Hank Sauce

Ordered mahi mahi tacos asian style and they were AMAZING. Everyone needs to try the Cilanktro hot sauce, I use it on everything!

Got lunch here Memorial Day Weekend and it hit the spot! Our group tried the mahi-​mahi & the the ahi tuna tacos — both with rave reviews! Two of us had the mahi-​mahi asian style which was a nice mix up.
Cons —
— Ran out of mahi-​mahi at 1 PM on a holiday weekend
— a bit steep for 3 tacos ($ 15 + tax) but it was fresh & filling so I’ll accept it
You can call ahead if you’re in a rush or want to ensure they have fish left.
And of course the sauces were delicious. I personally loved the Camouflage but you can never go wrong with Cilnaktro.

All this time I’ve been enjoying their sauces and had no idea it was a restaurant until I read a review! Must visit next time I’m home! My boyfriend and I moved out to California about a year and a half ago from Ocean City and every time we have a hankering (yes, yes, you see what I did there) for good hot sauce I think of Hanks! So for this Valentine’s day I ordered 4 as a surprise, it’s one of those «boomerang gifts», you know, where you buy something for a loved one with all intentions of hogging it yourself. ;)
The point is this sauce is the BOMB and I have yet to find one I like better! I remember a garlic being my favorite but that wasn’t an option in the online store. No worries — they are all delish!!!

This is a great, inexpensive, shore eating option for the whole family! Excellent guacamole, unfortunately the chips are from a bag (they have no fryer). Everything we ate was fresh, well seasoned, and cooked perfectly. The tacos, pulled pork and especially the burgers were awesome. The crab soup was the best I ever had. Creamy and full of crab meat. Add a touch of hot sauce! The burgers are big, juicy, and cooked perfectly. The hot sauce is excellent. Wait staff is friendly. Prices very reasonable. BYOB.
Understanding what it is, a small place with little ambiance, it is as good as it gets from a food, value and service prospective! Go, buy some hot sauce and a t-​shirt!

Best food in sea isle! Compared to all the other pizza/​Italian restaurants Hanks ingredients were fresh and healthy. The black and blue burger is so delicious, I will def be ordering that again. The chicken Thai lettuce wraps were a little spicy for me but really good from what I tried. Will DEF be back over and over when we are at the shore.

I came for the sauce, but stayed for the tender, flaky, deliciously prepared mahi mahi.
I have been meaning to try the food at Hank Sauce since it opened about four summers ago. I had been a long time fan of the sauce, with the «Camouflage» being my favorite, and I am a huge fan of both Mexican and seafood and Hank Sauce puts their own unique spin on both.
After three failed attempts at eating here (you’d think that it wouldn’t be that difficult, but the place was closed for three separate reasons on all three occasions that I passed by), I finally had the opportunity to go in. When I walked through the door, I was met by a crowd of people and a full restaurant. After waiting about ten minutes a table opened and we seated ourselves.
My group and I had a few complaints before even ordering our food. For one thing, it was noisy and, for a Tuesday night at about 8:30, ridiculously crowded. It also took quite some time for our waitress to come over to our table and take our drink orders, and service was fairly slow throughout the night. Worst of all for me personally was the lighting situation. They have these bright florescent lights that seem unwelcoming and uncharacteristic of a nice sit-​down eatery and make me feel like I’m on an operating table, but we overlooked all of that when we started to notice some of the food that was being brought out. It really looked amazing, and I wasn’t even that hungry.
The menu isn’t huge, but it has something for everyone and interesting specials every night. When we went the special was salmon, which is probably my favorite food item of all time, but I had to try the mahi tacos that everyone had recommend to me. The other three people in my group ordered the cheeseburger, and two buffalo chicken wraps. When the food finally arrived, all of our complaints were immediately silenced as we started to dig in and reach for the four different types of hank Sauce that were on each table to try. The Mahi tacos were excellent, although they were a little too heavy on the arugula, but that problem was easily solved by picking it off.
For the four of us the bill came to about $ 55, which isn’t too bad considering the location and the quality of the ingredients. All in all, we really did enjoy the food, but just wish the ambiance was a little nicer. I will definitely be coming back, hopefully at a less busy time.

We sampled Hank Sauce at the Farmers Market in Sea Isle City and thought it was worth a trip to the restaurant.
The restaurant is modern and cozy. The service was average and friendly. We looked at the menu online before we arrived so we had a good idea of what we wanted. We ordered chips with mango salsa, the Ahi Tuna Burrito Roll and the Jamaican Jerk Sandwich. The roll was good but the description led me to believe it was like a sushi roll; it’s a wrap cut in 4 equal sections. The sandwich was a grilled chicken breast with «Cajun» spices; not a true jerk sandwich. It was still good
We would probably go there again but order different entrees.

I met my boss at Hank Sauce for a quick lunch meeting. The service was great. Our waitress’ name was Rebecca. She helped me find items on the menu that were gluten free and also delicious. Her patience with my allergy, politeness and service was perfect. The red salsa and guacamole was awesome and they had a corn wrap that was gluten free. I hate being picky at a lunch meeting but she made it easy and comfortable for us!

Best spot for a delicious casual lunch or dinner. The food is top notch. Causal eat-​in or take-​out. My husband tried the Blazin’ Burger, which lives up to its name! It has smokey habanero peppers, cheese and carmelized onions. I enjoyed one of the freshest salads yet at the shore, with deliciously fresh grilled mahi. Everything was delish and we’ll be back. Pick up a bottle or two of the signature house sauce, Hank Sauce. Don’t miss it!

Best hot sauce. Bought four bottles last week and needed to restock again this week before we head home. The camouflage hot sauce is my personal favorite. Food is absolutely delicious. Tried the buffalo chicken tacos and they did not disappoint. A must stop for anyone hanging out at the shore.

I love HankSauce! Food is awesome and the atmosphere is really relaxed. Wish list: outdoor dining, more hours.

This place is great!!! I love it! The hank burger was so yummy! The sauces were greaaaaat! I reccomend the cilantro and the camoflauge. The service was polite and swift

Fresh and fantastic. Nice variety of interesting burgers and tacos. We ordered the beef tacos, veggie wrap, and a hanks burger and all 3 were fresh and flavorful. This place is a little gem.

Food is great. Service is the worst I’ve ever seen. 35 minutes and counting for take out!!! Insane!!!

The food is great, but it’s definitely not worth the wait. We’ve been sitting here for an hour and haven’t received our taco entrées yet. The waitress seems nice enough but as a whole the staff is inefficient (don’t bus tables right away, don’t check on their customers often enough).

Hank Sauce is worth the ride to the south end of Sea Isle. It’s not only fresh, but delicious. The scallop pinchos are one of the loves of my life lol. The background story of the restaurant is really special– 3 best friends from college (2 of them are sea isle natives) started bottling sauce and managed to create a restaurant along the way. Special food and a BYOB. Does it get any better?

Every time I pass through sea isle city this is a must stop! Food is wonderful and fresh, you can get it spicy or not and we always leave with a case of sauce! Love this place!!!

Stopped in for lunch and had the ahi tuna burrito roll and the Hank burger. Both were –awesome! The Hank-​a-​qu sauce on the burger was so good and should be bottled. We loved trying the different Hank hot sauces… took home 4 bottles for $ 20. Would recommend this place to any SIC visitors!

Totally worth the drive from ocean city! Hank Sauce is amazing, and though I can buy it online, i had the chance to try out their crust restaurant today for lunch. I was great, especially compared to the rest of the food in this area. Wile to meat was a tiny bit overlooked, the flavors were bright and fresh, and the lunch filled us up! My crabby patty was delicious, enormous, and sooooooo good with Hank’s Cilanktro Sauce. We also were lucky enough to get to try a special batch of Garden Ghost sauce, made from the infamous ghost pepper.omg. The burn was so good.
So listen, if you love hot sauce, and are looking for a fresh, affordable, mostly health lunch down the shore, drive to Hank Sauce and go to town. Make sure you buy some sauce to go! It“s so, so good!

Remember that scene in Hook when Robin Williams finally gets it and imagines all the awesome food? That’s what its like the first time you take a bite of Hanks. Its so glorious! I live hours away but will, and have, ventured far just for a little taste of the sweetness. The scallop Pinchos here have changed my view on seafood. I cannot eat enough of those amazing little thingies. Scallops better watch out cause they are going to be extinct if they keep slathering some Hanks on’em.
My favorite item is from the summer menu. Buffalo Chicken Taco’s. I usually get 2 Buff Chix please. When I’m feeling frisky I get the burrito version and go into a slight moment of existential delight. They put a bit of the taco chips in there so its basically the best of both worlds.
My favorite sauce is Hank-​A-​Q. They feature it on their signature Hank burger. A pure achievement of modern burgerization. mmmmmmmm applewood smoked baconnnnnnn
The wait staff is super friendly and ready to assist you as you venture down the path of nirvana.
Wealth is best measured in good burrito’s.
