food is uniformly terrible. I’ve been there three time over the last several years. Had their BBQ pork, a beef dish and last night, chicken. tasteless and overpriced. My wife ordered a Pizza that was lame. flatbread with some cheese a little bit of tomato and it costs $ 11! compare that to really good local pizza you can get for $ 5 plus a free can of soda. They get an extra star because of a good selection of draft beers that are reasonably priced otherwise I rate 1 star. The only reason we go is to hear a friend’s band. If there was any competition at all, they’d be out of business in a month.

Every time I have gone here half the food is spoiled. I have heard it from other people. It used to be good, I don’t know what happened. Last time I got a burger with coleslaw and the coleslaw looked like it had been sitting in the cooler for weeks. The time before the fish I ordered was so rancid I could smell it coming from the kitchen.

I have been here maybe 10 times since moving to Nisky, and there are few things that you are certain to find at LTs: you will never have the same experience twice. In fact, the only steady certainty is the beer selection, with the standard mass produced domestics on tap and a few specialty beers(Davidsons, Harpoon) rating a solid two stars. Service:4 stars– I have never had an issue with service here and have always found them to be prompt and dutiful. Food Quality: 3 stars average, but varies — food is either bad(but not horrible) or good(but not great). Guarantees: the«famous» chili is really not that good — ever. Seasoned Fries and Nachos are a good bet. Food Value: 2 Stars. They are pretty overpriced food wise, but beers are reasonably priced. If the food was great, they would be worth the cost. Atmosphere: 3 someone else said it best — sizzler meets sports bar. Very clean, lots of TVs in bar area to watch games. Whoever installed the video projector should be fired, they installed the wrong type for such large projection. Not great, not horrible, I still go despite the bad experiences I have had here out of convenience.

Nice, chill environment, with exceptional service! The wings were good, I enjoyed a Lil Joe’s Burger with macaroni salad for side. Would recommend and most certainly return.

Dinner with the fam… Took a poll and everyone said 3 stars. We arrived especially because Rich Connley was going to draw caricatures. My daughter called ahead and they said he wasn’t paid by the restaurant so they weren’t sure he would be there. So we showed up and he had another commitment! We were told to check his facebook page next time. I ordered nacho with chili which was a 3 and sangria which was 3. The rest of our group granddaughter, grandson, daughter and husband said everything was a 3. My grandsons potatoes in his potato salad from the salad bar was extremely under cooked like hockey pucks! Our waitress Kaitlin was very nice… will have to come back to get the free caricature on Tuesday nights! All in all it was a fun family night gathering.

It’s just not very good BBQ for the money. The food is inconsistent and the prices are out of bounds. I’m not sure how this place is in business to be honest. Do you want quality BBQ at Fair prices? Order from Memphis King.

I’ve been here a few times. Sometimes it’s really good and others just so-so. They have a nice bar and the atmosphere is relaxed. Sometimes they have comedians and music. They do participate in some wonderful fundraisers every year !

This place is so hit and miss. Sometimes I’ll go and have great food with terrible service, the next time I’ll have mediocre food with decent service. The drink service is a bit slower then I’d like. More often then not, they have run out of one thing or another. When I first started going here, which wasn’t more than a year ago, everything was good. Time before last that I went with a group of four half of us were completely forgotten about. Two people were almost done with their meals before the other two even got theirs. This last time, everything came out relatively quick, however, it left a lot to be desired. Medium rare steaks were coming out medium well, the lobster mac and cheese was strange-there was a lobster in it, not lobster bits. We keep trying to give it the benefit of the doubt, but it’s not like it used to be.

Went there tonight. Our server was very friendly and helpful. The French onion soup was great. Prime rib was very good. Hubby did not enjoy the ribs as much. The salad bar was broken down by 8 pm so that was not available.

If you’re looking for the best wings in the capital district… Look no further! Great food and staff. They even have a great promotion on Living Social.

This place would be great if the food was better. I was pretty disappointed with what I ordered and so was the other person I was with. The servers were nice to us but I also saw something that upset me. One of the servers(who was clearly older or had at least been there longest) had been bossing another server around so badly. She was telling her what to do in the most rude way then sitting there talking to the bartender while she did all the work. No one should ever be treated the way that girl was treated and I felt so bad. I have a feeling she must have been in the family since I know it’s family run. If I were her boss I would have fired her on the spot.

Yeah, I’m going to be a bit critical here with this funny stuff. Had an absolutely terrible dinner here. Asked for a sample of brisket(sample was excellent) ordered the«basket-o-brisket», got the«small ladle-o-brisket». The meat was sliced pretty thin, this could not mask the general toughness of the prepared meat. The roll it’s served on was very good. Came with a fairly good portion of wife ordered the worlds driest order of ribs, swear to god they were a hot second from being jerky! The mashed potatoes and garlic green beans were very good. Also the service was excellent, server was observant as to empty drinks, plates and was very accommodating. I’m stuck here, I hope they get their stuff together here. I like the general atmosphere. Just very dissatisfied. Oh by the way absolutely best rum and cokes!

I have read the negative reviews and can see how this place can be hit or miss. THEGOOD. This was my first time there and the service was very good but I wonder how they would have done if it was busy. I was there to watch football and since it was empty they gladly put my game on the big screen. They had all the nfl games on. As a plus It wasnt loud as they muted the volume. Waitress and bartender were very attentive. Drinks would come within a minute of ordering. Another customer spilled a drink and the owner was on it immediately. Staff was friendly and stopped by my table many times. Plenty parking. Clean bathroom. Good beer selection including Lake Placid on tap. Dry rub wings were great. The owner takes pride in the food. He was talking about a jalapeño biscuit he made so I ordered it. It was a huge portion of biscuits covered in a spicy sausage gravy with a sunny side egg on top. Unique and delicious. Desert was peanut butter pie with cookie crust and pb cups in it. Best I ever had. Food was $ 30 before tip which was reasonable considering how good it was. THEBAD. hard chairs were a pain in my butt. Need to upgrade tvs. Not an attractive place(guess this should go under ugly). THEUGLY. The gnats. I killed four. They were non stop on my drink and food and it’s freezing outside. Food and service is worth going back for and I want to see a small business owner succeed.

Food is average at best. Service is pretty good. For a place that seems so proud of their barbecue you would think it would be better. Below average pulled pork. Salad bar is the best thing. Limited options, but good stuff. No reason to go back.

Went to the restaurant to have dinner with my family and then talk to the owner about a catering job. The food was really good and the staff nice. The reception they catered was great, the staff were efficient and pleasant. The pulled pork was a huge hit! Everybody at the party commented on how good the food was. It was a success and the owner LJ was patient and so great to deal with. He answered all my(many) questions. I totally recommend the catering as well as the restaurant. D. Glass

Walked in and nobody even said hello. We seated ourselves, waited 10 minutes, nobody even gave us a menu. Finally just walked out. Aesthetically the place needs a serious update. Wont go back.

LJ and the crew are some of the most friendly and inviting people in the business! The ambience around the bar is bright and entertaining and you’re not crowded when you dine in. These guys do a phenomenal job in the area of Niskayuna that has other choices, but they strive to make you there’s.

I’ve driven by this place for years, and never tried it out, until last night. Went around 6:30(on a Saturday), and the place was very busy. I was happy about this, since I had no idea what to expect — and ‘busy’ should mean popular/good. After clearing a booth, they seated us, and the waitress was over quickly to take drink orders. I found their menu highly confusing. Not only do they organize items by nonsensical titles(such as «Get a Wiggle On», which includes their hamburgers), but the colors/fonts on the menu made it difficult to read(and no, I don’t wear glasses). Their prices also seemed high. For instance, it’s $ 10 for a basic burger, an extra $ 1.50 for bacon, and $.75 for cheese. Really? Extra fees like that just annoy me — or if they’re added — I expect a heaping of both cheese and bacon. That was not the case. The burger was good, but was luke-warm when it arrived, so it had obviously been sitting out for a bit. They had a surprisingly decent selection of domestic beers(and some foreign, like Guinness) on tap. Overall: Service: A — Our waitress was very friendly/personable, and was attentive. Food: C+ — It was a decent burger, but nothing special Prices: C — Food prices were about 20% too high Overall, if you’re in Niskayuna, and looking for a good place to go that has things on the menu for the whole family/group, I would suggest this place. However, be prepared to pay a premium for common foods.

I’ve lived in upstate NY for three years now. This was the first restaurants I’ve ever walked out of. I am a stay-at-home-mom of three kids. Oldest is 5. Locals have good things to say about this place. On Tuesdays, kids eat free. We decided to give it a shot. Upon arriving I knew that this place was not what I expected. It looked like a diner. Bad linoleum flooring, small tables with hard chairs, Christmas lights for decorations well past Christmas. My thought? Glorified diner. Glorified because there is a lobster tank upon entering. That, and the prices. We had made a reservation but the place was empty. Only one or two other tables were taken. The place probably has 40 tables. Before our jackets were off, the waitress was asking for drink orders.(Dude — it’s dead in here… give me a second — I have three young kids I need to get situated!) Drinks are included with the $ 6.95(ohmygod expensive) kids meals so we ordered two Sprites for the kids(as juice was not an option on the menu and they can’t have milk). The waitress comes back with the drinks. She explains that they ran out of drink lids so she just didn’t fill them as full.(Oh, so there is less to spill?) The«glasses» were those 6oz clear cheap store brand«Solo» cups you can buy. You know, the ones that tip over if a breeze comes by. And guess what? Within five minutes both my kids drinks were in my lap. I looked at my husband and said, «This isn’t going to work. We need to leave.» We asked to cancel the order and went through the process of gathering a 5, 3 and 9month old.(If you know how much work that takes — you know it had to be bad to go through that effort… not even taking in consideration we still would need to eat dinner). The owner rushed over and said, «Oh, I don’t mind if they spill Sprite — this is kid’s night.» I responded, «Of course you don’t mind — it wasn’t your lap.» I don’t recommend this place. It’s nothing more than a glorified diner with expensive pricing. The items on the menu were steak and seafood dishes. Although I didn’t actually taste anything… would you spend $ 24.95 on a seafood dish in a place that serves drinks in store brand solo cups? $ 6.95 for a cheese quesadilla on the kids menu? It’s half that price other places.(Like Ruby Tuesdays — who has leather seats and carpeting) Worst part — my 9 month old dropped one of her satin ballet slippers during our attempt to leave. So sad to loose a shoe that was worth more than the place!

When you walk in, it looks like a cross between a Sizzler and a sports bar. When we walked out, it felt like a cross between TGIFriday’s and the school cafeteria. We’ve been a couple of times now, once during a busy rush and once just after, and very oddly we got better service when it was busy. When we came after the lunch rush(and it IS busy during weekday lunches — perhaps just because there isn’t a lunch place this side of Niskayuna, other than the nearby chinese buffet place), we got seated and greeted in a cheery manner but then the service at the varying stages got slower and slower. As for the food: I’m not feeling it, except in the grease-processing glands of my body. The first time we came we had the vaunted BBQ, which was pretty ordinary and a bit cold in both forms we got it. Second time around we got the unusual(for a wings-and-a-beer kind of place) «Schenectady» — a fried eggplant sandwich — and the Portabella mushroom sandwich, plus our junior members got kids dishes. Now, props to LT’s for adding these kinds of dishes(turkey wraps are also on the menu) and for having a bit more local flair than the typical Ruby Tuesday-Houligan’s-TGIF style joint. But the execution was limpid; while I could taste that there had once been vegetables there, the oil factor(fried food, inside buttered and grilled bread) was dominant. The salad bar is OK: not a lot of choices but it was fresh enough. The one standout was the cole slaw, which was surprisingly horseradishy. Then there are the prices: $ 7 for a side of O-rings with nine rings? $ 7 for a piece of pie that was half the size of the usual diner pie? And sandwiches/burgers that start out at $ 10. You better be better than standard diner fare to get the premiums on the food. I will say the staff were friendly(if distracted by other duties, obviously) and the place was very casual and inviting for a strip mall joint, and the TVs on the sports bar, well, they worked and showed TV sports. Conclusion: if you have a jones for some fried food and a brewski, and you don’t mind paying the premium, it’s fine. But nothing quite as special as what previous reviews had brought me to believe. And, I will say it again, swimming in oil.
