My son hurt his knee in gym. Instead of spending hours in the ER I decided to try Midwest. He was seen by Mike. He was very professional. We were in and out. The entire staff was great. Even received a follow up call. I would definitely recommend this business if you can’t get to you primary care physician.

I checked for reviews before I went here and there were none so hopefully this helps someone else. This is not a review for the doctor, my issue was resolved. This is an issue for the amount they choose to bill for the visits. I went in on 10/26/2015 for a sinus infection and laryngitis(I also had an eye infection but that had already been treated by my eye doctor). They gave me a strep test, which I expected. I also received a flu test(when I asked why they were giving it to me I was told«we do it for everyone»(I did not have flu like symptoms). I walked out with a prescription for a z-pack and a cough syrup. My symptoms were cleared but at my original appointment I was told I should come back in a week to follow up either way. I did not have my bill yet and showed up to my appointment, the doctor said everything was clear and I could continue to use the cough syrup as needed. The problem came when I got my bill. I have a high deductible health plan with an HSA card. I have had this for many years and I go to urgent care clinics at least once a year for sickness when I can’t get into my primary doctor soon enough. I am very aware of what I normally pay. Typically for a sinus infection my insurance is billed around $ 120 and my out of pocket is around $ 90. This is what I expected my bill to be(a little more for the strep test). I have also never been asked to come back for a follow up, unless my symptoms do not clear. The bill I received from my first visit was: Office Visit– $ 361(189.05 after insurance) Strep Test– $ 62(17.14 after insurance) Flu Test– $ 62(17.14 after insurance) Another Flu test– $ 62(17.14 after insurance) Oxygen Test– $ 41(0 after insurance) Urgent Care Charge– $ 25(0.50 after insurance) My total bill before insurance was $ 621, when I called to ask how they could possible charge that much for a visit I was told that is what they have contracted with BCBS. The crazy part is my sister had the exact same symptoms as me a few days later, she went to an urgent care clinic in St. John and her bill before insurance was $ 120 for the office visit and $ 60 for a strep test. I also asked why I was charged twice for a flu test(especially since I didn’t think it was necessary) and was told that they do two test, one for common things and the other for all the«nasty ones». The bill for my follow up visit: Office Visit– $ 218(112.52 after insurance) Evening Charge– $ 25(0 after insurance) Urgent Care Charge– $ 25(0 after insurance) That puts my grand total at $ 889 charged to my insurance(I came out of pocket $ 353.49 after insurance). When I called to pay the bill I let them know how upset I was and was told that I could write a letter to corporate. I told them that I would write a review and post it so that no one else makes the mistake I did. I will never use this company again, and I recommend that you do not either. If you wonder why health insurance cost so much, this is why.
