My girlfiend and I just had the meatball parm sandwich and a gluten free panini. Absolutely delicious! We’re coming back for sure!

This place has really really good gluten free pizza! Definitely recommend it. It’s not super thin and/or overly crunchy, it tastes like a regular pizza, which is very hard to find in this area.

Exactly what you would expect from any pizza place that wants to stay in business. You can get a slice any time of day in a flash. It doesn’t taste like they use Ragu the sauce and the prices are fair. I pass two other places to here.

The best food ever! Came in for wings while my boyfriend was getting a haircut, the wings were so good we came in for lunch. The guy suggested the meatball parm sandwich and wow what a treat! Talk about melts in your mouth food. I will be back for sure

Each time I come back to Schenectady to visit family, I hit up one of my go-to spots. Unfortunately… well rather fortunately, my go-to spot was closed, so I tried a new spot, 5th and 50 pizzeria. I walked in and it was empty-I was surprised… I think this is more of a take-out spot. I had to feed five people so I got a whole sicilian pie with tomato sauce and parmesan. I also got two antipasto salads which were made to order and had a lot of meat and good dressing. I have to say, the food was really good, especially the xtra large cannolis for dessert. The guy behind the counter was friendly and offered to make me a fresh pie. I was in a rush so I took the one that they were serving for slices, but everything was still tasty! It’s conveniently located. I’ll surely be back.

This is my usual go to place for Gluten Free Pizza as I love where they get there crust from. Solid pizza but I can not forgive the service the last three times I’ve called ahead for big 60+ dollars, and they never have been on time! ½ hour plus waiting and no sorry nothing! Inexcusable when I have people waiting on this! Looks like I’ll go to the other Scotia pizza place that uses the same crust! Bye bye bye! Ps when I pay for celery and dressing please put it in the order!

A favorite place to order in from while at home or at the office. The lunch specials menu they fax to our office each week is always filled with awesome flavor combinations and deals. The sandwiches(warm and cold) are a favorite of mine!

The fact that this place won an award speaks to the sad state of pizza in the Capital Region. I made a special trip for lunch one day after reading about the contest in Metroland. First, the décor and atmosphere is nonexistent. Grungy chairs and tables in a cold gray room. Admittedly, I prefer thin crust round pizza. This pizza was of the thick, square slice variety. It was doughy, heavy and flavorless. Seriously? I ordered two slices and made it through one. The second slice went in the trash. Maybe they had an off day. But I will never go back. I’d hit the frozen pizza aisle at Price Chopper over this.

I’m not sure about the buzz and the hype from the Pizza Wars that 5th and 50 Pizzeria likes to boast about. It’s a good pizza and is quite tasty, but I didn’t find it to be an award winning slice of pie. Regardless, the staff was friendly, they have quite a few menu options and the pizza is good. I’ll be back, but on the merits of the pizza itself and not the Pizza Wars.

this is the closest gluten-free pizza place to my house. by about 25 minutes. while i found the pizza to be quite tasty(and a good g-f pizza is hard to find!) i found the service to be atrocious! on three occasions i have ordered a pizza from here. all three were a let down as far as service is concerned. on the phone the girl(who has always answered and always manned register) was downright rude. The first time: the first time i called i ‘sat on hold’ for more than 15 minutes… that is ‘sat on hold’ as in the receiver of the phone was set on the counter and for 15 minutes i listened to the girl and a guy answer other phone calls and take orders… while i waited. i chalked it up to a bad day, but… as i had no takeout menu available, nor could i find one online, i asked what kinds of specialty pizzas might be available. i was asked what i was looking to find. i told her i was looking for a mediterranean or veggie-lovers type pizza. she snorted and said no, don’t you have your menu? i told her it was my first time and asked if she could tell me the price of a gluten free pizza. she asked what size and i asked what sizes were available. she then asked what size i was looking for again. i told her i was looking to feed two people. she sighed, told me to hold because i was«not [her] only customer and [she had] to wait on others, too» when she came back she asked if i had«finally» decided on a size. again i said i was looking to feed two. she said it depended on how many slices we wanted. i asked about an 8 cut and she responded that they measure by inches not by slices!!! after a few more rounds she gave me three sizes and their corresponding prices. i ordered and was told it would be a 45 minute wait as they were busy. honestly this did not strike me as a bad wait for a smaller pizza joint on a football night… 50 minutes later when i went to pick it up the pizza in the box was ½ the size she said on the phone. upon asking why i received an eye-roll, a shrug of her shoulders, and the explanation that that is the size on the dough they buy but they like to do a thicker crust so it is never that big. as if i should have known. i chalked all of this up to a bad night for her. by the way: pizza tasted amazing!!! Second order: called. vary rude and short, but took my order. was told 45 minutes. again, was game for the wait. showed up 50 minutes later and was told it was not ready it would be a half-hour. when i asked why the girl said, with an eye roll, that they were ‘obviously busy’ and that she had only ‘just’ gotten off the phone with me 10 minutes ago. when i showed her that my call history showed near an hour since we spoke(and the short duration of the call) she told me that was not true and walked away. 40 more minutes and many rude comments later i was finally in possession of an amazing pizza… though i was not sure if the awesome-ness of the pizza was worth the abuse of little miss rude! Third order: done. NEVER going back!(though i may send a friend to order/pick up a pizza for me under their name.) as long as ever was the wait(57 minutes). my husband picked up, though i did not tell him *why* i wanted him to go in, and not me. according to him: the miserable girl behind the register was as rude as ever. of course, the pizza was great again! consistently awesome pizza. let the record show that i would not mind the wait if it was stated beforehand AND if the service was not so horrible and the one rude girl GONE.

Nice thin NY Style pizza similar to «I Love» in Troy. A large is an 8 cut so the slices are huge. Its too bad I don’t live closer or have much reason to go to Scotia. I would like to try one of the specialty pizzas. The inside is kinda shabby but its mostly take-out business anyway.

The best onion and pepper pizza in the area. The sauce is excellent and they cut their veggie toppings to just the right thickness.

I’m not sure how this ended up as the best pizza from«Pizza Wars 2011.» It’s OK. Pretty decent. But I’ve got some grievances. What particularly confused me is the fact that being a pizza place, and obviously advertising based on their success at this Pizza Wars thing, they apparently don’t have much in the way of pizza ready to go during the lunch hour. You wouldn’t really expect that to be the case. My friends and I came here shortly after noontime for lunch. There were 2 slices of cheese, 3 slices of pepperoni, and a small tray of tomato pie with grated cheese. That’s it. That’s literally all they had out, and they weren’t super busy. The next cheese pizza wasn’t going to be ready for another 10 minutes, according to the guy working the counter. It also took about five minutes for us to even be acknowledged. When we walked in, they must have heard the door open. Instead of coming out to greet the customer, the guy working the register spent several minutes continuing his conversation with his co-worker in the back. He didn’t even peek out to see if anyone was there. The«parking» here is tough to come by, especially when some schlemiel decides to park in the wrong direction. The pizza was, as I mentioned, OK. Not great. Not amazing. Certainly not the best. It’s good enough that I can see myself coming back here if I’m hungry and nearby, but it’s nothing that I’d go out of my way to get.

This is award winning pizza for a reason. Their pizzas are consistently excellent with a great sauce base. some pizzas just have that something special and rise above the average. This is definitely one of the best.

There is a reason why they won Pizza Wars 2011. Proabably the best, consisted pizza I eatten. The only down side for me is they don’t have one closer to where I live. Their wings are awesome too, always cooked the way I like them. Everytime you order something they give you a magnet and with 10 magnets you get a free pizza.

Located on the sharp corner of 5th Street and Route 50, 5th&50 Pizzeria! Very limited on site parking with street parking on 5th Street. 5th&50 Pizzeria offers pizza(round or sheet and by the slice), calzones, fried appetizers, salads, subs, pasta dinners, and cold drinks from the cooler. I ordered an 8-cut(18-inch pie) Sausage Pizza. The toppings were a big greasy mess(sausage chunks, mozzarella chunks & sauce) oozing off the pizza and into the box. The good thin crust was soft and chewy and did not get soggy from toppings. I needed a fork and knife for this meal. The pizza tasted alright.
