The Maids

I wish I’d read the reviews before I scheduled.
The best I can say is that I appreciated that they were in and out quickly and the workers were friendly and appeared hardworking. I only hope they’re fairly compensated for their work and not penalized as a result of the many negative reviews. Clearly, the problems stem from the top down.
The service was ridiculously overpriced, but I knew their rates ahead of time and wouldn’t have minded if they’d done the thorough, top-​to-​bottom clean they promised. They only clean the things on their checklist. If it’s not on their list, don’t expect it to be cleaned. For example, they moved my bathroom scale to clean around it, but couldn’t be bothered to wipe the dust from the scale as they moved it. Also, I had to scrub spots from my laundry room floor after they left.
The dust on a deep windowsill in my basement window was left untouched, and while they apparently dusted cobwebs from another basement window, they broke the security bar in that one. When I complained, Arlene, the owner of the service, offered to send someone to come look at it – as if I’m going to trust some unknown amateur to repair the damage! My security system guy is coming out this week to repair it.
In short, I would advise all to steer clear of The Maids. Consumers have plenty of choices when it comes to cleaning services, and this isn’t a choice I’d make again. As others noted, it’s clear that the owner has a blame-​the-​customer attitude and lacks basic customer service skills, the cleaning is mediocre at best and the rates are well above those of comparable services.

Terrible — do not use. The owner is rude and has no idea of what customer service means. She has nothing but excuses for the poor service that her company provides and tries to put the blame on the customer. Very mediocre cleaning and horrible attitude and customer service.

This cleaning service is absolutely horrible. they did not do a good job cleaning the house and were just in a rush to get out. and they are not flexible at all re: scheduling. Their rates are the highest in the area and it is for a mediocre service at best.
