Banquets at St. George by Ace Catering

Make sure to get 4 – 6 drinks when you show up. The bar shuts down for a good hour and a half with no warning. Food is decent though.

We had our wedding here this past march! I was pretty great! Loved that Hilda held our hands the entire way.
We were married in the small room & had our reception in the larger room. My only complaint about the small room is that it cost $ 500 to rent even in the winter! All you get are the chairs and the room. Seemed a bit over priced to me.
I also wish they had a larger bridal suite.
The reception was beautiful and the food delicious. My only complaint with dinner service was that they forgot to serve my vegetarian guests their meals! I found out as I started making my rounds during dinner. I had to go to the kitchen to get it straightened out… very annoying. Other than that it was a wonderful evening.
**never saw the security guard until the reception was over… Not sure why we paid for the night when he was nowhere to be found.
I’d definitely refer anyone to book events here!

We had the pleasure of having our wedding at this banquet hall with Hilda serving as the planner and Ruben as the chef. The set up, taste testing, communication were all fantastic. Ruben and Hilda make a fantastic team and I couldn’t even imagine having our wedding anywhere else now that it’s over.
The food was incredible, almost every single guest said something to us about one food item or another. There’s a reason for this, Ruben won ACF chef of the year in 2011, and it is no surprise to me.
If you’re looking to do your wedding reception here there are lots of little things that this hall does above and beyond other halls that make it totally worth. The separate bridal suite is one thing that comes to mind that was a great thing to have.
Overall I cannot say enough good things about this hall and the people that run it!

I’ve been at the Banquets at St. George for a few wedding sand have never been disappointed. From the unassuming exterior, you wouldn’t necessarily assume that a a modern banquet facility would be connected to the Greek Orthodox church, but it’s there…
Service was great. Hilda and Ruben that run H&R catering that operate the hall are very nice to work with and really friendly. Overall great experience! They recently added uplighting to main banquet room which was a really nice touch.

This is the Banquets at St George in Schererville, located South of Route 30 and East of Route 41. This is the hall connected to the Greek church in town.
I had my wedding here and it was perfect. We got married on site, in the small banquet hall. We then used the large banquet hall for our 300+ guests for the reception.
The food is wonderful. You cannot get that quality of food for the price too many places. They offered a full service open bar (speak to them about priced packages).
