I have only gone to 2 barber shops in my lifetime. I lived in Paradise Valley until I was 12 and went to a shop there from birth. When I moved to Scottsdale my family started going to Gio’s. I have been going there for about 15 years now and have since moved about 30 minutes away from Gio’s and I still make the drive. It is an amazing shop with great people. It is a great price and a wonderful value. Don’t save $ 5 on your haircut by going to some big chain with inexperienced barbers who don’t know you or care what you end up looking like. I went to Franco initially but he sadly passed away several years ago, so I’ve been going to the owner Gio ever since. It really is a great shop and if you’re looking for a place to get a solid cut, definitely look no further. My whole family visits Gio’s and we wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I stopped into Gio’s the other day, expecting your everyday run of the mill men’s haircut. However, what I got was anything but. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly staff and made to feel welcome, as if I had been there many times(this was my first visit). The place was busy with activity and I felt the positive vibe created by all of the barbers and their clients. A gentleman by the name of Chris Saunders had just finished his previous client and was able to accommodate me as a walk-in, desperately in need of a cut. Chris asked me in detail what I wanted, studied my head and hair, and repeated what I had said back to me, just to make sure we were on the same page… and then he went to work. He was skilled at multi-tasking, carrying and holding a conversation on many topics, while he methodically followed every detail of the instructions I had offered him. I was also impressed that this«barber» asked me if I wanted my hair cut with the traditional barber’s clippers, or with scissors. I chose the scissors, then sat back and marveled at the precision and skill he demonstrated with his tools. It seemed to me that Chris was the best of two worlds… both a barber and a stylist. And my favorite part??? The straight razor shave. It was smooth, no cuts, burns, or even a single bump the following day. Chris has mad skills and I give him and Gio’s at 64th and Bell my highest recommendation. Scott Poissoit

A true barbershop! Excellent haircut and a hot lather neck shave leaves the chain places far behind. Professional staff that will have you looking good when you leave. Also the convenience of a sports bar next door makes for a good pit stop if you arrive early.

First time trying this place, but I will definitely be back. Olesya does an excellent job and was good for conversation as well!

A Real Barber Shop for Real Men. I really enjoyed my first cut at Gio’s. The place looks like an old time barber shop, no frills, not pretty, just a great place to get your hair cut. I came here because my long time barber(Nodari) just moved here from one of those big pretty boy chains. You get good conversation a good cut and a reasonable price here and they even have a hot towel for you if you want one. I will be back soon. Ask for Nodari and if it is your first visit, use the $ 5 off coupon I used. I found the coupon on the web at
Hairs to you, Cheers.

If you’re a guy looking for«barber shop» atmosphere and prices — but — you want a place that knows the classic and current hair trends, then you need to head to Gio’s and ask for Nodari. The guy knows his stuff and can talk about just any subject — smart guy. I’ve followed him from V’s to Gio’s and would drive to Tucson if I had to. Whether you are 20 or 60, or anywhere in between, Nodari honestly is the best. If I didn’t like their prices($ 19 for great cut, neck shave, massage if you want it), I’d tell Nodari he’s cheating himself by not going to the big ticket places where he could make a bundle. I’m not a relative or a friend, simply and honestly just a customer that — when I find the right service level and ability — I stick by it and spread the word. Try the place out, ask for Nodari, and then come back to Unilocal and let us all know what you think. I’m the guy that says«I dare you to post a negative» — I’m that sure you’ll have a great experience and put my word on it.

normal hair cuts are about $ 20. they know what they are doing and use a hot lather at the end to shave your neck. i’ve been going for about 10 years. normal guys should feel right at home here! a true barber shop. never a long wait for a walk in either.
