My fiancé and I just traveled 9 days in a vehicle on a cross country drive from Connecticut to settle in Phoenix. We had very little time to find an apartment and furniture since my fiancé is in the military and is deploying soon. We found our apartment after a one day search and were in the market to rent furniture since we don’t know if we’ll be staying in the area for that long(he gets transferred quite frequently). We walked into Cort, Scottsdale(granted, this was after days of living out of hotels, going on little sleep and having a VERY long day), so we didn’t look our best. We were approached by an older lady with short brown hair. She greeted us and asked us what we were in the market for. We explained we were living in a hotel and were in need of furniture fast. When my fiancé told her we were looking to get the furniture delivered the next day, she had the audacity to laugh at us and said, «are you joking?» She wasn’t saying it in a laughing way. She was being condescending and rude. Complete attitude. We then followed her to the desk so she could check on whether or not it was possible for Cort to deliver the next day. She looked in her book, then proceeded to tell us that there would be, «a very high fee for next day delivery.» Okay, that’s fine… we were hoping she would tell us if they could do it or not. Instead, we had to ask her, «how long would it take for you to find out if delivery tomorrow is possible?» She said, «Well…I’ll have to make a phone call.» Then she was sure to explain that, «there would be an extra fee of $ 389 for next day delivery… in addition to your furniture.» Umm… yeah. We KNOW that the fee would be in addition to our furniture. I mean, I realize we were walking in and asking for something on short notice. We understand that. But she treated us with such an attitude, like we were second class citizens and like she couldn’t be bothered to help us. This is our first and without a doubt our last experience with Cort. So instead, we drove over to Ashley furniture and purchased instead. We had an excellent experience with great customer service.
