Had the most amazzzzing breakfast on Tuesday! Huge portions I took the other half to my hubby for lunch! Highlander has several different meats with eggs and potatoes with delicious ranchero sauce so there’s no need for salsa!

I visited Hennessy’s tavern with my family for lunch on a Friday. We had great service & great food! the crispy calamari was very tasty but wish it was a little bit bigger of a portion. I had the California salad & it was very light & refreshing. My only critique would be to ask for the dressing on the side. Otherwise, great dining experience!

Great drinks! And stellar service! I come in here all the time and they’re always accommodating to my needs. Their burgers are excellent! As wells as their Turkey dinners on Sunday’s. They also have trivia on Thursdays nights!

Came in for lunch on Sat, sat on the patio, I was impressed on how tidy and clean the restaurant was. I ordered the Bleu cheese bacon burger and was it was so flavorful. I ordered the vodka lemonade as usual and I’ve never been disappointed. You can’t beat FRESH squeezed lemon juice. It is by far one of the best cocktails on the menu. Thanks to our server Rachel and the excellent service she provided.

Our meal was the worst meal we’ve ever had at Hennessy’s. My husband and I like to come here to have beers and share the poke’ dish and calamari appetizer. Since we order this all the time, we’re familiar with flavors; however, the presentation of the dishes are always different. There is no uniformity with their dishes. We’ve made this comment to the servers on several occasions, they agreed. The poke’ this time was marginal at best. We asked to for easy dressing and they put it on the side. The pieces were cut too small and the wontons were over cooked, so much that a few were burnt. They even hid the worst one under the all the fish; we couldn’t eat it. The calamari was over cooked, too salty, cold and tuff to chew. The presentation was terrible also. It just looked as if they dumped the calamari on plain mixed greens. It also had too many tentacles pieces for my liking. The only good thing about our recent visit was our server. She was wonderful. We didn’t send our food back because we were too hungry and were afraid the cook would do something to our food. If this was our first meal at Hennessy’s, we wouldn’t of come back. Due the inconsistency of the food, we will be not visiting it in the near future.

We have been coming to Hennessey’s for years. My wife loves the Irish Nachos. So we missed out on a brunch that we thought was going to be great, so we decided to come here for a late lunch instead. It wasn’t too busy — Sunday afternoon. We sat on the patio and were lucky enough to have Mary as our Waiter. She took our drink order. We started with a Bottle of William Hill Chardonnay. I like this wine! It was fruity with a little spice and creamy too. We enjoyed our wine whilst our famous«Irish Nachos» were being prepared. The Nachos were PERFECT. The best I’ve had ever. Perfectly cooked with stringy cheese and the little chives and sour cream… So when the nachos were gone we had to decide on another appetizer. Being a self-proclaimed connoisseur of Buffalo Wings, I am pretty picky. After Mary had assured me that these were actually Buffalo«Flavored» wings and not actually Buffalo Wings, I decided to order them. These were particularly tasty. We decided that we had enough to eat and enjoyed the rest of our wine. Mary was an awesome waiter. In addition to the food, she provided excellent wine service and continued to pour our wine until it ran dry and offered us a little more. The restaurant was very clean, we were on the patio and it was clean and the weather was perfect. The restrooms were clean. So overall: Service 5 stars, Food 5 stars, 5 stars. Everything was GREAT. «As good as it gets!»

Relaxed atmosphere, and some bargains at happy hour. The Ahi tacos, 2 for $ 5, are fantastic.

Ordered cazadores reposado and could tell it was watered down. Told the server and she came back with the bottle saying it came straight from it(I never doubted it had been watered down after being poured). But regardless, the liquid in the bottle was clear and not the color it should’ve been. Can’t believe some bars still do that. So cheap.

So, my review is a little off, because I LOVE coming here, the food is good, not great, however, the last time I came by, I was a victim of absolutely atrocious service. As a matter of fact, there were at one time, 4 people congregated at one end of the bar, refusing to WALK to the other end of the bar to pull a drink ticket. Mind you, the bartender was just bragging to us about how she had walked 10,000 steps already today. So much irony, and such a dismal experience. Like I said, this is one of my favorite spots in Seal Beach, with many friends who are actually employed here. With that being said, don’t expect much from the Saturday afternoon crew, if you are looking for prompt service… Actually, if you are looking for service at all. Best time to cruise through is when a game is on(hockey, nfl, etc.) and there are multiple bartenders available. Also, St Patricks Day here is bananas. I really want to update this review, but for now, 3 stars. :(

Best f**ing jalepeno margarita I have ever had in my life! Not too sweet, perfect amount of spice and all their ingredients are fresh. Gorgeous courteous service. Always a good time when we come. Local and travelers destination. I don’t leave reviews but was inclined to write this because it was that good. This drink changed the way I look at spicy cocktails. The manager Brian is a drink mixing God.

Brian the bartender was awesome! It was my first time here and he made me a muddled blackberry margarita and it was amazing. He was very attentive and helpful. I will definitely be back!

Awesome place, atmosphere is perfect. THE restaurant/bar to be in if you’re in Seal. Mike, the bar manager is an expert mixologist, his craft cocktails are bar none top notch.

Worst service !! Waited about 30 minutes, first got someone else’s order, then our order came and it was wrong. in the mean time our server was not on the floor so my husband ordered our drinks from the bar which we never got No server to be found, till another server named Brianna” shows up and said «your food is coming» with a get over it attitude…, like no big deal we decided we didn’t like to be talked to that way and decided to leave when we complained she replied«what ever« we never did see our first sever. my husband and I are in our fifty’s and we know when we are being mocked we’re very unhappy with the service.

I’ll finally review this place and give them a 3. The bar service is fine but unless you’re over 45 or a 25 year old Mormon couple then this place is not your cup of tea. And then every single band they have sounds like or is covering Jack Johnson. He was great in 2003 but move on. I have no reason to give a bad review because they do their job well but I drank my half of beer which I paid $ 10 for and moved on. The setup is nice, food looks good and people did seem to be enjoying themselves. I’m not anti but just not my or anyone I know’s scene.

It was good to step out of the heat and into Hennesseys. The further into the bar the cooler it got. Had Stella on tap and amazing fresh-cut potato chips. Yum. The fries are frozen potatoes but the chips are fresh. Friendly service and not in a rush to kick you out. If you like sports there are multiple tvs to feast your eyes on but they don’t detract if you are not interested.

Wow the best burger I have had in ages I literally can’t remember the last time I had an amazing burger. The Spicy Lass (ghost pepper jack cheese, chipotle sauce, lettuce, tomato & avocado)

Back once again. Met a couple here this go round and of course we were at the bar. As usual Katie was awesome! always there to refill your beverage, take your order for food with a smile. one thing you can count on from this lil lady is a smile, quick and accurate service, and if you’ve been there more than once, she is genuinely interested in what you’ve been up to! Ya know ladies and gents, I went with my standard Capn Crunch French Toast and wasn’t disappointed! Imagine your standard french toast, but then ad pulverized captain crunch as a crumb coat. if you enjoy the salty /sweat textures and flavors, give it a whirl! Both my girlfriend and I still love the food at this place, but even more importantly is the customer service we are given.

I don’t even know where to start. Let’s start by saying that it was probably the most lackluster dining experience I’ve had to kick off my summer. I gave it one star for the name recognition. This location should be ashamed of the way they treat their patrons and the garbage they try to disguise as food. My husband and I met in Seal Beach this morning for breakfast. Since I’m unfamiliar with the area, I didn’t know which way to walk. My husband spotted a sign that said«Serving Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner» and saw all the people in the patio area. We figured it should be decent at least. Not. We sat for what felt like forever before anyone even acknowledged that we were there. Our server brought us coffee and didn’t return for another 10 – 12 minutes, but I see servers hurrying around for the other patrons(the more pigment challenged kind). I swear I didn’t want to be an angry black woman today. But there I was sitting and observing everything and everyone around me. So our cute little waitress finally made her way back to our table to take our order. I ordered the Highlander and the man got some kind of breakfast burrito. I was MAD after the first bite. Lukewarm potatoes covered with scrambled eggs and cheese, lathered with some disgusting jarred salsa, strips of ham, maybe 4 pieces of ripped up bacon and ½ of a smoked sausage. If you describe it, it should taste as good as it sounds, but don’t kid yourself. You’ll feel like you got ripped off. I boxed it and let my son eat it so not to let it go to waste. He eats anything! I understand that this is a bar and my expectations for a gourmet meal are in no way achievable by this establishment. They’re a good candidate for that TV show where the guy comes and takes over your bar and helps get their shit together! This place REALLY needs it. I won’t be back.
