I took my wife and daughter here to celebrate her graduation. What a great dining experience to cap off a great day! Excellent food, great service, beautiful view! My wife and I have been to the ABG many times and it’s always been great. Even when it’s busy and you have to wait, who cares when you can have some drinks outside and watch the waves roll in.

I am very particular about my calamari. I have to say this has been the best thus far! Everything has been an extremely pleasant experience from the service and the food. Wine Choice suggested by the waitress was amazing the view of the ocean sets the mood. I came here with my husband and three children this restaurant was all that too accommodating for my family. Cannot rave more about this delicious selection suggested by a friend. If you are in the area looking for good Seafood & Steak this is the place to be. Desert was right on point. I think I found my new favorite restaurant. Our waitress has been running around, this restaurant is extremely busy time of the food and service has been impeccable. Extremely pleased come with your wife or husband or bring your family either way you will not be let down!

This is a disappointment. We ate here on Saturday June 11,2016. About 7 pm we arrived waited an hour at the bar for a table. Drinks an the appetizer were all good even bacon at the bar to eat for guests. The 100 degree air temp inside not good. So we were seated outside for dinner. Already having read the menu at the bar we knew we both wanted the sea bass sounded delicious. It wasn’t! The presentation was with sea grass on top that buried the food. The eggplant on top of the fish was mushy not roasted the artichoke under cooked and cold and the fish was swimming in the sauce. It was sweet but yet sour which made it unable to taste the fish. Unfortunately my boyfriend wouldn’t let me send the entrees back. We food almost two full meals to a dog at home. Then when our stomaches woke us in the middle of the night. My boyfriend then agreed for me writing the disappointment. We were so looking forward to this restaurant and the fish as this was his birthday celebration and where he wanted to go. The ratings were great and the menu very enticing. I’m still disappointed today as this was suppose to be a spectacular experience. Beautiful setting and the patios overlooking the ocean. The chairs are hard on the butt you need seat pads. Again I can’t express my disappointment enough as we were so looking forward to the sea bass as it had been on our minds for over a month.

I recently had the opportunity to eat here again. We had a great dinner and nice experience. This place is a bit pricey for NJ so it is more for special occasions. The only other downsides to this restaurant are: limited parking, seating only when entire party arrives(even if just parking), and loud dining room. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice seafood meal.

As soon as we walked in the hostess was rude! One of our family members had a tank top on and they didn’t accept us because of that! It’s the middle of the afternoon and we are on the beach!!! What is proper attire??? Can’t comment on the food because we didn’t have a chance too! Unfortunate!

Great food and nice view. We sat by the Bar right away but be prepared to wait. We were told they only took reservations for parties of 6 or more. One of the better restaurants in the area. Will be going back again.

We walked in on a Fri night without reservations. It was off season so we were lucky to be seated in about 25 minutes. The food was good but the nice part is the view of the ocean. Would definitely go back but you may want to get a reservation if you want to try this place out.

We walked in the door and we were greeted my Chef Mike! So pleasant and personable! We sat at our table overlooking the ocean and began our dining experience with Michelle. Every course of our meal was exquisite! My filet mignon was the absolute best I have ever had! And if that wasn’t enough, the chocolate molten dessert with fresh whipped cream and strawberries put the cherry on top of this meal! Jamie did an amazing job preparing each course!!! Can’t wait to go back!

The staff discriminates on who to give seats or not. My wife was wearing a $ 500 dress and had her bathing suit under it. It looked like a summer dress. We were told to leave yet another regular was wearing the same type of dress and bathing suit, but was a white older woman got a table right away. Definitely adding this to the list of discriminating business. FYI They are located on the beach lol. What a strange business.

Great food with an ever better view on the south end of the island. This restaurant has a laid back atmosphere with a lovely live pianoman on this Wednesday evening that I happened to skipped across this popular Seaside Beach gem. Our waitress Caroline was an absolute darling! Super sweet and fun to talk to. She recommended a wonderfully delicious main entrée, the filet mignon medallions– very good. The one thing I would say is that some of the dish ware /forks on my moms place setting were dirty. They immediately changed them out for fresh ones, but still. Other than that amazing experience!

I’ve been several times and the food is always prepared the same way, absolutely perfect. I personally love the filet medallions, if you like crab and bleu cheese this is the meal for you. Ask for the funnel cake fries for dessert. Or anything. All of the food is great and the view is even better. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. have patience in the summer months. If you don’t like crowds, come in the winter where they give 25% of your check every Thursday. I would highly recommend Chef Mike’s again and again. But be prepared for hefty prices. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

I’m not quite sure where to start with this review. I think it is hands down the best restaurant on the island for so many reasons. I think the first impression anyone would have is the view you see when you walk up to it. It’s set right at the edge of the beautiful beach with a view of the ocean. Coming around sunset you get to see a rainbow of colors light up the sky over the ocean from the sun setting on the opposite side of the horizon. The restaurant and bar itself is not huge by any means, but during the off season it’s just perfect for the locals. The summer time gets extremely busy but if you time it right you’ll be able to enjoy it and get a seat at the bar or in the dining room. It is called«Chef Mike’s ABG» and all due respect to him of course, but the Chef you will see behind the flames is Chef Jamie. The food is incredible here. You know how when your grandma would cook for you and the food always came out so damn delicious? Well, I know for a fact that Chef Jamie uses the exact same special ingredient in every thing she cooks, and that ingredient is LOVE. Her passion for cooking and pleasing people’s palate comes out in every dish she makes. I have been lucky enough to meet her and express to her how talented she truly is. She’s an absolute wonderful person on top of being so talented. We will always feel at home at Chef Mike’s because of the close knit group of servers and awesome bartenders that take such good care of you. I will always recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants a great all around meal and perfect atmosphere at the beloved jersey shore.

This is one of the best restaurant experiences Kim and I have had. We ate at the bar and met one of the bartenders who has been working here for a long time. We liked him so much we ate at the bar. The menu and specials were phenomenal. Our meals were delivered in a reasonable amount of time considering how busy the restaurant was. We will definitely be coming back for a visit during the winter months. Part duex Kim and I have gone back to Chef Mikes numerous times in the last 7 months. We cannot say enough about the wait staff, the chef and the bar service. Chef Jamie Castaldo has stepped up into her element(with Chef Mikes blessing) and continues to astound us with over the top dinners and desserts. Her passion for her work and her service are top notch. Dianne, Mike and Danielle are some of the best bartenders in the business giving outstanding service to their clients and patrons. Brian is the GM. He is warm, friendly, caring and bends over backwards to make sure everyone’s experiences are unforgettable. Jenn & Michelle are some of the best waitresses in the business offering fast, friendly and efficient service. Chef Mike has hired the best staff for his restaurant and leaves it in their hands to offer the best to the Seaside Heights area. The restaurant has limited seating In the bar and seating area so I suggest getting there early. Do us a favor, save us some seats. We will be back.

We absolutely love ABG. It is our favorite restaurant in Ocean County. Tonight I ordered the house salad which was light yet delicious. My husband started with crispy calamari. For dinner I had the lobster tail special which came with garlic mashed potatoes and spinach. It was amazing. My husband had the barbecue pork chop on the restaurant week menu with mashed sweet potatoes and onion rings. We both were in heaven as we devoured the apple crisp and lava molten cake. Once again we were 100% satisfied with ABG. Both the service and the outstanding food make it our go-to in Ocean County. Thanks Chef Mike!

Wow, where to start. Okay, let’s start at the bar. They serve BACONATTHEBAR! Not peanuts or pickled eggs but, BARBACON! The staff was wonderful, and I truly mean wonderul! What a great experience overall. Food– 6 out of 5 stars. The portions were perfect and cooked just as we requested it. Service– 7 out of 5 stars. Everyone I interacted with there smiled, was courteous, and seemed totally genuine. What a pleasure. Ambience– 5 out of 5 stars. We dined outdoors on a beautiful night. No complaints there. Must have– Crab bisque. I’m a tough critic and it’s really hard for me not to find something I didn’t like. I guess I’ll have to go back again, and again, and again to figure it out.

Location, food, service… all excellent. We went very early on a Saturday night(5:30) and it was packed!!! Luckily it was only two of us and we got the last available table. Service was great and we never felt rushed. Everything we ordered was delicious. The views of the ocean just topped the night off. If it was a little cooler we would have sat outside.

We went to dinner on Monday 7⁄20 and had an overall great experience. Starting with the service, I have to say it was top notch. Our server(Kate I believe) was very professional. We never felt rushed and was extremely attentive and sweet. The menu was extensive and creative with a large tapas menu. There was basically something for everyone on the menu. We had our 8 year old daughter with us and although there is no children’s menu they had plenty of offerings. I would note this would probably not be a place to bring kids younger then 8. The food was excellent however there are a couple things that could improve. Beginning with the appetizers– the tomato motz eggplant stack. I was unsure about the fried eggplant aspect in this dish but it was some of the best eggplant I have ever had. Flash fried and crisp yum. My husband had the grilled octopus with polenta which was perfectly done and he absolutely loved it. Next the cervicie. Hate to say this but it was horrible. In fact it was more of a seafood salad in a martini glass? No lime or citrus, typically cervicie has a nice bite to it marinated in citrus juices. This was dry and loaded with what tasted like saffron? Totally random. The dinner entrees we very good. My red snapper in parchment paper was fantastic. Was very light and airy, not drowning in heavy sauces or spice. It may have been a little too well done because the bottom of paper and cous cous was a bit burned. However, this didn’t stop me from eating the whole thing! My husband had blackened Mahi and shrimp which was excellent as well. I would like to note that they love cous cous here, it’s served with many of the entrees. They could get a little more creative with the accompaniments. The desserts — the Morton chocolate cake was standard, nothing memorable. The funnel cake fries were amazing!!! I would note it’s a huge portion and a table could share one plate.

This place was a fantastic place for the whole family. We were a party of 6 and a baby and sat right by the beautiful window overlooking the beach. Our server was excellent and their wine and drink selections were great. Go for: Wedge Salad, any main fish entrée Skip: Cheese and Olive plate and fried cauliflower tapas Tip: Entrance was a bit hard to find. Keep walking around the perimeter of the restaurant.
