I’ve been searching around for a gyne that I can stick with and this ain’t it! I showed up on time saw the doctor, nothing special. I complained of some itching. The doctor took a culture. Told me I’d know the results in 2 days. A week later I had no call back and no access to the test websites. I called in and the nurse told me that they weren’t up because my SS# wasn’t in the system even though it was on my intake forms. Later I called because I got a bill for $ 44 for a lab test for VD tests that I wasn’t told about. So I paid my co-pay plus $ 44 to find out that I didn’t have a yeast infection. No follow through. Just«Meh» service. My GP does a better job. I’ll just stick with them.

I had been patient of the Palatine location for awhile, but moved and this location was more convenient, and mistakenly assumed it would be simple since they are the same company. While the visit was average, I learned they don’t have access to my medical history at the Palatine office even though their doctors work out of multiple offices all called WomanCare in the NW burbs. I also had questions and felt sorta rushed or «ya ya». «nothing to worry about» instead of actually answering the questions I did have, and not really giving me space to ask other questions. But, I am more frustrated by the accessibility of doctor and nurses after the appointment. The incoming-call phone system has multiple layers of touch-tones…there is no press 0 to get a human. When you choose an option that does get a human even if its the wrong department, they put you back into the queue which must be a voicemail-only system. You leave a message with all your stats. A nurse pulls your file and returns your call several hours later and leaves you a message that she’s just returning your call, but can’t leave any detailed answers on the voicemail due to privacy rules, so «please call the office back». And so yet again you get queued into their voicemail and the vicious cycle continues. If someone answered the phone, the non-sense could be over in 5 minutes! It was recommended that I get my baseline mammogram, so I went along with it. The first screen showed areas of concern and required a second special screening and two follow-up screenings to ensure there’s no change. Fortunately, there appears to be no issue. However, it’s frightening to hear that somethings not right and the technician says call your doctor for details and discuss a course of action. But it’s nearly impossible to reach the medical staff at my doctors office!!! I never did hear from the doctor or staff. I also could not get any questions answered about unexpected side-effects for an Rx he had prescribed. This inaccessibility was an issue for me at the Palatine location too, but I liked the doctor and had virtually no concerns that required contact outside of annual exams, so I tolerated it. I have since switched to another practice outside the WC group and am much happier with the availability of PEOPLE in the office.
