Rolfs Salon At Gainey Village

Do not go to this salon for eyebrow waxing. Who does waxing right in the main lobby area, just sitting in a chair? Very unprofessional, especially for a $ 30 wax. It was a below mediocre job and the wax used is the worst I’ve experienced. Even if your skin isn’t very sensitive, do not go here unless you want a red and broken out face for the next two days.

This review is for Kim. She is fantastic!!! Ask for her if you want great bangs and color.
Got a few highlights, color glaze and haircut. Very skilled with bangs, not everyone can cut really good bangs. The proof is when they grow out. Shhh, also added a few hair extensions (for volume, not length). She is the only person to get my sad, thin hair into a nice looking bang. With a forehead with a lot of real estate and no Botox, good bangs are important.
The salon is nicely appointed with lots of parking. The salon is nice but the real gem is Kim.

Spend a lot of money service is superficial. Think your in high class America. Think different. Service not good. I would not go back there. better places in Scottsdale FYI

Have been going to Joette for many years now — she does a great job — has never failed me! I have fine hair and she makes sure not to cause breakage.

I have so many wonderful things to say about Rolf’s and Dion! I was lucky enough to see a celebrity stylist for 10 years when I lived in Los Angeles, and I convinced I could never top that experience! I was reluctant find a new hair guru when I moved back to Scottsdale, but I was referred to Dion right away. I thought Rolf’s would be uptight and overpriced because it is such a beautiful salon, but I was wrong! The staff at Rolf’s is always professional, friendly, and warm. Dion is the highlight of my day when I see him for my haircut and style! Dion exudes light and love, and makes it his mission to do great things in the world and connect with people. He is the upmost professional, and such a joy to be around. Rolf’s really has a great thing going… their philosophy is to provide great service while creating an uplifting experience for clients. I’m surprised they haven’t grown more outside of Arizona. I highly recommend seeing one of the stylists here if you want to look fabulous and feel the warm fuzzies at the same time. Bravo!

Color: Joslyn is the BEST! Have been going to her for about 5 yrs now. I have fine blond hair, and quite a few baby hairs along my hairline that do not grow. She takes her time to make sure she gets then all for my highlights. The others there tease her about how many folis she uses.
Haircut: I have seen many of them and my favorite is Courtney. She does a great job.

Been going to since back the original location at 24^st. Best hair care in the city. I am always crazy busy and switch between several stylists. My color formulas are available and get amazing service.

Erin for me is consistently outstanding — I can always count on her to be there, and to do a great job. My wife’s stylist is outstanding, a singer and a cool dude.

My wife went one time when we were here for a few months she was happy her hair did look great happy wife happy life.

I am writing this review over 3 months since visiting the salon for a facial due to the lack of professionalism and customer service by Rolfs when I complained about my experience. This is my first time to write any review of any business.
This was my second visit to Rolfs with my first being excellent 5 years ago. I had called to make an appointment for a facial and had expressed that I wanted my pores addressed with the facial. Since I did not know what type of facial I wanted based on my skin concerns, the receptionist suggested that the facialist decide for me at the time of my visit after looking at my skin, which was fine with me because that is the facialist’s expertise. I did not ask about fees because my main goal was a facial that addressed my concerns. The next day I came to my appointment and was greeted by the facialist. She didn’t ask me any questions, but seemed to have a plan as to what she is doing. She asked many personal questions as to if I had children, what I did, etc, but asked me no questions about my skin concerns, so I assumed the receptionist had already conveyed my concerns. She seemed to want to talk about the office during the facial and advised me that several therapists had left recently, but she had stayed, suggesting that there were problems with the salon. I advised her in the middle of our session to be aware that I only had one hour, so to be sure to address my skin. She stated she understood. I wondered during the facial when she would extract my pores, etc., but thought since she ‘understood my concerns’ she would be doing it soon until she stated we were done with my facial. I asked her what did she mean by ‘being done’ since I not felt any work on my blackheads or larger pores, and she stated that the facial I had did not address that. I stated that that had been my chief complaint when I called in and the reason I was getting the facial done. She stated that that was a different facial and would cost more than what I had done (the facial she did was not inexpensive at $ 140), so I asked her why she didn’t offer me the more expensive facial because the cost would have been fine since that it is why I came into the salon? I asked if this other facial perhaps took more time, but she said ‘no’ it was an hour facial. She seemed totally clueless and just left the room.
Upon leaving the salon, I asked to speak to the manager, and was advised she would have to call me back. When the manager finally called back later that day, I explained the situation and my complaint with the therapist including all the small talk including that all the other facialists had left, but my facialist had never asked me any questions about what type of facial I wanted as the reception indicated she would. The manager explained that she understood and stated she could offer a facial to me that would address my pores with a $ 20 or $ 40 discount with the SAME therapist (the discount was not relevant because I advised her that I did not want to see the same facialist again because of her lack of professionalism and expertise). The manager then said she would look into who else could provide the service at her salon and call me back in a week or two.
Now, it has been over 3 months and NO PHONE CALL back and no apology for the poor service and lack of professionalism. I am disappointed with Rolfs’ poor customer service from the therapist level to its management… even a note in the mail apologizing for the lack of good service would have been appreciated.

I am so beyond happy with my new hair. Since my old stylist moved I had been through several, not happy with any of them. I have stick straight hair and I need layers but any wrong cut looks choppy and unattractive. Dion is an AMAZING hair stylist! Rolf’s has a luxurious feel without being pretentious. I look forward to my next experience with Dion!

So this is my 2^nd visit at ROLFS and I was still not pleased?
My first visit I came to get my hair colored jet black or blue black, such an easy and simple color.. Apparently it wasnt that easy. It wasnt what I was hoping for and definitely not dark enough. Rescheduled another appointment the following week and Joette was nice. She seems very experienced, but was really sloppy with my hair treatment. My face has some dye on it.. Like really? You cant clean up your mess you left all over my face? Stained? Not impressed.

Another fabulous haircut by Dion. I love Love that he knows how to cut naturally curly hair. Thank you to Kim for taking care of my roots. The color looks natural and compliments my skin tone.

I had an amazing experience at Rolf’s salon! The salon was chic, modern and impeccably clean. My stylist, Kim was so nice and inviting, not to mention a genius when it comes to your hair. Previously, my hair was extremely dry, dead and the color was just awful. Kim magically revived my hair and the color and cut that she created was perfect! Thank you very much, Kim! I’m so happy to have finally found a hair «artist» who understands my hair needs and desires.

Rolf’s at Gainey Ranch is one of the most beautiful salons I have ever seen. The service there is impeccable! The stylists are amazing and it is worth every penny!

I went to Rolfs a couple of weeks ago for a partial highlight and a cut. Jessica did my color and it turned out great. She definitely made sure my hair was thoroughly highlighted and not stripey like I requested. She was very easy to talk to and made the long process of highlighting my hair much more bearable (color always takes forever on my hair). Sometimes salons like this can make you feel uncomfortable and «not worthy,» but I felt right at home here and like all the staff genuinely cared about my experience from beginning to end.
Sebastian did my cut (four inches off) and it also turned out amazing. I was nervous to cut so much off, but he did such a great job and I love it! He definitely made me feel more at ease for taking so much length off.
I’ve gotten so many compliments on both my cut and color since my visit to Rolfs. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for quality and the experience of a «Scottsdale» salon without the stuffiness. I will definitely be back!

Brie, with the Rolf’s Academy, and the team of colorists, did exactly what I wanted in coloring and giving highlights to my hair.

What a fabulous experience I had last Thursday. I had my hair washed and styled by a wonderful women originally from Australia! She did a great job making me look glam. Followed by that I was treated to a custom make up session, I left looking way better than when I walked through the doors. From the moment I arrived, to the moment I left the customer service was truly 5 star. Thank you!

Fay was my hairdresser and she took excellent care of me for the Mom-​Entrepreneur event that I was getting ready to attend. She greeted me warmly and offered me a drink while taking into account my wants for my hair style. She recommended adding curl, which I never do, and fixed my hair to make me look very glam!
Francis, the President, took her time to speak with me and we had a lovely conversation while we both got our makeup touched up and applied.
My experience on this day was fabulous and FREE! Rolf’s was a sponsor of the Mom-​Entrepreneur event and being a finalist for the event came with this perk! I was amazed by the professionalism, attention to detail and their customer service.
I intend to go back on my own time now that I have tried the salon and know that it is well worth the extra $ and extra pampering!

I’ve been going to see Sebastian (Ryan) about once a month and he has been giving me a better haircut each time I’m in. I would highly recommend going to Rolfs and requesting him. As far as the atmosphere goes, second to none. The tile work throughout the salon is impressive.
They are polite, organized, clean, and good at what they do. As long as Sebastian is working there, I will be getting my haircut there.
