Comfort Inn & Suites

This is a gem in Seabrook! Very clean, excellent service and nice rooms. We especially enjoy the paintings of the clouds and sky on many of the ceilings around the hotel. The breakfast is also nice. We enjoy staying here — reasonable rate, very close to NASA, Kemah Boardwalk, a 30 minute drive to Galveston and also 30 minutes to downtown Houston. We’ve stayed here about 5 times over 10 years. Been a great stay every time!

Definitely a decent hotel at a decent price in the Kemah/​Clear Lake area. We reserved our rooms through a third party, but had a decent idea of the level of quality and service we’d be getting at that price.
We were not surprised in anyway — except the beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. We all had a wonderful nights sleep.
We had a king ‘suite’ and our parents had a two-​queen room. Both were in decent shape with air conditioners that definitely worked. Even the windows open — and that’s usually not the case in hotels.
The king bed was actually extremely comfortable, and the linens all smelled clean and fresh. The pillows were not typical flimsy, cheap ones either. And there was enough to satisfy my fort-​building needs.
The check-​in staff was the same when we checked in and out the next day — which lead us to believe they must work REALLY long shifts. Regardless, she was helpful and pleasant.
Breakfast was actually not terrible. We actually booked here because of the promise of a ‘full’ breakfast versus ‘continental’. Breads, fruits, cereals, hot eggs and sausage, boiled eggs, coffee, and the best seller — the waffle maker. Nothing beats a hot waffle. They even had apple juice — I could drink gallons of the stuff.
After breakfast we had enough time to check out the pool. It’s indoors and not that terrible. The deep end was only 5 foot, but it’s roomy enough for a few families at a time. And despite a previous review — we didn’t find it overly full of chemicals. It’s also heated — so it wasn’t terribly cold. (Though it wasn’t ‘warm’ enough to be really ‘heated’ either.

Great staff. Very friendly and helpful. It was very clean and a great rate. We will visit on a later trip when we are in the area.

Sitting here in a dark hotel room because our power went out. Not worth the money spent. Small pool, rooms, very old hotel. Definitely needs to be updated. Teenage son only liked the breakfast. I requested 2 queen beds, and got 2 doubles (even though they claim they were queen size). It was a very crammed room with my self, husband, 13 year old son, 9 year old daughter, 8 month old baby and our German shepherd.. Never staying here again. Definitely spending more for a better quality hotel down the road. At least la Quinta doesn’t charge for pets at their hotel. This one charged $ 40 for our dog although even if she did do anything to destroy the room, you would t be able to tell. :-(

Pros: Check in staff were very polite and accommodating, bed and pillows were comfortable, room and bathroom were clean.
Cons: Pool was small and smelled strongly of chlorine, decided not to venture in. The fitness gym boasts one treadmill that turns on but has a cracked running base, which feels like you’re stepping into a pothole with every stride. The small weight set was clean and although missing parts, worked fine. The air conditioner seemed to not work in the gym.
The vending machine was empty, but the front counter staff did sell me a small bottle of Ozarka for $ 1.
If I ever visit this town again I will seek out a different hotel.

Nice hotel, staff was courteous and helpful and the room was large and clean. Took away a star because of the weird bath/​shower situation.
In the shower/​tub combo our temperatures were reversed, which we did not realize at first. When I went to the bathroom in my parents room, the hot/​cold indicator was upside down but hot was hot and cold was cold. So be warned, if you are staying here try all of the settings!
The breakfast was adequate, if not terribly impressive and the coffee was serviceable. I would definitely stay here again when I am in the area!
