I like to shop the local businesses whenever I can but Allied reinforced the reason others wind up at the big box stores. I purchased 2 bags of paver sand ($ 20 each) and realized a few days later that I only needed one, so I returned the other. The sales guy points to the handmade sign on the wall stating ALL returns are charged a 20% restocking fee so it’ll cost me $ 4 to return one bag of sand and for them to walk it to the pallet and throw it on top. After I said «Even on a bag of sand?!» he just pointed over his shoulder and said nothing.
So I decided NOT to purchase the other item I was intending to buy and will stop by Lowes/​Home Depot tomorrow.
«Restocking» charges may be applicable to some large items, but don’t screw the customer just to make a buck or to discourage returns — it also discourages repeat purchases.

Allied builders supply in Seaford they were great, Tony was such a great help with my Cambridge pavers and veener stone. He spent a lot of time with me even though he was very busy, I wouldn’t go any ware else.

I went to this place allied in seaford on merrick rd right off the 135 seaford oyster bay expressway. They were a huge help. I wanted to try an install a small paver patio in my back yard for my BBQ and table.
I stopped by this place a few times, looked at all the selection of paving stones and wall stones, they had very knowledgable guys there. Tony helped me pick out the perfect color stone. My wife asks a ton of questions and they answered them all.
They helped me pick the perfect stone and had all of it in stock and delivered the material for $ 50, can’t beat that !!
I tried a few other places but they seemed like amateurs compared to allied
In definitely gonna use these guys in the future if I have any other projects I feel like taking on.
And there prices were the best around, so don’t waste your time go to the pros
