I too haven’t tasted their product, I went to the cake decorating class through groupon. The instructor was very stoic, flat, half-smiled maybe… once, my first impression was that he’d rather be having prostate surgery than be teaching this class. His lack of enthusiasm and overall disgusted demeanor made me want to get up and leave within the first 5 minutes. He did a very quick explanation of which products he likes to use and did not elaborate when other classmates tried to ask questions. After a quick demonstration atop a styrofoam cake we each got started on our own. He came around and helped with our initial draping of the fondant, which can be tricky for a beginner. After that he basically sat at his table in the middle of the class with his head down scratching something on a piece of paper as if he were a disgruntled child on a time-out. Myself and the rest of the students worked on our individual cake creations mixing food coloring into fondant to then work on cutting out flowers and such with cookie cutters. He would answer a question or help a student only when asked. He offered me one tip as I was working, that was it. He didn’t mention that the class was an hour and a half, so when there were 4 minutes left to class… he told us class was over in four minutes. Gee thanks. I may be wrong, and I hope I am, but my first impression was that he hates his job, and hates teaching class. From this interaction, I would not EVER order a cake from this man. Looking from some of the samples in the studio, he does very nice work. But the thought of dealing with his lack of customer service seems like a nightmare to me. I’ll pass. If you bought a groupon, see if you can get a refund before it expires this month.

I have not tasted their cakes, I took a decorating class. I too, went through groupon. I find it hard to believe that the original price for the class was $ 75. We were given a box of fondant(so at least I can return the one I purchased per the directions of the woman I spoke to when I set up the appointment and get some of my $ back.) We learned how to get the fondant onto the cake, when we asked questions about how to tell if it was the right consistency the teacher couldn’t explain, he ‘just knows’. We then learned how to make ribbons and use cookies cutters. That’s it. We spent the next hour decorating on our own with cookie cutters. I spent less and had 4 classes all jam packed with info and hands on help at another place. I won’t be taking the next class here.

Having already bought the Groupon for the cake decorating class, I decided to go despite the negative reviews. I wasn’t expecting much. While most of what other reviewers are saying is true(hence the 4 stars), my sister and I still had a great time. I didn’t mind sharing materials; it gave us a chance to know our classmates. Working with a styrofoam cake was much easier than working with an actual cake – smoother, lighter, and no crumbs. There were plenty of colors to choose from; not just three. We learned a lot of helpful tips and new techniques. The instructor was pleasant, helpful and very informative. Judging by the cakes on display, he is also a very talented cake decorator. I will definitely keep this bakery in mind the next time I need a cake.

I ordered a special cake for my best friend’s surprise 50th birthday party. The husband owner was wonderful and his design is fabulous. Unfortunately, his wife has a terrible attitude and does not listen. I did not get the cake I ordered. While the exterior decoration was incredible, the inside cake was not as ordered and was a complete embarrassment. I would have given them 3 stars, but the wife’s response was unprofessional, rude, insulting and downright unacceptable. Based on that, they only earned 1 star from me and I would urge you to be careful if considering working with them. I am sorry for the husband who is a creative genius.
