this location was so much better when it first opened. we used to get subs a couple times a month while at work and sandwiches are definitely my favorite type of food. we always ordered online and picked them up. ill use mr subb and subway as comparison because those are probably the biggest sub chains in the area. size wise, smaller than subway or mr subb, i believe the large is 8″ vs 12″. taste wise, better than subway, not as good as mr. subb. on my last order i got the hunter and requested less lettuce, but extra tomatoes and onion. there were 2 pieces of onion on one half of the sub. asked for mayo packets on the side but they didnt include any and i had to go back. for the price of the 8″ sub id say its not really worth it, especially if youre getting delivery because they increase the prices for delivery. yes, theyre ready really fast, like really, really fast. always less than 5 mins from ordering, but id rather wait a few more minutes and have my food as i ordered it.

Jimmy John’s sucks, period. Not just this location I think the whole chain sucks as we have tried JJ’s in several different cities. Small and expensive for what you get, I guess the guy that started JJ’s needs the money for his big game hunting trips that includes the killing of endangered rhinos.(I’m serious here, google it) Want a real sub with a Big Bang for your buck? Go to la Gioia on Van Vranken avenue, super fresh, large and delicious.

My husband and I were so happy to hear this place was opening! Have been to this location at least a dozen times and have never had an issue. The staff is always friendly and makes great sandwiches. We usually order ahead online and have never had any issues or problems with it not being ready when we pick up. Really hope this place can stay in business. It always seems to be dead when we come.

This is not at all a reflection on this location in particular, but Jimmy John’s, in general, is very disappointing. Very slim selection of subs, no hot subs, only one kind of cheese(provolone), and it’s overpriced. There’s literally nothing exciting about this restaurant.

Very disappointed… Subs are done freakishly fast, but they are also freakishly small and almost no meat. I repeat, I got one with double meat and their was only 3 slices of slimy turkey. As much as I hate subway, even they put out a better product. Shop at a local sub shop if you are looking for deli(Gershons is across the road).

I didn’t have much time for lunch and just didn’t want McDonalds, so I gave ‘freaky fast’ a shot. It doesn’t get any faster. My sandwich was made before I got my change back. A sub is a sub, it was good, but nobody can touch their speed. I’ll be back for sure.

Yet another sub chain, so I think it’s fair to judge it against the other claimants in the area. On the one hand, we have Subway, the largest franchised sub place in the world. Then we could use DiBella’s, our regional Rochester-originated higher end sub chain, as the other bookend. Jimmy John’s is more expensive than Subway, and not as good as Dibella’s. Which would normally be a niche to fill, but it’s also not as good as Subway on the apples-to-apples subs I’ve ordered up. «Gourmet» it is not. And if we judge sandwiches by the meats, it’s strictly C+ stuff(Gershon’s deli is just across the street and down a little) and if we judge by the bread, which was stale and kind of tasteless on both occasions I tried it, it’s more in the D category. Needless to say, 8″ sandwiches are smaller than Subway’s 12″(you can do the math) and the 4″ sandwiches are smaller than Subway’s 6″. And all are smaller than DiBellla’s gargantuan concoctions. This location has odd seating — raised two person booths that feel like old-style school desks, and a few larger tables up front — with the line for the subs facing the«schooldesk» booths. It’s just weird whether you’re sitting or waiting for a sandwich, because, well, it feels like one is a layered ingredient in an elaborate human-based sandwich. The interior is at least visually a little more interesting than Subway, but maybe that’s because one is so familiar with the latter there is no novelty involved. In any event, sharing an entrance way with Hot Harry’s here on Union Street, it at least provides an alternative for the quick-family-fast-casual food outing without a detour, so that is probably the primary reason we might return, if half of us want Buffalo Thai burritos and the other half want a BLT club. But that’s the extent to which«competent» will encourage our patronage.

Excellent subs that always taste fresh. i usually get the Vito with peppers and it is always great and tastes considerably better than subway or Mr. Subb. The meats are of higher quality and the vegetables don’t come out of a bag like subway. Also their tuna tastes homemade and is the only tuna i will eat out. Aslo they seem cheaper than their competition.

Clean facility and friendly staff. I was expecting a deli like place and am puzzled as to how Jimmy John’s is different from, say, Subway?
