Zohar Belly Dancing Classes in Phoenix

LOVE LOVE LOVE ZOHAR! I enjoyed every bit of her classes. She is very patient and knowledgeable! I would recommended her to anyone that wants to do it for fun or become very advanced!

Zohar is a great teacher and a great dancer. A lot of times it is hard to find someone that is good at what they do and can break it down for beginners. Zohar does both very well. Her classes are fun and in a beautifully decorated space that makes you feel like you’re belly dancing in an ancient temple. The classes are very reasonably priced. So far she has taught us the basics, how to travel with the basics, and how to use veils. I really like the privacy of her teaching space so it’s not like there are creepy guys standing there oogling at you in the gym. It’s really fun to dance and get to know the other women as well. Zohar gives great feedback while you are dancing both as a group and individually, and her suggestions really take you to the next level. I have done other belly dancing classes in the past, and it was hard to make improvements without the one on one gentle feedback that Zohar gives. There is a big mirror, so you can also see yourself which really helps. The music she uses is fun. She starts out with stretching to prevent injury and loosen your body up, teaches new skills, and then guides you into creating your own dance more towards the end of class. Making it my own helps me to integrate what she is teaching. I also love how she approaches belly dancing from the perspective of it being a sacred dance rather than just a pure entertainment thing. She was also very flexible about me bringing my 8 year old with something to keep him occupied.
