Disappointed. I’ve been here a few times and was blown away by the food and service. Not this time. Not by a long mile. We languished at the hostess stand while two girls on the floor looked at us, paused, and kept on going without a greeting. Weird. We were sat, and then we sat, and sat, and sat. The bartender took it upon herself to see if we needed anything to drink. We placed our bottled wine order and she was back in 5 minutes to say they were out of our choice but offered an upgrade(in hand) at no extra charge. 15 very long minutes later our waitress arrived to take our order. Salads were good, but the house dressing was markedly different from previous visits. This was to become a theme. Our entrees arrived and this was went things went south. The Veal Ferrara, enjoyed on 2 previous visits, was indistinguishable from the Veal Marsala. Identical sauces– identical presentation. We literally couldn’t tell which was which. The entrée I had experienced prior was not to be found. Service was, at best, absent. I can’t explain how previous visits went so well and tonight was so unsatisfying. Embarrassed that I talked this place up so much in advance for such a fail. Had things been consistent this would have become my go-to, but I don’t think I’ll be back. Shame.

Well we found this gem based on the recommendation of one of my Italian co-workers. It is quietly tucked away in a strip mall and is quite unassuming from the outside. Inside is nice and feels like home. We had a reservation for a Friday night though I’m not entirely sure you’d need it as they weren’t quite that busy. We started out with the broccoli rabe and sausage app which was absolutely delicious. It was spicy, not too salty, tasted fresh and was complemented by some other flavors — maybe fennel? Regardless it was fantastic. For my main course I opted for the seared scallops served in a pomegranate acrodulce sauce. Scallops can be a tricky dish if not done right but these were amazing! Each entrée also comes with a salad and your choice of pasta. All their salad dressings are homemade and I loved my red wine vinaigrette house dressing. The pasta was fresh, incredible and the tomato based sauce was excellent. My husband got the classic chicken parm. It was carefully breaded and cooked in a way that left the meat tender and delicious. It was really nicely done. Service was great and prices were reasonable. I know there about a million Italian places in upstate NY so the options are endless but I’d highly suggest you try this place if you’re looking for an authentic meets modern neighborhood Italian place.

Wonderful little restaurant tucked away in a strip mall. Don’t be fooled by the location, these guys are making great food. Everything we had was very good. The bread they put on the table is excellent. Dense and chewy with a great crust. If you get a salad, get the Italian dressing. It’s made from scratch, and it’s fantastic. It’s a creamy Italian, with bits of fresh garlic, shallots and herbs. It’s full of flavor and very fresh tasting. My pappardelle with bolognese sauce was absolutely delicious. My wife kept stealing bites off my plate. Needless to say, I ate every last bit of the generous portion. My wife’s tagliatelle with seasonal vegetables(their take on a pasta primavera) also was good. Loaded with vegetables, there was more vegetables than pasta(which I liked) in a tasty, and very light, lemon/butter/garlic sauce. Prices are reasonable too.

If your are Italian, or you want to give Italian food a try, you need to plan a dinner at Cibo’s. The cook is excellent! The pasta is very good but the veal dishes are out of this world. The staff was very attentive to our needs but not over whelming. Very good selection of wine and the Italian bread was home made. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

My wife and I have now been to E.K.‘s Cibo twice. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. After seeing only 3 Unilocal reviews, I had to create an account to provide my first review. I would feel confident recommending anything on the menu and my wife and I now refer to the chef as «the king of sauces». Everyone that we have spoken to about E.K.‘s, including those people that we have referred, have provided very positive feedback. There are lots of good places to eat Italian food in the area, but you will not regret choosing E.K.‘s Cibo.

I’ve lived near this restaurant for nearly a year and just recently went there for dinner. My gf and I have heard really good things about this place and were very excited to go. I ordered chicken marsala which came with a salad or soup and a choice of either one of 3 fresh pastas or a typical boxed pasta(I forget how they worded it but I think it was what you’d buy in a store). I went with fresh spaghetti and a salad(house dressing). My gf ordered the lobster risotto and had a choice of salad or soup, and went with salad. Everything was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. Service was very good our server was very knowledgeable. Prices were very reasonable for the quality.

Was invited to dinner here, and having driven by it many times, had never been inside. Sorry we wasted so many trips! The mussels appetizer was so tender and tasty that we brought home the broth for a second round with pasta. The sauces are so light yet flavorful that each one is a pleasure. The staff is so nice and knowledgeable. Such a pleasant surprise in such an unassuming location.

Incredible dining experience at E.K.‘s Cibo! I’ll admit, when we first walked in I was skeptical. The bar side is very small and the décor is very«old school» italian. But the food is anything but old school. My fiancé got a glass of Riesling and myself a split of prosecco. Delish! For our first course we ordered the seafood chowder(special) and the chicken osso buco w/creamy polenta(on the menu). The chowder had great flavor, thinner than your typical chowder. The chicken fell off the bone and the polenta was so creamy and savory. That sauce though… so good. This was my favorite part of the meal. For entrees we ordered the 14 oz strip steak with roasted potatoes & winter squash(menu), and the veal chop w/parmesan risotto(special). The steak was perfectly medium rare, and so tender. My veal chop was cooked medium and very flavorful. Accompaniments were delicious as well(the risotto = amazing). Also, portion size was very generous. $ 36 for the veal chop special, but it was two meals worth! For dessert, we ordered the flourless chocolate torte and pistachio gelato. Hellooo yummy. The gelato was so velvety and the pistachio flavor was not overpowering. Overall, it was some of the best food I’ve had in a long time. Can’t wait to bring more family members here.

We are so happy that we stopped into Cibo! It has a warm and inviting atmosphere plus an incredibly friendly and attentive waitstaff. I had the Pasta with Vodka Sauce, they offered Gluten free pasta and it was amazing, portion sizes were enough for two meals! We will definitely be back again.
