My two worst fears when moving to the Valley – finding another honest mechanic and a good stylist. With respect to the latter, I knew a good stylist in Scottsdale should be easy to find, but was I willing to pay it? In Flagstaff, there’s none of this«artist,» «master,» or «I’ve been the cleaning lady for 10 years so I can cut your hair for only $ 50» business. My stylist in Flagstaff knew of Lisa(the owner of Sit Still) as she is a color educator for Schwarzkopf products and had provided training to his staff. In his words, «she must not suck or Schwarzkopf wouldn’t use her.» Thanks, Steve, that’s comforting. It turns out, Lisa was such a relief to find. And she is in Old Town which coincidentally is where I live. She is a perfectionist, so don’t expect to be in and out in 30 minutes. She is meticulous with the cut and will make sure she knows exactly what you want. My only complaint is that I’m more the«cut it however you think will look best» type. She is fabulous with color, of course. What’s really crazy. I’m paying less with Lisa than I was in Flag. And as a bonus, she doesn’t leave the salon while in the middle of my color to go accept delivery of a hot tub or test ride a quad, etc etc. But I still do miss Steve sometimes though. No matter how good you are, only in a small town would that crap fly.
