This Peet’s has the worst customer service. I went on October 19th around 2:15pm and the guy that took my order(I think he’s a shift lead) has an attitude problem. I love Peet’s Coffee but I’d rather go to Starbucks than deal with this pessimistic fool.

For a semester and a half, I went here for a bite to eat before my evening classes out of pure convenience(I’m a commuter student and spend most of my time in the library and didn’t want to have to walk down to the DC/Otter Express and back). The serve Peet’s, which I like, and they only have a few dinner options(pre-packaged stuff is okay, paninis are DELICIOUS). Recently, however, they have been running out of good dinner options(I get the impression that food is carted over in the morning), so I have ditched this joint for the Otter Express. It’s good for a quick bite to eat(the lines are short or go quickly) or a caffeine fix before your next class, but I wouldn’t recommend it for meals. Staff is friendly and is all students, so yay for campus jobs!

I always get black coffee, and it’s consistently good and hot. The best part about this place though is the pastries they serve. Orange-glazed cranberry scone. Must try. They get all of their sandwiches and pastries from local verndors which I think is awesome.

As this being my first semester here, i’m going to assume that these comments were based on a different staff. I’ve been here a few times and every time the staff has been polite. I am not a fan of Pete’s Coffee so, as always i was disappointed with their coffee drinks. The sandwhiches are meh. About what you would expect a pre-packaged sandwich would be. The wraps are the only item in that cold case that i could say was not bad. The panini’s are amazing. Hot, cheesy and new! I recommend getting one of those. On the whole, not impressed, but it’s about what i expect from a Pete’s located inside of a library.

I come here regularly as I have classes in the library. I don’t do fancy coffee, but the service has always been friendly, as quick as the line allows, and clean. The packaged snacks are pretty good(I like the hummus and pretzels) and the sandwiches are okay, nothing special, but they cost less than four bucks, so. Don’t understand the two extremely negative reviews below. Also: boooooo starbucks.

the food is disgusting, the coffees are terrible, the workers are rude… with the exception of a couple… i avoid this place at all costs. You will definitely find me across campus at our new Starbucks! It’s sad because when working on homework, i would want nothing more than to grab some amazingness. yeah no. I have learned to pack my own snacks.

When I attended CSUMB I worked in the Library and relied on these guys for coffee and breakfast almost every morning I worked. I don’t know how they are with the fancy drinks but they make a good cup of black coffee and would always have something tasty to eat — fresh pastries, wraps, and sandwiches,(a decent variety too as a vegetarian). The baristas were always friendly and learned my name quickly, and they kept the tables and cream/sugar area clean and tidy. Highly recommended place for a morning cup of joe, a quick stop between classes, or a late night study session.

One word: TERRIBLE! My goodness words cannot fathom how much I hate this place. Both myself and a friend decided to get an Iced mocha at this particular Peet’s Coffee, and it was the worst four dollars spent and the most disgusting mocha our taste buds had experienced Let me start off with the terrible baristas that work there. Yes, I am being very harsh, and maybe I shouldn’t be since they are College kids trying to pay their tuition. But common at least do your job without getting me sick for a consecutive three days, where I was not able to control my stomach pains or nausea. I would NOT recommend this place, instead take a 5 minute to the Starbucks at Target down the street. It is the best choice to make.

The Library Café at CSUMB consistently has long lines, but it doesn’t feel like you’re waiting forever. The staff is always friendly and gets your order right! They also have a good variety of to go snacks and bakery items. It’s a great place for a meeting or to just hang out.
