The food was excellent!!! The food presentation was beautiful. Everything we ate was suburb. We walked in having no idea what type is restaurant this was(was it Irish? Seafood? Italian?) and a little bit concerned of what the food quality was going to be. We almost got up and walked out. But I am SO glad we did not! Wait staff were all very nice as well.

Had dinner here last night… not the worst I’ve ever had but certainly not the best! Atmosphere is fantastic greater nicely and seated at a fairly out of the way table well ok we will be out of your way no problem. The waitress steps over and literally mumbles something about water giggles then walks away. Ok so then she is back we thought maybe she is just greeting then the real waitress will arrive… um nope more mumbling more stupid giggles and again gone. Shirt story not good service food on the other hand was a bit better but not stellar. I ordered steamers and they were solid, also ordered the wedge salad, can’t mess up a wedge so safe there. Entrée was the Shepard cottage somthing or other not on the mark at all. I am a big eater took 4 bites thinking maybe the deeper into this thing I get the better it will become… nope didn’t even start to finish it… what a shame. Over all ok place nice venue but if you are in town and in walking distance I would probably just do the apps and salad.

We showed up as a party of ten with five children and the waiters didn’t bat an eye at the size of our group or our two toddlers. We sat at a big table along the window and enjoyed the atmosphere. Our food was delicious. I shared the turkey pesto burger and also had an incredibly delicious salad. The fried artichoke hearts were a group favorite and the sweet potato fries were a hit with the little ones.

We brought our toddler and 5 month old in here and were so happy to be able to enjoy happy hour as a family. Everything we ordered tasted great, had decent sized portions and our drinks came super quickly. Good ambiance and friendly waitstaff. Will definitely go back next time we visit Seaside.

Dinner on a slow evening in Seaside. It was after labor day, and many of the restaurants close early. As a result we wandered into McKeown’s after trying several places that had already closed by 8pm. My wife had the salmon and did not like it because the salmon was dry. I had their shepherd’s pie type dish with stew and mash potatoes on top(baked). It was very good. I’d recommend that dish. The service was adequate. In fact, our waitress was quite friendly and informative. All things considered, this is a very good alternative to having to go to fast food places after hours in Seaside.

We were there for brunch. It’s all pork based dishes. We don’t eat pork so we have only few options. Their biscuits were terrible as well as pastries. We won’t be back.

My husband got bangers and mash, The mash potatoes and gravy were very good but the sausage had weird herbs in it which he claims gave them a kitchen cleaner taste. I tried the sausages and while they had a strong taste, I thought that they tasted fine. The upside the service was good and the atmosphere was relaxing. The beer from Fort George was also delicious. Also, the Irish Sheppard’s pie was yummy, and the complimentary sourdough bread served before the meal was a nice treat.

Good restaurant. Loved the BBQ chicken salad. Had that to go and it was perfect. This place get very busy, which slows down the food. Overall great place and will visit again.

Ate there this evening. We were promptly seated and provided with water. Our waiter was Morgan, and she was friendly, helpful and efficient. Spouse had the baby gem Caesar salad and loved it. I had the chef’s version of New England clam chowder. Loaded with chunks of potatoes and bacon pieces. Likely the best I’ve ever eaten. We shared a side of sour dough bread. This location is in easy walking distance of all the downtown hotels.

My friends and I came here for dinner and all had a really good time. Great service, good atmosphere and fair prices, especially for the quality of food. We got the Kobe burger and the patty was HUGE — just the way I like it! The fries were awesome too(they reminded me of the fries that Dick’s Drive In has in Seattle, which are fresh from the potato). I can definitely see myself coming back here to try other dishes on the menu!

Fantastic! Lots of options in this place with a few Irish favorites. My husband had the crab stuffed salmon & it was delish. I’ll be back. Kids pizza was big enough for them to share & my 3 year old likes looking at the live crab tank.

We ordered the chowder, buttermilk fried oysters and the crab cakes. We also ordered the chicken and fries for the kids. The chowder was substantial with bits of bacon in it with a very light flavor. I thought this could have had a little more flavor. The crab cakes were tasty and very meaty. It came with mashed potatoes and vegetables and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. They were steamed but still crunchy. The fried oysters were perfectly cooked. Some places can over cook oysters or calamari leaving them chewy. This place did it just rightThe batter was so light and had good flavor. The kids were satisfied with their chicken and french fries.

I got really bad food poisoning after eating the fish & chips with tarter sauce at this place. I have never felt so weak and sick. I think the tarter sauce is what caused the food poisoning. My husband had the fish special and was pleased with it.

BEWAREOFFOODPOISONING! This is not a good place. My wife had the fish & chips with tarter sauce and got really bad food poisoning. In addition to that, it was really greasy. I would steer clear from this place. The seafood is not fresh or the tarter sauce was old. Ruined my vacation after eating at this place.

Wonderful brunch at the coast! I had the yummy quiche and perfectly ripened fresh fruit. They also served us some warm mini blueberry scones sprinkled with powdered sugar. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Great place!

Place was nice and decent ambience pretty good mimosas. On the other hand meals were so so and a bit on the pricey side for the quality of food.

This restaurant has been consistently great every time we have visited. The menu selection, pricing and portion size are all top notch. Atmosphere is casual with a slight touch of elegance with starched and rolled linen napkins. Sitting with my back to the window, the evening sun streaming in was welcoming and felt good after a full day working. Hungry patrons continued to stream in the door and the place was buzzing with many couples and families lively conversation, as McKeown’s Restaurant was almost at capacity. Carlos our waiter was prompt, friendly and light hearted, commenting about our orders and smiling as he recorded them. I ordered a glass of the house red which was a generous pour of an oaky and tasty Cabernet blend. All meals start with warm fresh baked bread and butter. Tonight, I enjoyed the Thursday night steak special which By the Way for $ 10.00 is a steal of a deal! My 8 ounce steak was thick cut, tender and cooked as ordered to a perfect medium. The loaded baked potato included blue cheese crumbles, sour cream, butter, chives and bacon. Leaving feeling full and satisfied, we strolled down Broadway to walk it off on Seaside’s famous promenade. Next visit will be Sunday for their brunch buffet!

I was intrigued by their menu and what I could see of the décor from the outside. After looking at the menu I couldn’t wait. We decided to go during happy hour for the drinks but order off the dinner menu. We were seated quickly and the waiter came by to take our drink orders almost immediately. Food was absolutely fantastic, best meal I’ve had at the beach. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Truly a hidden treasure!
