Kost Tire & Muffler

I had my car there for a loud noise. I was told it was the left wheel bearing and cupped tires. They «fixed» the bearing. Well almost $ 300 later the car is still the same if not worse. And then when I got my oil changed the other day (months later) they found a screw diver someone left under my hood!

If i had an option of 0 stars. I would give 0. This place fucking sucks. The customer service is worst. The bald mother fucking mechanic curses at customers. I hope this place runs out of business.

I’ve brought my card here many times over years for tires and various services. Staff has always been very friendly and accommodating. More then once they patched a tire, fixed a loose plug, top off my fluids for free. They’ve informed me bigger issues that need repair but Were up front that I could get that done for less somewhere else. The honesty and good customer service keeps me coming back. It’s usually busy so calling ahead or dropping off is preferred but if you need to wait there’s comfortable seating with TV, water, coffee and AC.

I went in to Kost for brake repair. I needed some financial help for this from my father, it happens. Darren, the manager thought it’d be a good idea to call my father and express to him concern that I have problems in my life because my car is in bad shape. No idea why he thinks it’s his business or right to get involved in other people’s personal matters, not to mention now my dad thinks I’m a loser because some mechanic in Scranton said so. If you appreciate your privacy and want your personal affairs kept personal, stay away from Kost.

pick another kost, like the one in Dunmore, these people lied to me several times. promised me they would provide a service and called me to tell me, after my truck was sitting there all day that he couldn’t get it and I could, if I wanted to when I came to pick it up, make an appointment to have it done. seriously not how you get return business.

I have never gotten anything but absolute professional treatment at this Kost!
For starters, I’ve been to a few (3) different Kost locations throughout the years and each and every one of them has treated me very well.
THIS particular location is great. I sometimes worry about where I take my car; can this place identify the problem, fix whatever needs fixing, properly service the car… are they a bit crooked and padding the bill… I worry. On two separate occasions I have been to this Kost and they spent an hour or so on my car (usually tire problems, thank you Scranton for working on those potholes.) AND THEY CHARGED ME NOTHING. No charge at all the one time for taking my wheel off the car and straightening a not insignificant ding of the wheel itself. (Other time balancing the tires gratis)
How can you not help but trust a place that doesn’t charge you when they easily could? I honestly don’t believe they add an unwarranted dime to their bills. Is it the cheapest place in town to get all the basic stuff done for your car? I doubt it, but I don’t care, I’ll happily pay knowing that what work I get done is what needs to get done.
Another thing, I’ve had a time when they just kind of scratched their heads and said they weren’t sure… I should probably go to the dealership. In a way, I like that a lot too. They aren’t going to blow smoke up my rear and tell me they’ve fixed something. If it’s out of their scope they say it up front and give you some advice to get it done right.
