Gabby’s Luncheonette

Gabby’s Luncheonette on the square is perfect for lunch or breakfast. All of their food is inexpensive, unpretentious, and delicious. Scranton is full of pizza and Chinese takeout, so it was a nice change of pace to find a place downtown that serves home cooked meals. The inside of the building is very clean and well maintained, and the wait staff is very friendly. If you regularly bemoan the lack of restaurant choices in downtown Scranton be sure to check out Gabby’s.

A small homey place full of regulars on a Sunday morning, once church got out. I had the veggie omelette (perfect), homefries (ordinary), and buttered wheat toast (nice, except I ordered dry rye toast). My spouse had poached eggs and homefries and seemed perfectly happy. We didn’t try the rest rooms.
