My tattoo artist did basically a great job, but when I asked to have one element of the design corrected I was told by the front desk person that my tattoo is as perfect as I could get even though it is wobbly and uneven. I’m definitely going to have it corrected somewhere else. Terrible customer service. I added a photo with the blue circle.

There are a gazillion places in and around the area to get tattoos. Go to Jim’s. These guys and gals are pros.
I was a walk in and I was easily able to find a design I liked in the gallery. The guy at the counter was helpful, polite, and was able to quickly point me in the right direction in their extensive gallery.
He got me set up with an artist and in the chair without hassle. Kelley did mine and she was very patient while helping me find just the right spot on my shoulder. She was very careful, professional, and pleasant throughout the process. She’s very precise and knows what she’s doing. My tattoo looks exactly how I wanted it to look.
The shop was clean, easy to find, and there are private rooms. And the people working there couldn’t be nicer. They want you to be happy with your new permanent friend and it shows. Just can’t compliment the staff enough. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars.
It gets busy, so you might want to make an appointment. I went when they opened on a Friday and it filled up fast. My timing was good.

Thank you God for finally bringing me a great tattoo shop. I have had nothing but crappy luck for pretty much all of my past 20 tattoos. This place was literally a breath of fresh air. The people are actually friendly and welcoming unlike other places such as the painted bird in medford where the people are huge jerks.
Al was very welcoming and very sweet and nice to talk to. He even offered to grab me Starbucks on his run for his staff. Which was incredibly considerate and it made me even more comfortable there. Usually I feel really uneasy in tattoo shops which is crazy because I have 21, right? But no. Super awesome people working there.
This shop is sparkling clean also with private rooms. (Again, unlike the painted bird in medford where you are ONTOP of other people) They and they obviously take pride in the way their shop looks to customers. And it doesn’t just look clean, it really is clean.
My gorgeous tattoo was done by Ashley Matthias. I knew of her through girls I work with and I loved all of their tattoos that were done by her so I made an apt. She drew up something beautiful for me. I pretty much gave her free reign because I had seen enough of her work to trust her. My tattoo is perfect. All the lines are straight. The shading is incredible. Everything is detailed and perfect and I have a favorite tattoo now.
I love all of my tattoos but if I could erase them all and start again with just work by Ashley, I would in a second.
Also she charged me the most reasonable price ever. My beautiful detailed custom drawn tattoo was the same price as my stupid little pink skull from the painted bird. So I was able to tip her more.
So, basically I’m obsessed with this place, and Ashley and I recommend you do yourself a favor and go here if you want an amazing tattoo in a comfortable clean and friendly shop for a really good price. If you live far away, make the trip because it’s worth it. Promise.

I have gotten two different tattoos from two different artists at Jim’s now and I was happy with both. I highly recommend Al, who ended up doing my second tattoo. He does great traditional style tattoos which drew me to his work. Hes very attentive, drew up my tattoo first and we made some adjustments before starting. I didn’t feel pressured to talk through the appointment (I am a hairdresser and talk all day so I appreciated this part.) Overall I was very happy and would recommend the shop to anyone I know, and already have!

Got my first tattoo here. They are clean and professional. The artists are friendly and go out of their way to make customers happy.

I got 2 of my 3 tattoos here, and this place was nothing less than fantastic!!! Clean, friendly, and they do a great job. Jim himself did one of mine and even charged me less than the price posted on the wall!!!
I was a little intimidated by the guys that work there, but once they start your ink, they are really nice! If you want nice work, a clean place, and friendly staff this is the place to go!!!

this place is king shit when it comes to tattoos. you hear the name over and over again, but for good reason. they’ve been around for so long that they can’t fuck it up for themselves; they NEED the artists to be the best of the best, and they have to do it with hardcore efficiency. and that they do.
the dude you first see when you go in there is the balls. love him. if you’re a prissy girl or a puss of a dude, you may be a little inimidated by the guy. he’s a tattoo guy. once you get to talking with him, though, it feels like you’re going to have a full house, sentimental-​music-​and-​hug-​tyme moment. he even lifted up his shirt to show me all his tattoos. if you go in with just an idea, wtf EVER, they’re going to help you out. they want to. if you go in with an exact desire, they’re going to make it work for you. if you go in wanting something off the wall, you’re in luck cause they have a lot of shit to choose. i may laugh at you, but you’ll get a good tattoo.
i am one of those douche bags that has stars tattooed all over her. no, not nautical stars. thanks for asking, though. i have outlines of stars. i’ve been drawing them on myself since the nineties. that’s some vintage shit. i have four separate tattoos, making a total of 9 stars. korie from jim’s is responsible for 5 of those stars and he’s going to be the one to give me at least 8 more. he just doesn’t know it yet.
this place is a class effing act. my boyfriend and i went in on a sunday as they were opening. the guy at the front desk knows what’s up in terms of who is better at what, so even though there were 2 or so other guys with no clients, he had us wait for korie, who he knew was super good at stars. that’s not to say the other guys weren’t; it’s just that he rather put us with someone that was proven to be good at stars. i appreciated that so much, you have no idea.
when i told the guy i wanted them on my rib cage (p.s. this is called a «ho handle,» which made me feel like a #1 class act) and the dude tried to test me and sort of talk me out of it. the girl that was being worked on before us was crying like a baby bitch cause she was getting flowers in the same area. she only was able to get one flower done and had to bail. that was super reassuring to me but that’s where i wanted my stars and that’s where they were gonna fuckin go!
i’m rambling way too much.
korie was rad. we were listening to his ipod and a clutch song came on random and i told him i liked them, so he played all clutch from then on out. we joked around like old friends. five stars took probably 10 minutes. he seemed super impressed at how i didn’t twitch or shake or shit myself or whine or cry like the turd girl before me. i made one little peep (like, legit a peep because i felt like my sidefat was being dug into with a knife afire) and he yelled at me to shut up and i did. then he thought he offended me, which he didn’t cause i knew we were bff, and apologized. this guy rules.
p. s. my boyfriend also got stars, on the backs of his arms, and they’re pretty amazing. we are dorks and get similar tattoos.
this was a year ago, almost exactly, and my tattoos haven’t faded even though i go tanning (like an ASSHOLE) and am not the best at remembering to moisturize. they’re still dark black and perfect. i want to go back and add more onto the ho handle to be a supreme hipster (is that the right term for a post-​emo lame kid?) fuckface. they never bled or got weird. also, i’ve lost weight since then and they didn’t turn into slop. i don’t know if that’s a result of korie’s tattooing but it is for the sake of telling a story, dammit.
for two of us it was $ 300. i don’t know the breakdown cause we paid together. steve’s stars (two) are about 3 inches large, filled in, and outlined. my five stars vary in size but i guess they average on being 1 inch each. the quality, the cleanliness, and the experience were worth way more than $ 300. i’ve never felt more comfortable getting ink permanently fucking up my body in my life. i’m ABSOLUTELY going back.
