Had the Fried Chicken and Waffles with a side order of Grits. Sorry no picture, too busy devouring it. The food is great. Atmosphere is diner and just right. Easy to park. Friendly and perfect for a great breakfast, lunch or even dinner. Highly recommended. I found it on Unilocal and I am passing the torch on to you. ENJOY!!!

I have been here three times, all on weekday mornings. The place was dead quiet each time; only a few other tables besides mine. They make a good omelet. But I find the cheese they use extremely salty. Service is always fast and friendly. Prices are on par with any other local diner. Good standard fare but I would not brave any weekend of holiday crowds to eat here.

If your looking for an authentic homemade waffle this is NOT the place. The waffles were dried out and the presentation was not impressive. The hash browns tasted like pure grease. McDonald’s is better. The design and décor inside is dirty and old.

This is our go to breakfast place. Everyone is friendly and accommodating to us bringing our one year old. The breakfast food is normal diner fare hit cheap and quick and I have nothing bad to say. They have a special smothered version of their hash browns that I wasn’t super crazy about but it was good to try once.

I wanted to visit for a while because they serve chicken and waffles here. It’s a small place on the side of Merrick Road, but there is a parking lot in the back that is shared with some of the other stores in the same building. It’s divey but cozy, decorated with lots of 70’s memorabilia. We ordered a few breakfast items. The waffles were good, crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, thick«Belgian style». I was a bit disappointed with fried chicken because it was clearly a premade Purdue chicken they just tossed in the fryer for a few minutes, but considering the price,($ 10.99 for waffle and four small pieces) it was acceptable. The homefries were good but not seasoned, probably catering to the senior clientele they seem to mostly have. The pancake with chocolate chips was disappointing. This might be a personal preference, but it was too spongy. American pancakes should be made with different batter than the waffles so that they are moist and dense. The service was good and the plates were surprisingly clean for an old diner, so even though the food was not 100%, it seems like a place worth visiting again when I am in the area.

Been here many times, if you want breakfast this is a great place. Food is always great, i always have eggs, bacon and sausage and have some of my sons pancakes or waffles. We never have a bad meal here. Service is always friendly and helpful, plenty of parking as well.

The food was great, I had omelette(very good and everything tasted fresh) and funky hash-browns(delicious, but I assume very unhealthy, and waffles(very tender and fluffy). But the service was not the best. Besides us nobody was there, and we kept asking for things like napkins, water, straw… We sat far from serving station, and felt bad to ask waitress every time for something… She should of known how to serve and what to bring …

This place exceeded my expectations and I’m so happy about it. Diners in the area have become increasingly expensive and I try and avoid them at all costs. This place had an old school diner feel with old school prices to match! You walk through the front and make your way to the register to be seated. We arrived a little after 1pm on a Saturday and the place was basically empty. We were seated quickly and got our drink ordered taken and filled instantly. The menu is precise with good options and great prices. To be honest I knew what I was ordering when I walked through door. I ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of hash browns while my honey ordered pork chop and scambled eggs with grits and rye toast. The chicken and waffles was delicious. It was some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had and the portion was large for the $ 11 price tag. The waffle was fluffy and sweet and it was just perfect. My fiancé loved his meal. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and the eggs were delicious too. He thought the toast was especially good and the grits were tasty. The hot sauce was a good addition. 2 meals plus a side came to $ 28. Such a steal. Service was great, food came out quickly, and it was hot and fresh.

Went here thinking of the«Waffle House» down south … Atlanta /South Carolina etc etc. and to my surprise … It’s a great place! Grits are well made. Coffee comes free.. . Waffles are made fresh to order and the Long Island bagels are available here. Not like other diners where you can tell the bagels are weird. Overall a great diner. I’m very impressed.

I’ve lived in Seaford for years, yet just noticed this place a few weeks ago when I drove by. My boyfriend and I decided to try it this morning for breakfast for the first time. Place was cute… Small, yet a very clean and comfortable retro diner look. An older woman(I forgot to catch her name) was excellent. Very friendly and attentive throughout our dining experience. The food was great too… I got the French toast with scrambled eggs & fresh fruit. My boyfriend got waffles with eggs and bacon. Both of us enjoyed our meals, home cooking that was absolutely delicious! Too much food to finish, and decently priced as well. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back to visit soon.

A cynic would say that the Internet is nothing more than a pulpit for people to self promote, brag about their kids, and spew their political ideas ad nauseam. Then there is the good side. The Unilocal good side. I learned of this amazing spot through one of my weekly Unilocal emails. I was out early with the family and we decided to go to breakfast, so we landed here. Here’s the review… Funky Hash Browns… it’s like the love child born from a western omelette and hash browns. Cheesy, hammy, oniony, crispy potatoey. you get the point. Outstanding The waffles, the star of the show came with multiple options. The deal with an egg and bacon for $ 6.99 should not be overlooked. The waffles hit that sweet spot between crispy, fluffy, and melty. Yes. it’s a waffle and I’m over selling it, but it’s really good I went for the fried chicken and waffles. The chicken was perfectly cooked, crunchy, moist and slightly salty. I would have preferred real maple syrup but I wasn’t complaining. The service was quick and extremely friendly. Our server Bridget has been there 14 years and you can tell she loves her customers and working with such nice people. Please support great local gems like this. Everyone wins.

This is a nice little place to eat awesome waffles that practically melt in your mouth at an affordable price with super fast service! I am glad I found this place it’s definitely worth a try. They do not have free refills for some strange reason though.

Monday 10am, there were only 2 other tables with people, and they had already been served. ordered an Omelet with home fries done well and I had simply 2 fried eggs over light, bacon well & rye toast, Coffee. Home fries were under cooked and my GF wasn’t going to send them back but my bacon was far from well. I could understand if it were a weekend and they were packed but we were the only table ordering food. the place was empty. When the food was returned the home fries were still not well. My bacon was well but eggs were cold, and my hash browns came with my returned plate.(I didn’t notice it missing on first delivery). It was frozen, deep fried and dripping in oil. It was not edible. noting that our first through third choices for breakfast were closed Monday’s, this was«the best rated of the 3⁄2 star places on Unilocal in the area to eat». I am writing because I think that 2 – 3 stars is too generous. The cook is cooking for one table, has two chances to get simple meals right. Positive note was the service was excellent. Two servers for one table as I noted we were the only table ordering food, the others completed whatever they had. Left and made a left to head East to a starbucks ¼ mile down the road to get some coffee. Was considering the Oatmeal given our experience however lunch was an hour away. Too bad, I don’t take any pleasure in writing a poor review but I owe it to other Unilocalers who have helped me enjoy some of the best rated places to let them know when to just pick another place for breakfast.

The only problem I have with this place is that I didn’t find it sooner!!! Staff was nice and quick service. My coffee cup was never empty. I went with the chicken and waffles with a side of funky hash browns. WOW what a meal! Good size portions and very taste. While I was sitting and eating I saw some if the other breakfast items coming out to other tables. The good looks great. I will most defiantly be coming back here to try the rest of the menu. I just don’t understand how I haven’t heard of this place till now. I’ve been looking for a great breakfast place in Nass for years! Very happy I’ve found one! Enjoy!!!

Visit Date: March 22, 2014 My experience here was alright. Not spectacular but not very terrible. Experienced some pros & cons during my brief visit. I stopped here for breakfast before work. When I work on Saturday mornings(now that I’m driving), I have a new routine where I leave my house much earlier than I need to so I can stop for breakfast and grab a cup of coffee before work. So this was my first before work Saturday pick. The interior of the restaurant was old style, simple & clean. Lots of red popped out at me because the seats were red. There was only one waitress working but my guess is at 7:30 on a Saturday not many people are awake, probably if this place picks up between 9 and 11:30 they might have more people on staff. So despite the fact that there was one waitress I got pretty fast service. I appreciated the fast service because I couldn’t linger here I had to get back on the road to get to my job. The waitress was very nice! The coffee was alright, it wasn’t terrible but not really wonderful. But for me being the coffee snob that I am I actually didn’t mind the cup of coffee here. For breakfast I opted for the Belgian waffle with butter & syrup which is just the classic way to have your waffle. It was good, but not something I would rave over. I am not sure if they use pre fabricated waffles or if they make them fresh as they are ordered. They call themselves a waffle house so I would hope it would be freshly made to order waffles but I really couldn’t tell. When I went to the bathroom I couldn’t get the soap out of the soap dispenser. This could have been me being retarded or their soap dispenser didn’t work. If it doesn’t work it would obviously be good if they could fix it. Thankfully I always have sanitizer with me for when I’m faced with a non soap bathroom. So overall I had a decent experience here and would consider coming back again. It’s an alright little place to grab some breakfast.

I literally pass this place every day and I’m so surprised I haven’t eaten here until recently! On the weekends the American Waffle House is always PACKED. So I thought, hey… it must be good! This place is retro-cool with their big red leather booths and their chrome tables. Everyone is extremely friendly and I have to agree with a previous reviewer(Dan L.) that they make you feel like a regular despite if it’s your 1st or 100th time here. The American Waffle House has diner prices, so it’s pretty reasonable. They immediately come over and offer you coffee and make sure throughout the meal your cup is always full. I ordered eggs over-easy with whole wheat toast and home fries. Everything was done just right. Oh! And I had a side of grits.(Insert My Cousin Vinny joke.) I don’t know many places in the northeast that offers grits. They taste just like the ones I had in my childhood when visiting my family down in FL. Next time I’ll definitely go for the pancakes or waffles. After all it is the«Waffle» house!
