Well it stayed open a year longer than I anticipated. It must have been held together with outside money because it certainly wasn’t turning a profit. I wouldn’t be surprised if it closed owing venders. There was no closing party or advance notice. I hear Nick bartender found a job but know nothing about Derek, Brenda or any of the others. I think some of them had no other skills. If you know their whereabouts plase let us know. Nick is at Prestons on Thompson Peak at Pima.

I was extremely upset to hear that Bamboo Club has closed!!! They just offered a new groupon a couple of weeks ago and the only way that I heard that they closed was from an email that Groupon sent out. I wish they would have let their customers on their email list know that they were closing. Honestly, Bamboo Club was one of our favorite restaurants in the valley. I hope that someone from the Bamboo Club management sees this Unilocal review and responds to why they closed and why they didn’t let their patrons on their email list know ahead of time. I think that would have been the right thing to do. Bamboo Club will truly be missed.

This place is closed. I know it wasn’t trendy and some may be surprised that it was still around but it was a great place with good food, nice service and an all night Happy Hour… it will be missed!

We attempted to eat at Bamboo Club to celebrate my birthday and requested to sit in 1 of 5 open booths. The hostess told us no because they were all reserved. Perhaps she meant they didn’t want to clean them since two still had dirty dishes on them. The restaurant was about 1⁄3 full so there were many open tables at the 6 o’clock hour; more than enough seating for any reserved guests. I had no idea eating in their booths was such a privilege. We didn’t stick around long enough to find out.

Bring a group and order family style so you get a chance to try more than one of their great dishes. Sesame chicken(best that I’ve tasted), Mongolian beef(spring onions with strong flavor), and Cantonese noodles(huge scallops, tasty noodles – we were fighting over these at the end) were the three dishes my table shared, and since there were only three in our party, my plate ended up being filled at least twice. I lost track after that. Food comas do that. Since it all tasted so good, I couldn’t help myself. Disorientation set in. The three of us just kept passing the plates around until nothing was left. I am sure that I saw Mark H. lick a plate. On my first trip here last summer, I had the lettuce wraps(excellent) and the Pad Thai. However, I’m not a fan of the Bamboo Peking Duck only because I like crispy duck not slices of duck(personal preference only – absolutely nothing wrong with the duck). Our waiter was a hip, happy, friendly dude. The bar area was hopping on a Wednesday night, and we were offered half price on bottles of selected wines. Don’t know if that is an every Wednesday night special or not.

I am increasing this establishment’s rating from four stars to five stars. Second visit and this time the experience was almost perfect. We all arrived for dinner at about 7pm and, because it was Wednesday, we ordered a bottle of excellent Argentinian Malbec for half price. What a great way to start a meal. We checked out the menu and everything looked wonderful. We eventually decided on Mongolian beef, sesame chicken and the Cantonese noodle dish. Each dish was wonderfully flavorful and the three of us shared the dishes so that we enjoyed the distinct taste of all the individual spices and we were all completely full by the end of the meal. The waiter, a Matthew McConaughey doppelgänger(well, just his accent) was very capable and his service was excellent. We didn’t order dessert because we didn’t take any food home with us. The only drawback to this restaurant is that it is a rather a long drive from the Biltmore area. This place renewed my faith in good Thai food. The Bamboo Club has oodles of it.

Overall awful experience. Food was good. Horrible customer service. Owner is very unprofessional she literally started a fight in the middle of the restaurant and got in our face. No common courtesy. No attempt to even make customer happy.

Stopped in at an off time and it had several tables full. Only one waitress was taking care of everyone. I feel like the Bamboo Club of old had a little more going for it. The lunch portions are very small, the iced tea tasted old, the whole restaurant feels like it needs updating.

The seafood here is fresh and the serving is generous. I had the scallops marinated in their Saigon sauce. It was a little spicy and full of flavor. My husband had the teriyaki salmon served with spinach. We had the sampler as a starter, it was large enough for 4 people. Our waiter John was friendly and very knowledgable about the ingredients in every dish. It was such a pleasure to have him wait on us. He made great suggestions and explained that the dishes are made to order to accommodate our preferences. Prices are reasonable for the portion sizes. Our dessert choice was a freshly baked to order macadamia nut cookie, it was so yummy! Big enough to share with others.

First time here despite the mixed reviews on Unilocal. The first thing I did was to check the cleanliness of the flatware as one Unilocaler suggested after having a «dirty» experience. Everything ok on that end. The orders included The sampler which provided coconut shrimp, balls of sweet and sour chicken, pot stickers and eggs rolls. The stand out item were the egg rolls, followed by the sweet and sour chicken, shrimp and pot stickers. Pot stickers were missing some flavors especially ginger. Dipping sauce had little ginger to help the pot stickers along so I would not order potstickers here. Also had Strawberry-Ginger Chicken Salad. Generous portion but I did not find it flavorful. I found two things missing – the ginger flavor and the chicken. Would not order this again. The mongolian beef and the mandarin orange were well prepared as was the five vegetable fried rice. Just the right amount of sesame oil without the saltiness that often is characteristic of fried rice. The Thai spicy shrimp dish was not spicy and there was nothing Thai about it. No thai flavors to speak of. The green beans that accompanied the shrimp were nicely done – still a bit crunchy instead of being overcooked. The service was fine. I think the issue with Bamboo Club is the pricing. Very high prices, and in some cases, double of what would be charged at your average or even higher end Chinese restaurant. I think calling it an «Asian Bistro» does not warrant those high price points. The décor seems tired but I am not rating on décor since I don’t eat décor. But I have to say that when you charge high prices, the client expects a nice place to eat along with great food.

The food is really delicious but the cleanliness is the issue. The plates are always filthy, the tea pots are always gross, the silverware always have left over food. I have talked to Brenda(the owner) about this issue and she just states that the dishwasher makes the marks on the plates, I then preceded to ask her when was the last time she purchased them and she rolled her eyes and literally went to go sleep behind the booth next to the glass windows of the party room. It is unfortunate because of the quality of the food this place only gets two stars. But if you can ignore the disgust of the restaurant and the dirt literally on the tree as you walk in ASKFORJOHNASYOURSERVER, he is always good at conversation he knows how to hype up a plate. This place is horrible!!! I use to love the one near asu. I ordered the Wong tong soup it took a while to come out. I was observing the people that were sitting next to me and the lady order the exact same soup as I did but she felt like the soup with spicy. So they took back the soup and they brought me the exact same soup she was eating from. They just added more juice so it was still warm. The spoon still had the lady’s lipstick on it. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant.

My Bamboo Club experience was one of the worst! The food was simply aweful! And very costly at that! My husband ordered sizzling Vietnamese Steak which was boiled pieces of meat full of sugar with no other taste. Truly a disappointment at $ 19.95 and very small portion. I ordered pad thai noodle at $ 13.95 disappointment. Our appetizer at $ 7.95 was the worst egg-rolls i have ever had. It was old and tough not crunchy and fresh. I have no idea how this place can survive serving such bad food in such small quanteties. Our server was the best part of our visit. She was so sweet so i did not feel i should complain to her. Waste of Friday Evening!

This was at one time a great place to eat. Now, the food is average at best, but the prices are over the top. The fact that the place was basically empty is no surprise. Don’t bother.

Food is very delicious, however this last time we noticed that portions were smaller, way smaller. We usually order 2 entrees to share because it was very well served, however this time we had to order an extra one because what we usually order was not enough. I am not complaining, we actually got to try a new dish and it was delicious! Enjoy!!!

We haven’t been here in awhile. We first noticed that the prices have gone up. Our server was pleasant and had been employed there for some time. He was very informative. We got there around 5:30, ahead of the crowd. I went on Unilocal and checked in and found a coupon for any appetizer so we chose the Coconut Shrimp. It was definitely tasty and the bed of slaw was also appetizing. I had the Cantonese noodles which I thought were too thick, almost like the Yakisoba noodles. There wasn’t that many noodles with the dish I prefer the thinner ones. There was lots of veggies and mixture of meats which overpowered the noodles. We also shared the Hawaiian Macadamia Nut Chicken which had the same ingredients as the noodle dish except for the nuts.

Met a colleague here for lunch recently. I’ve been dying to give this place a try because I pass by it frequently. After browsing the menu, I decided to order off the lunch special menu where you can select a salad, appetizer, and entrée for $ 12.95 or $ 14.95 depending on the entrée selection. I ordered: Pickled Cucumber Salad Pork Potstickers Orange Chicken Fried Rice My order totaled $ 12.95 for those selections, which is a pretty good deal considering the amount of food you get. The Pickled Cucumber Salad was pretty good… it’s very sweet and has a little sour flavor to it. A nice start for lunch. The Pork Potstickers were just OK. They were kind of hard on the edges, which means they were left out under a heat lamp too long. The Orange Chicken was OK… very sweet. The Fried Rice was very good… it helped to lessen the sweetness of the Orange Chicken, so it complimented it very well. Overall, it was an average lunch. I’d consider coming back again. When I first moved to Arizona in the late 1990’s, the valley’s foodie community was even smaller, and there were fewer websites to help us discover new places. That was when The Bamboo Club was my little secret. I would take many dates up from Tempe to a restaurant in Scottsdale that served a style of pacific rim which was much better than anything at PF Chang’s(which was sadly popular and considered a standard at the time). Bamboo Club then had a meteoric rise and fall, opening then closing several locations around the valley. In a strange way the failure worked out for me, because Bamboo Club is once again my little secret. While The Bamboo Club isn’t quite as vibrant as it was back then, the food is still fantastic. The mandarin orange chicken with crispy spinach is by far the best you will have in the valley. The Macadamia nut encrusted halibut is also delectable. Prices are a little high, but there’s a great deal on Local Dines( ). A $ 40 for $ 20 gift certificate. Totally worth it.
