I unapologetically love Boondocks. It’s refreshingly unlike anything else in that area of old-town. The crowd is down to earth, the food is simple, and the décor is relaxed. Last Sunday my friends and I spent hours there to cool down after«Sunday Funday» at RnR. Such a good choice. The live band was amazing and we were able to pass the time by playing a variety of games, like bags. Great bonding. On Thursday nights, they have«free» poker. You’re able to play for sport and without the risk of losing all your money! Love Boondocks. Go there!

This place sucks I waited 25 minutes for a drink because all of the 3 bartenders clearly couldn’t handle having 17 people at the bar. And somehow couldn’t see that I was the only person without a drink. Thanks to the baldish bartender who finally asked after I decided I wouldn’t buy anything here anymore for what I wanted to drink and jokingly denied me water for a few seconds. As for the bearded bartender and the older one with the spade tattoo thanks for nothing.

pretty sweet place from what I remember… whether it was the excess tequila or the place itself, I do remember having a great time. Lots to do(pop-a-shot, bags, darts, etc.) lots of space, good drinks, friendly staff. Will be back for another night to not remember.

I used to love this place until the bartender tonight called me a bitch. I cracked a joke and he told me I was a bitch and we wouldn’t serve me. He proceeded to pour himself drinks and chat it up with his buddies all night and no longer serve the bar after the moment we got there. I will no longer come back considering the amount of disrespect I received tonight.

Boondocks is my «go to» bar in old town Scottsdale. The alcohol is cheaper than the other bars in the area and the food is very good as well. It has a great atmosphere(both indoors and outdoors) where you can play cornhole, ping pong, pool, various arcade games, and jenga. It’s the perfect place to watch sports or just hang out. I was just there for the Super Bowl and it was packed. You have to stop here if you’re looking for a cool bar that isn’t your typical old town nightclub. Ask for Joe the bartender, he will take care of you and makes great drinks.

They have poker on Thursdays! Very cool. The food was decent but just about everything is deep fried. The cheese curds were solid. The grilled cheese with bacon was a little too much. Not bad neighborhood hang out and not as crowded as some of the other spots around here.

Great country band on Wednesdays and lots of TVs for sports on the weekend. The pretzel is good and so are the duck fat fries. Can’t wait to come back.

It’s an AWESOME place! I love the pizza bites and all the beer they have there. They now are showing every Alabama game for the rest of the season, so I plan on being there ALOT!!! All the staff is friendly as well! ROLLTIDE!

Most everything about Boondocks is just OK. But there’s one thing about this place that makes it 4 stars, and that’s how FUN it is. Ping Pong Table, Pool Table, 2 Corn Hole Setups, Jenga, Skee Ball… there’s no other place in Old Town with that kind of fun atmosphere. I honestly wouldn’t recommend this place for Dinner, or really any other meal. The food we had was just OK, as was the Service. Just come in for Happy Hour and play some games. You’ll have a blast. ENJOY!

Came here last night and it was a lot of fun. Boondocks has a nice patio with cornhole, some pool and best of all it is Dog Friendly! We came here for a happy hour and had some of the sleepy dog beer(so good!) and ordered some of the pretzals and I was happy with the service, food, and beer selection. I also got some water for my puppy, and they gave me a nice dog treat for him(super cute!). So — why 4 stars and not 5 if it was a great time? Bc I don’t know what sets them apart. I need to try more thing sin their menu and really see the quality of their food. But the pretzals were bomb! And puppy enjoyed his treat!

Have been here a few times this week. The grilled cheese bites with the pepperoni are better than the bacon version. Make sure you ask for HH menu — some bartenders forget to give you one. They need some better cheese than ballpark nacho cheese for the pretzel. Outdoor bar and TV sets were great for the Wisconsin/UK game with full volume. Plenty of bartenders and good service for the hour I spent in the back. wish they would offer just a ground beef burger, but they grind 4 meats for their burger which I’m not a fan. Next time, I try the chicken tenders — they looked great,

I won’t say for sure that this place is a racist establishment, but it sure seemed that way. I wish I could give it negative stars. My dad and brother were in town so we went here to grab some burgers and beers. The beer buckets came out relatively quick, but we waited for our food for OVERANHOUR before deciding to leave for another burger joint. Yes, that’s right, OVERANHOUR and the food STILL hadn’t come out. We ordered 4 burgers and I was starting to wonder if they had to go out and slaughter the cows or something, it was taking that long. The table to our right which showed up at least an hour after we ordered and the table behind us which showed up at least 30 minutes after we ordered both had their food brought out before ours and the only difference between those tables and us? Well, our party had 3 black people whereas the other tables were all white people. Like I said, I won’t say for sure whether we were treated crappily because of race, but really, there should be no reason whatsoever for me to even get that impression. The waitress was ok(I think her name was Brooklyn), but she should have noticed that we had been waiting for our food for, again, OVERANHOUR and she should have done something about it. I used to wait tables back in my college days and I never would have let customers just sit for over an hour. The manager(who I’m pretty sure was drunk) should have done more than just give us 50% off of the two beer buckets we ordered. They should have been 100% off considering the HORRIBLE service and experience we had. My alma mater sometimes has alumni events here, but I will be contacting the president of the alumni association to ensure that future watch parties and alumni events are NEVER held at this place. I have never had such a horrible experience or been treated so terribly in my life. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague.

I didn’t really care for this place. Too small to have a band as the noise levels don’t allow socialization. The bar tenders always have a sour puss face and really slow. We only ordered chips and trio dips so I am not sure how the rest of the food taste. I will say our waitress was very nice and attentive. The environment was prepies in their 30’s &40’s reliving their frat/sorority days.

This is THE place to play corn hole and ping pong while watching the game with friends. Later in the day, it turns, strangely, into a meeting spot for Scottsdale more mature crowd. Lots to do, lots to drink. Great hang out place. Only issue I have had, twice, is game watchers acting like idiots, yelling, fighting, etc. People who are very TEAMPROUD seem to have trouble with their mouths and tempers in open areas… They have a jalapeño burger that will burn your face off, I think it was called the sin burger. The ribs and wings are good, best was mac and cheese… Beer is in cans, prices are good. Service is usually great. Bring your jersey, and some brawn…

While patio bars and Scottsdale aren’t really my favorite thing, this one is ok. I prefer this concept to Spanish Fly, mostly because I’m not worried about me shoved into the pool if somebody stumbles into me. Pros: Lots of things to do. Large bar, plenty of TVs, bags(or corn hole if you’re from the Midwest), couches and tables. The appetizers I tried were very good… the Whiskey Wings had a great, unique flavor-though I missed the ranch dressing. The fried brussels sprouts were quite good, but almost too flavorful for a stand-alone dish… they might do better alongside an entrée or salad. Service was good, considering the crowd. They were prepared for the busy night ahead of them. It doesn’t seem too difficult to get a seat ahead of a popular televised sporting event. Cons: The setup of our table wasn’t great for watching our chosen sporting event, on only one TV at the time. We couldn’t all sit on one side of the table so it was awkward. The fan(that I acknowledge is necessary this time of year) was too high and too loud. Men don’t appreciate how annoying it is to have hair incessently blown into your face to tickle your nose no matter what you do. I wasn’t willing to sit in front of it for the hours we would be there, so the seating options were further restricted. The TVs combined with music and talking were too loud. Even for a bar. It was too much. The bills were delivered without the itemized copy. When the server offers to split the check, it should be automatic to itemize. We weren’t sure who got charged for which split items, and couldn’t double check for accuracy.
