In a classic case of «it’s not WHAT you know but WHO you know» Hubby and I got a personalized tour of this«National Register of Historic Places» home. Honestly, you just really have to see it to believe it! in short, the Empie family bought the property in 1974, then hired a New Mexico architect to build a home in and around the boulders… the end result is this great home! The Empies sold the house to the Yavapai in 2005, who generally rent out the home for events. That’s where the«WHO you know» part came in as far as getting a personal tour of this amazing place… our uncle does a lot of catering events, so he «knows» people. Lucky for us! It was just the four of having the whole place to ourselves… it was a wonderful experience. I’ve attached a few photos, but the pics don’t do this place justice. It’s almost like walking thru Fred Flintstone’s house, except updated furnishings and amenities :) Oh, and you can’t beat the views… I love the desert views and landscapes. So peaceful. If you ever get the chance to visit this place, please do yourself a favor and do so. If you like it half as much as I did, you’ll leave happy :)
