead slow in the restaurant). They basically take your call-in as a courtesy heads up that you’ll be coming in to order something. It’s irritating to call something in and then have to stand in the back of the line anyway and pretend you aren’t overhearing people discussing drug transactions or screaming at each other in Spanish. Conclusion: Below average quality food. Cheap. Not a good area.

Called in a simple order & came in ten minutes later like they said. I waited another 25 minutes for 2 breakfast burritos. Customers who came in after me placing their orders got their food & finished it before I received mine. SLOWESTSERVICEEVER.

I like coming here often. but i agree with a lot of people that the Marina and Monterey locations are better! I went here last night and i got carne asada fries and my girlfriend got the beef tacos. The asada fries were great as always, but the tacos on the other hand… EEHH 1 Taco was not good at all. Im ok with shredded beef… but when the meat is burnt and as crunchy as the shell. Not good.

Was extremely disappointed with this papa chevo’s, the ones in Monterey and Marina are way more superior, definite 5 stars. The lady didn’t understand my order, they took forever to make my tacos, and they messed up my order.

WOW! Had the Carnitas quesadilla with jalapenos! Delicious! The menu is great and the prices are very resonable. Have never stopped at this location until today and only have treid Marina location for a breakfast burrito on way out of town. I will be frequenting this place for lunch for sure now. It’s not fancy, just good!

Good Mexican food, cheap and fast. Try the chili relleno burrito with a whole wheat tortilla!

Pretty tasty, and really good value for the amount of food you get. the husband and I called in our order and headed right over, only had to wait 2 mins for our food. Inside was kinda shabby, and plain. But as long as the food is good, I don’t really care. My only issues. the sauce on the chili relleno burrito was kinda bland so the burrito was kinda blah. It did have the chili relleno flavor I was looking for tho. Next time I think I’d opt for it not in a burrito. Also the enchilada sauce is boring too. Carne asada nachos were awesome(didn’t see fries which seem to be popular down here, so I tried the«chips» instead), as was the pollo asada burrito. the red sauce in the little cups was pretty amazing too. All in all, we’ll be back to try more. :)
