So I know chiropractors tend to get a bad rap… but honestly, Dr. Smith knows what he is doing! I’ve been seeing him for almost a year now and he is doing something right. I walked away from a really bad swingset accident with a broken hand and some chronic neck, back, and shoulder pain.(Don’t ask — I actually was hanging upside down and fell on my head, so I’m lucky I didn’t break my neck.) Needless to say, it was frustrating to not be able to workout the way I did pre-accident. On top of that, I was getting headaches more often than usual and I was feeling more irritable than normal as well. Dr. Smith and staff to the rescue! When Dr. Smith took over the practice I’d been to previously, I felt comfortable immediately. He took the time to learn my medical history in detail and educated me on his philosophies but wasn’t overbearing about them. He is an expert on nutrition and natural remedies — he’s actually in the process of publishing a book that he wrote on this topic as well. His wife, Helayna, runs the office and is the sweetest, friendliest woman you’ll ever meet. She’s also gorgeous and dresses so cute! Furthermore, she’s a miracle worker and will find a way to work with your insurance company so that your copay is as low as possible for your visits. So note that I say ‘Dr. Smith ANDSTAFF’ to the rescue… my secret obsession with going to the chiropractor as often as possible is not only because of Dr. Smith and Helayna, but because of Madinah, the Licensed Massage Therapist that works for them. Now, I’ve had a lot of massages in my life — I admit, I am kind of obsessed with them. Madinah is AMAZING! She knows how to hit every tense muscle in my body and she uses just enough pressure so that my body just melts when I’m on her table! I try to stay proactive with my visits even when I’m not experiencing pain, because I feel that it’s a treat to my body to get adjusted, realigned, rubbed down, etc… I have less pain than before and I’m back to working out like I used to again. In order to continue that for as long as possible, I will continue to visit my friends at LIM. By the way, they are centrally located in Old Town Scottsdale. Whether you’re feeling physical pain or just want to be proactive in taking care of yourself, I highly recommend this place. You’re in good hands(literally) with the team at Longevity Integrative Medicine!
