Since writing my last review on this location I have recently visited 2 in 3 weeks and I have been renewed by the changes! Under new management, the items that I specifically pointed out on my last review have improved to the level of quality I know from when I first ate at a Sonic… I am a fanatical fan of Onion Rings and by far Sonic does a topnotch job. Now I can write that you get a full bag of freshly made Onion Rings not a half full job buried on the bottom of the bag to hide it from you! Well Here they are back to the same old game, Sonic says that a large bag of onion rings in 12 – 15LARGE rings, but last week got a bag with 12 very small rings; bag wasn’t even half full, I asked the car hop about it and she said they put the required amount of 12 rings… wait! corporate said 12 – 15LARGE rings, I told this to the car hop and said I want a full bag, she took it back inside where ‘HERMANAGER’ told her he would take it off of the bill. I said no thanks! A Large ring weights 3 times more than a small one, so if you get 12 small ones you are getting 66% less onion rings than corporate says you should be getting! Also we had half price cheeseburgers as it was Groundhog day special, so again we got a cheeseburger with a scaled down patty that is 1⁄3 the thickness of a regular price cheeseburger, TALKABOUT Cheating your customers! Many franchises in the area of the country have gone under because these franchise owners are more interested in giving customers stripped down versions than a great value and experience. Drive to the Sonics in Nepa and one thing is clear, little or no customers!

This is a poorly run Sonic location. I stopped in to have a quick lunch with my son on a Sunday afternoon. We placed our order and then I tried to pay with the card reader. It was broken… We waiting patiently for our food. That was about 20 minutes. There were two other cars parked during our visit. When the food came, the lady handed me a soda that was dripping everywhere. She clearly didn’t care as I asked about some napkins. She said nothing. I asked my son to get napkins from the glovebox. Once I wiped all the dripping side off the cup, my hands and the door panel, I accepted the food. As for the food, the chicken sandwiches were supposed to be «crispy». The breading was translucent and the meat was gummy(not cooked long enough). The bun was BURNED on the inside which was camouflaged by the mayo. The tots were fine though. So in total, two stars for the tots and drinks that were made correctly. Never coming here again…

They don’t have Sonics in New England so I checked out the one in Scranton while on a road trip headed down south. It did not disappoint. I loved the traditional drive-in feel to it with the car-hop service but with a modern menu. I got the NY hot dog and the Chicago-style hot dog. Both were great and for a great price. The only down-side was the service was a pretty slow, being the opposite of «fast food.» It didn’t bother me that much though, and with a menu this large, I will definitely visit Sonic again.

Sonic is definitely a great experience. I had the chance to go to sonic with my family. It was great a meal. I went with my mom and boyfriend and they enjoyed their meals as well. It’s definitely worth going too. Sonic brings a unique fast food experience and you can tell the food is fresh and isn’t like any other fast food franchises.
