20 North is the best bar in Schenectady. I graduated Union College in 2007 and started a printing business in Schenectady shortly thereafter and I have seen many bars and restaurants come and go over the past 10 – 13 years. I have watched 20 North Broadway cultivate an organic following and customer allegiance that you don’t see at any other bar in the city. People love this place for a reason; consistent food, and no nonsense atmosphere, if you’re inside, you’re family.

Hands down best wings in town. Great burgers, sandwiches with a solid beer selection.

My favorite bar in Schenectady. It’s a great spot to meet up with old friends for a few cheap drinks and DELICIOUS food. Those wings! That pastrami sandwich! Hot dang it doesn’t get any better. My only complaint is that I wish it was a little bigger. In the warmer months it’s not an issue because of the back patio but in the colder months it can get a little cramped. But that doesn’t stop me from going!

20 North is a MUST try! Don’t be fooled by its Hubble appearance– just hang out there for a while and you’ll quickly understand why it is so loved. The owners are a few guys who absolutely love their jobs, love beer, and love food. Their fun-loving nature is so evident and very contagious. Best of all, they are there when the place is open and are usually the servers and bartenders. If you love wings, this is definitely the place to go. There’s nothing worse than a mushy chicken wing with boring sauce– you’ll never have that here. They make them right every, single, time. At first glance, their menu might seem like a typical dive menu, but try a few things and you’ll see that they have just as much personality as the building and the owners. Their passion for food really shines through and you’ll never be served a bad dish or a «just okay» burger. Also, this is a place where you should try the specials. They’re never yesterday’s leftover, but a flash of creativity from the chef. We are there at least once a month and has definitely become our«go to».

Very satisfying bar food. Definitely not the kind of food that makes you feel good about yourself. Burger was good. Wings were good. Salad was okay, but thats all I deserve for trying to fool myself into thinking i should eat a salad at a bar..

I love genuine dive bars and this is about as good as it gets. The wings are excellent — easily the best in the area, and some of the best I’ve ever had.(Yes, I’ve been to Duffs and the Anchor Bar in Buffalo — these are as good.) Everyone says the burgers are good, but I haven’t been able to get past ordering the wings. Three way are good, the BBQ chipolte are very tasty, but the regular hot are my favorite. The garlic parm are my least favorite as the tend to be a little dry. All the wings are big and meaty. The only downside is it’s a Steeler bar, and as a rabid Ravens fan, it’s tough to sit under a terrible towel as one enjoys some tasty wings. The last time we were in there for wing night(Wednesdays), Dave was our server. I pointed out that there was sufficient wall space for a Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl Championship banner. He didn’t miss a beat, «Yes, there is», he said, «But it will be a cold day in hell before that happens.» Yeah, I like this place… and we proudly wear our Ravens gear…

Best wings anywhere. Awesome burgers as well. Only drawback is kitchen can be a little slow so plan on having an extra drink or 3. Thus is, just a great neighborhood Tavern

Great neighborhood place with awesome food. Extra points for being a Steelers bar! They always play great music here(jam band stuff) and it is very relaxing place to chill. No pretentious jerks to mess it up is right. If you expect roses on the tables, go else where. If you want to have a good time and relax, this is your place. Burgers, wings all top notch.

We love this place. The wings are amazing. Homemade Mac salad is super good and the beer is always cold. No over inflated beer prices here. Don’t expect fancy service … No fancy decorations but its clean. The guys are great and the food is home made and fantastic.

This place just rocks as a wonderful place to chill! No pretentious wanna be idiots screwing that up… Order a Long Trail and any of their pub menu and then sit back and relax. Have another Long Trail cuz their kitchen is taking the time to get it right. Went here on a Sat afternoon with a couple of friends, sat outside under an umbrella and let the great soundtrack wash over me. I’ve been here a bunch, but the friends were new to the place. All can’t wait ’til the next time!

I love me some chicken wings. When I’m craving some wings there is only one place that can fit the bill for my hunger. The environment is the perfect wing eating situation. Greatly priced drinks is another huge bonus. The staff is wonderful and always friendly and nice. If you want chicken wings. There is one place to go and here it is.

Awesome wings and $ 2PBR pounders. The best bar in town for great wings and cheap drinks. Cheers!

Great wings. Got the wings that won the Schenectady Wing Walk, 3 Ways. I think garlic parm, medium and bbq mixed together. Very good. Also had the special burger, the bacon cheeseburger on a pretzel roll. Perfectly cooked. Great roll. Couldn’t have been better. Between this place and Centre Street Pub next door, this is the block to eat in Schenectady.

Hit 20 North for Wing Wednesday this week. First time there… recommended by a few friends. The place seemed very low key, and casual. Cool«hippie» décor, and music… which is nice for a change. Although, there still were plenty of tvs with sports on as well. We were happy to find a table(there aren’t many) on what I was told was usually a very busy night. Guess we just got lucky. The beer selection was good… I tried the Mad Jack IPA, which is brewed locally. Very good! We got medium buffalo wings, and onion rings. Possibly the best in town on both accounts! Crispy, perfectly sauced wings, and the battered onion rings were awesome! Only thing I would have liked in addition would be a nice spicy onion ring sauce. They might even have it… but I didn’t ask. The owner/server, Dave, was very cool. Introduced himself, and was friendly and attentive. Overall, an A+. We will definitely be back!

20 North is a hidden gem, no doubt. It’s small inside, with a few booths, and a few tables. Their food is incredible — try the Allman Burger, and definitely their wings. But what’s the secret to this place’s success? The owner, Dave. He’s the coolest bar owner you’ll meet — and takes time to talk to you. Becoming a ‘regular’ at 20 North is something you should aspire to.

Love this place. Best wings in town. Great atmosphere. All walks of life are welcome. It’s the Cheers of Schenectady; everybody knows your name. I’ve never ‘not’ had a good time there. Do yourself a favor & stop by, say hi to Dave & the boys, and have a drink.

First visit today. This bar has very good food, decent beer and a great small bar atmosphere. Prices were low, service good, and there was no pretend enthusiasm or fake theme or similar nonsense. What you see is what you get. A local bar lovers local bar. I asked the bartender how the local IPA was and he said«bad» but allowed that he did not like IPA. He was wrong, it was the best IPA they had(better by far than the long trail IPA I had first and pretty good by any standard) but what I appreciated was the unvarnished opinion and transparent advice. Some girl at the bar suggested I alter the pastrami sandwich and take Russian instead of horseradish on it. Good call. Great crisp wings, great fries, great pastrami on rye with onions and Russian. Cole slaw was ok but a little too much dressing. What was nice was that it did not come from a bag, it was hand cut. Great place to watch football as well. Wife and kids liked the cozy booth that still permitted viewing several games at once. Good people in this place too. Unilocal had this one right. I shall return!

Very pleasantly surprised when we tried this place on a Sat night couple weekends ago. Great service, solid wings and really tasty food. Homemade salads, some obvious care being taken in the kitchen. A bit of a dive, but that garners extra points from me. Will be back for sure.

Definitely an old-style tavern with it’s dark wood booths. Decent sized crowd for a Monday night, about half full. Friendly service and decent selection of beers on tap. Wife had a black and tan with a club sandwich and spiced fries while I had an Alpine Spring from Sam Adams with a Greg Allman burger(hand-formed w/bacon, cheese, BBQ sauce, onion rings, lettuce, and tomato) and sweet potato fries. It was served medium-rare, as requested. Maybe not the most flavorful meat that I’ve had for a burger, but with everything else it was quite tasty and filling. Overall, this was a very enjoyable meal for two for $ 25. Before I even got out of our booth I could smell the hot sauce on the wings at the booth behind ours. I may have to return to check them out. The one down side was the globes on the lights handing above the bar. They really need to be cleaned out. Seriously!!!
