Very unhappy experience this year! My daughter has been taking skiing lesson for three years here. But this year the communication is very poor! First when I checked to sign up, the class has already begun. The girl said, they offer make up lesson at the end of season. So I think it’s OK. It’s approaching the end of season, so I called to check the schedule for this weekend, a girl said there was normal class. And they will call me for arranging the make up! There was never anybody call me back!!! But actually there was only make up lesson. And even worse, there was no class for my daughter’s level, since I didn’t arrange it with them! And since we did go for vacation and miss class during the session, I checked for extra make up schedule, but was told there was only one make up allowed! WHY don’t you tell me that at the first place! Be aware of this! We won’t return next year!

It’s just so awesome that there’s a legitimate little ski slope only a few minutes away from Downtown Schenectady. Perfect place to spend your day in the winter, without having to head out of town and pay resort prices. I was surprised by how much they have to offer.

This is a great place to learn how to ski! It’s inexpensive and there are a lot of groupons and options on liftopia to buy tickets at an even cheaper price. The snow is always groomed well and the staff is friendly. The only thing that can be better is the lodge. During peak season it gets really crowded and there are usually a lot of birthday parties. The café is also pretty decent and not too over priced.

Bought a couple Groupons the other day complete with lessons, rental and lift ticket and headed to Maple Ridge for the day. This was my son’s first time snowboarding and my first time skiing in 20 years and we had a great day; couldn’t have been better. The reviews are right that this is the best place to take a new skier/snowboarder. There’s something to be said for a ski place that is manageable compared to numerous larger mountains I’ve been to. You enter the main building which is 20 steps from the car and to the left is a fireplace and about 25 picnic tables, to the right is the snack bar with a nice menu(see pics) and straight ahead all at one counter are lift tickets, lesson, and general info. The rental shop is 20 steps in the next building over. We both took lessons and Sylvia and Sarah were wonderful instructors. The slopes were well-groomed and staff members were super helpful and friendly.

My 4 yr old daughter is learning to ski here. She loves it and the instructors are very good with her. Morning lessons seem to be less crowded. It has been a 3:1 instructor student ratio so far. Prices are reasonable too.

I went snowboarding with my friend for the first time @ Maple Ski Ridge during President’s Day Weekend and it was great! It wasn’t over crowded so I could enjoy myself as I fell on my butt over and over lol.

It’s lovely. Don’t compare it to a big mountain or a big business. It’s friendly, super-sweet, less crowded, less expensive, much cleaner. Smaller ski school classes, and crackerjack instructors my whole extended family loved on this one-time barely planned outing. Okay, Smaller hills, fewer trails. No lift lines, so there ya go! Lunch counter is a little better, less pricey. Anyway, I love it.
