This place was awesome! Delicious. The beef shishkabob was bangin. We tried a grape mint flavored hookah was equally awesome. Also, baklava. win.

BURNEDDOWN!!! This place was good but now that it has burned down it is not an option! Looks like it started with the hookah bar. Phone is disconnected so they probably are not going to rebuild.

I love how they kept the option of smoking hookah available after THC closed. The food is pretty decent, it is not the best Mediterranean food I have had, but it is also not the worst. It’s is very clean and has a nice set up though. I wish they had more hookah options and perhaps bigger bowls, it’s $ 12.99 plus $ 5.99 for a refill on hookah which is a little outrageous and expensive since not only do you get a tiny bowl, but you have less than 6 or 7 flavors to choose from. Their hookah is not up to par, but their food is decent and the service is pretty good. You get complimentary Pita Chips and Hummus which is really awesome. I’m hoping they start a happy hour or make their hookah prices cheaper because it would be nice to have a cleaner hookah bar in the area like so. I can’t wait to find out what they decide to do to the upstairs!

The food was not good. The service was okay. Neither my boyfriend or I enjoyed our meals and he rarely complains about anything made for human consumption.

Great spread here, tabouli, several salads, falafel and hummus. Everything was fresh and tasty. Nice porch outside and a very nice and friendly staff.

I don’t know if this place is Mediterranean as much as bizarre world. Food is decent but odd. I might be biased, having grown up in an American world where Mediterranean really means Greek; but this place is definitely means more middle eastern. The flavors are a bit different and feature more mint and citrus. The pita is delicious; the hummus has an odd aftertaste. The lentil soup is also delicious. The Greek salad has a nice dressing but isn’t my favorite. The beef shawarma was just okay. The staff is friendly and I love that about a place. However the décor is going to either make you laugh or irritable. It’s like the restaurant has an identity crisis going on — the strangest blend of Hawaiian tiki hut roof, with Egyptian table cloths, Greek fountains, fake mangoes, Moroccan lights, strange music… it sort of makes your head spin. With that in mind, I’d never plan a party here or come with business partners. It would feel a bit embarrassing. Still it seems like a fun place to chill. Loud music, a DJ some nights until 1AM, hookahs if that’s your thing, standard food. Very average experience despite being an un-average environment!

Delicious!!! Super casual atmosphere and the furniture was tacky, but who CARES?! We asked the waited what he recommended(braised lamb shank) and listened. It was amaziiiing. The falafel are a definite must, my mom and I agreed they were the best we have ever had! I only wish we had ordered more! My daughter’s food took much longer than ours to come out but they apologized. I would go often if we didnt live so far!

Hands down the best Kibeh(kibbie) in Houston for now! Really fresh and tasty. The beef kabob plate is magnifico!!! Excellent falafel and baba gounash… home made pickles and pickled turnips, spicy garlic butter, etc…, all dipping sauces=delicious! Seems popular with the local Lebanese community smacking down on some Hookah! Great wait staff… breezy, cool patio area. I’ll be back for sure!

I’m glad I finally made it to Royal Mediterranean… I live right around the corner and pass by it every day, and since they opened I’ve really been wanting to try it. The food tasted great, the service was attentive, and the portions were large! I came on a Friday night in a group of six and we were seated promptly outside. The patio is well decorated and casual, and there were a few people enjoying hookah scattered about(hookah is only allowed outside, so if you don’t want to smell it you can sit inside). The initial background music was hit or miss, but soon after sitting down, some live music started up which was really nice as background music. Our waiter was probably pretty new and was a little nervous/scatter brained at times(he pronounced gyro at least three ways during our meal and didn’t even try to pronounce Loukoumades), but he did a great job and was pretty attentive and friendly. It’s BYOB, but there is a corkage fee. It was $ 5 for our entire table(one bottle of wine and two six packs of beer), but I’m not sure if it was some charge per person or a flat charge per table. Regardless, it’s inexpensive and a good way to enjoy your own beer or wine, and the waiter took care to let me know beforehand that there was a charge. Prior to ordering, they brought out a free appetizer of pita chips, a small amount of hummus, and some spiced olive oil(two of these for our table of six). It was a great alternative to bread served at most restaurants, and their hummus was very creamy and good(it’s not a spicy hummus, though, so some people may find it bland if you’re used to bolder hummus). I ordered Baba Ganoush as my appetizer and the Beef Shawarma as my dinner. One criticism that I have is that both came out at the same time — I would’ve preferred the Baba Ganoush to come out earlier or to have been asked my preference, but no big deal. We all loved my Baba Ganoush, and it had a really nice smokey element to its taste. The small was plenty big, and they served a decent amount of pita to go along with it. The beef shawarma sandwich was huge and tasted great. It was definitely enough food for one person. I subbed a small Greek salad for the coleslaw, and I’m glad I did(their Greek salad is really good). Others at my table got the gyro sandwich, the steak kabobs, a Greek salad, and the Royal Plate for Two. Everyone seemed really happy with their choices, and all of the portion sizes seemed to be great values. I was able to try the falafel from the Royal Plate for Two, and it was well executed(I find that falafel can be hit or miss). Finally, I couldn’t resist getting some baklava for dessert, and I’m glad I did — it was as good as, or maybe even better than, the baklava that I really like at Phoenecia. While we were finishing up, the staff also came around with free Loukoumades(fried dough balls with honey) for everyone in the restaurant. While not as good as my favorite Loukoumades ever at Niko Niko’s, it was a really nice touch and shows how friendly of a restaurant they are. Overall, I really like the vibe at this place and will definitely be returning. It’s got a friendly hookah lounge vibe and some pretty delicious food at a reasonable price.

Husband and I went there last night. I honestly didn’t expect much because it has just opened. We truly hope that this restaurant makes it. The food was great! The atmosphere was great and the waitstaff was attentive. This is a family owned restaurant… these are the types of businesses we need to be supporting. They do not have their liquor license yet but you can BYOB. :-)

This place was AMAZING! The food was exceptional. The service was great. Honestly, I didn’t expect much from a brand new restaurant, but I was thoroughly impressed. The food was very authentic as well. I HIGHLY recommend this place! «Katie L» obviously is commented on the wrong location.
