Food was very good! Drinks were excellent… service was great! Not your typical ocean view restaurant but did not matter as the food, drink and service made up for it!

Stopped in to have a bite to eat and was pleasantly surprised that they have live music. Comfy, cozy place with friendly staff that make you feel at home. I ordered the prime rib, served at the perfect temp with creamy fresh mashed potatoes. Great flavor and au jus sauce. Enjoyed the Belfast Bay Lobster Ale with dinner. My girlfriend ordered the award winning lobster mac and cheese. It was a portion big enough for two. Had to sample some just for quality assurance and it was amazing, creamy cheese sauce and cracker crust. My only complaint is the lack of macaroni due to so much lobster in the dish ;) A must stop for a great meal with phenomenal service.

We’ve been here before and never been disappointed. This time was no exception. A Belfast Lobster Ale and a William Hill Cabernet while listening to Mark«Guitar» Miller play the blues helped pass the time until our dinner was served. The grilled salmon and the haddock meuniere were both delicious. Another round of drinks and another set from Miller’s guitar were the perfect ending to a lovely evening.

Kick butt lobster Mac and cheese. Burger exactly as ordered. Maine shrimp excellent. Chowder was great as we’ll. steamers not something I would order again what a local calls clams and what a ny native calls a clam are WAY different. Service friendly and efficient Male server was VERY nice. Very nautical atmosphere and nice bar to relax at. At 18 bucks the lobster Mac had huge claw everywhere you don’t get this size portion for twice the price Will go back next year.

If you see the big flashy sign out front talking about live music and steak specials, you might think as I did that this place would be some pub grub and bud light– which is nice and all but what a GEM. Everything was hand made and homemade: fresh, hot potato chips with sour cream and onion dip, delicious haddock, gluten free options, killer signature drinks… Something for everyone. We’ll be back!

My friend and I have had dinner here on several occasions — while the food is average — the convenience to home is nice. Today however has made me reconsider whether convenience is worth the aggravation of the poor service. We were seated and ordered our dinner when a second couple arrived. They were eating their meal and ours had yet to arrive. When I inquired about the delay there was no explanation for the wait. 50 minutes after ordering our meals arrived — my friends was a simple hamburger. The manager/owner chatted with people in the room and consciously avoided our table. A half hearted apology was offered by a second waitress(ours never said a word about the issues). Service is everything. A marginal meal can be made better with the right server– today they failed!

We were disappointed with this place. Entrees were either overcooked or undercooked, the salad was dead and the dressing was just odd. They charged us for a side of lemons. Pretty underwhelming all around. The service was nice and the interior was okay, and they were very apologetic when we had to send a dish back, but it doesn’t really make up for the bad quality, overpriced, poorly cooked food.

We were looking for something different to try and stumbled upon the Mermaid. It was a bit early for dinner on a Saturday night so there were not many people there. We ordered the fresh chips and onion dip that were yummy. The Lobster Mac and Cheese was amazing. We also had prime rib and steak tips, both very nice. The pumpkin cheesecake was to die for… stop you won’t regret it!

Tons of lobster in the super cheesy lobster Mac n cheese. Loved it and loved the fact they could make it gluten free. My fiancé wasn’t as impressed with her meal so I’ll leave her at home next time!

On a drive south from Mount Desert Island, Mermaid Restaurant was one of the few places open past 9pm, and it turned out to be wonderful — home cooked dinner from scratch at its best, and great company of the bartender and Inn guests. Had a very memorable evening here, will gladly return.

The Mermaid Pub has been a must stop at spot whenever we make a trip to Searsport. We have been there a number of times since it opened and have not been disappointed. The burgers are great, the lobster Mac and cheese is a true pleasure. Have had the ribs and on my last trip went out on a limb and had the pizza. As a Jersey boy who has had a lifetime worth of pizza and has yet to find great pizza in Maine, I was very happy with the pizza at the Mermaid. Best review I can give is that I will definitely get it again. What really tops off the night at the Mermaid is the great service and the entertainment that is provided on many nights. I highly recommend making The Mermaid Pub a stop whether you are a Searsport resident or just visiting.
