Gerber partners with my insurance company and it is close to home, so I took my vehicle there. The good reviews on Unilocal also helped in the decision. The did a thorough inspection of my vehicle when I dropped it off identifying any other flaws. This covers them on the back end so they are not blamed for anything. My insurance company had already determined the damage and work that was needed. I am very satisfied with their work. I did get an expected day it would be ready, but nothing concrete. They provide status calls on Tuesday and Thursday. The only downside to my call was I didn’t get a lot of information except for them to say it might be ready the next day. The guy didn’t know if it had been painted yet or not. If you don’t have good information to give, the call isn’t worth that much. In the end, it was ready the next day. I definitely recommend them, but my advise is to make sure you get more definitive information from them so you can plan your schedule accordingly.

When I hit an exploded tire laying in the middle of the highway on my way to work a few weeks ago, I had no idea where to begin to look to getting my front bumper fixed/replaced. My boyfriend’s family takes all of their cars here, and so I went a little bit out of my way to take mine here too. Don, the estimator, did a very thorough inspection when he gave me my estimate.(I got one other estimate at a place in Wicker Park and it was about $ 50 lower but I realized the guy spent about 5 seconds looking at it and missed a few other broken parts that Don had found.) I called them on a Monday morning at 8am to tell them I would be dropping my car off at lunch time. Despite not giving them a heads up to order the parts in time, my car was ready on Wednesday — 1 day ahead of schedule. They called me every day to give me an update on the status of the repairs which I loved. When they found one additional broken part, a $ 13.50 bumper bracket, they called and told me that too. When I picked up my car Thursday morning, the total was exactly the estimate + the 13.50 bracket. No surprises! My car looks great. Everybody here was so nice and helpful. I hope that I do not need any additional repairs, but if i do, I will only be going here! Only negative: For the past week I have missed calls from an «unknown» number EVERY day TWICE a day during work and it has been driving me crazy. Finally I picked up today and realized it has been a Gerber survey this whole time. I still gave them all 10’s but definitely a few too many phone calls :)
