This review is on the food alone. The service wasn’t «bad» just a little cold or lacking personality. Chips and salsa were outstanding. Burgers were unreal! Peppercorn steak burger was perfect. My wife got the green guac burger and also said it was amazing. The buns the bacon the meat the presentation… Perfect. I’m so glad The Cheesecake Factory was the typical zoo and we are ended up here.

First time here, it was Tuesday during a snowstorm. Just a handful of customers. Our food was hot and delicious! Our server was awesome!!! Unilocal coupon for free Bombinis; their homemade dessert donuts that are REALLY good, hot and fresh! A perfect dessert to share. Hubs had the Ricky b burger with bacon, it was juicy and tasty, the pretzel roll it was on was very good. I had the prime rib French dip, very excellent also upgraded to truffle fries with garlic, also excellent. We just drank pop, but there is a full bar. The place is very sleek and stylish and comfortable. Will def go again, menu has a lot of great choices.

When you shop your wallet off you deserve some carbs right? I think so. However when you approach the gates of this fatty goodness, you wonder why there is a crazy line by cheesecake factory and no line at the place you picked to stuff your face. Well may the odds be ever in my favor. The place is gorgeous. Cool looking décor and lightening, big booths, good looking bar. What’s not to love? The food was good, but not great. I had the ahi burger without a bun and my friend had the chicken buffalo burger. We also had crab fritters and spicey fries. The chicken burger and the crab appetizer were fanrastic. The ahi burger was perfectly cooked and tender but it had no taste. The fries were just plain awful. They were so soggy, clearly had been sitting there a while. The service put a dent into what it was already a 4 star review. Our server was not very attentive. People say the place is amazing so I plan on visiting but the first impression wasnt all that great

Very nice place. Friendly staff in a comfy and spacious location. The pickings are all prepared with care and presented nicely. The staff is courteous and loving. The menu is trim but packed with interesting offerings. Burgers are good with pretzel bun and what not but don’t be looking for anything that compares to the BIGBEAR or SECURELOWER burger joints you might find in the Urban Jungle. Shoestring fries can cool off quickly… make sure they’re hot when they get to the table. Mac n cheese is classic with extra fat/long curly elbows… so not really elbows… basically spirals… fatass spirals… holds lotsa cheddah… solid. Even the kids portion of mac n cheese is filling. I had the REDNECKTACOS… a bun… top on one side, bottom on the other… turned into the«tortilla»… then they pile on the smoked pork and bbq sauce and fixing that tasted like nice cabbages and such… not taco-y… not red neck-y… but oh-so-delicious-y. The wife-y had the SUNNYSIDEUP burger… bacon = soggy/greasy + egg + burger… yawn. Needs some waffles, maple aioli, and other craziness… TOO! The kids cheese burger was TINY with a capital T-I-N-Y! But good for a 4 or 7 yo. No special taps but not your average crap either. Lagunita’s IPA… others… yawn. I feel like we pretty much had the whole menu… basically… just change some fixings and that’s pretty much it. Nice AMBIANCE but no JAY Z… if ya get my drift…

It’s pretty sad that Woodfield has so few non-chain eating establishments. Thus, I was pretty pumped to see that a prime burger house had taken residence in the commerce capital of Schaumburg. And while my meal was *fine* overall, Ricky B’s has much room for improvement if they want to win the hearts and bellies of Woodfield shoppers. The Good: –Slick looking restaurant with lots of dark wood, plenty of booth and table seating and a sweet bar –The menu is diverse and atypical. Ricky B’s serves up items way beyond the average burger and fry combos. –Kid friendly overall. My 2 year old was a big fan of her grilled cheese plate. –Pimento cheese dip was pretty fantastic, as were the sweet potato fries with surely calorie laden dipping sauce. –My seared tuna salad was nicely put together and pretty substantial The Meh: –Staff was friendly for the most part, but a bit aloof at times. I had to flag our server down multiple times(during a slow lunch hour) for drink refills, the check, and take out boxes. –Kids menu is pretty basic — there’s lots of room to make kid’s items more inventive and healthy beyond sweet potato fries. –This resto definitely leans on the pricey side for what you get. We spent $ 55(before tax and tip) for an app, two drinks and an entrée for each adult(two of us) and one child. –Guacamole was average at best, as was my husband’s burger. Both lacked in the flavor department. I’m inclined to give Ricky B’s another shot — I really want a local spot to succeed in Woodfield!

My reviews are always short and simple. Came here on a Sunday around 4 P. M, there was no wait and the restaurant was kind of empty. The environment is very clean and our server was very nice. I ordered the original O. G Ricky B burger and my gf got the pulled pork burger. Burgers were good but they were a bit pricey. So .all in all, good burgers(above average but nothing to die for), and it was around $ 35 for 2 burgers with tip.

I would give 5 stars for great service – our waitress was nice, helpful, and very attentive. The busboys were good at refilling our drinks and clearing the table promptly. Food – pretty good, but overpriced. Four small chicken strips and a side of fries for $ 13(before tax & tip)! Friends liked their burgers, too. We all ordered various flavors of gelato shakes for dessert. We didn’t like any of our flavors(chocolate, smores, chocolate brownie)…they were kind of bland, very liquidy(instead of thick), and room temperature. I do not recommend these. The place is decorated nicely and looks upscale. For being 6pm on a weekend night, we expected a wait, but this place was not crowded at all… only a few tables had people at them.

Wandered in here as we were shopping and couldn’t be more delighted with the food and service! I got the Green Dream burger with Parmesan Truffle fries and they were both absolutely delicious. Our server, Alicia, was super nice, helpful and attentive, too. Great beer selection as well!

Disappointed. That sums up the vast majority of the visit. I had heard about Ricky B’s from a co-worker who walked by and saw they had 13 different gelato milkshakes. We were at the mall dropping off something for repair and as we were leaving to go grab dinner, we saw Ricky B’s. The menu at the door looked good and so we gave it a shot. The restaurant is quite large, but there were very few customers. It looks nice and fresh inside. Our server was super sweet! We literally said about halfway through the meal: Now there’s a girl who was raised right! She was polite and attentive and just lovely. Younger, but absolutely lovely. Good choice, hiring manager! We ordered a deal that came with an appetizer, an entrée and a dessert. He tried BBQ nachos and I went with crab cake bites. Both were good. The nachos better than the crab. The center of the crab cakes weren’t very hot so that was a bit of a letdown. His burger and fries arrived. He ate half and said it was okay, but for being a burger joint, he didn’t catch the appeal. My burger and onion rings arrived with cheese. I specifically said no cheese and so I sent it back. It was returned with cheese all over the bacon, the plate and a couple rings. I picked it off the bacon and took a bite. It was dropping with grease and was not cooked medium. Blood dripped on the plate. I sent it back for the second time. It was returned by the manager cooked to death, but I guess that’s what I get. By now, the onion rings were not hot. Just disappointing. Thank goodness dessert is right around the corner! Except that the gelato choices were vanilla. That’s it. No choices. And I had been thinking I was about to try some fun flavor of gelato based on their milkshake menu. It was fine. I ate it. But it was not what I had been hoping for at all. The(overpriced) bill arrived. We paid it and left.

I really wanted to like Ricky B’s, but overall I was disappointed. When I walked in, I immediately loved the atmosphere. Very modern, not anything you would expect out of a burger place. We were seated right away, and our server was quick to come to our table. She was very helpful and knowledgeable when it came to picking out some beers to try(I did the flight — 4 beers for $ 8). But after that, it just went downhill. I was enticed by the menu, so we ordered the parmesan truffle fries, the ahi tuna burger, and the sunny side up burger with the mac and cheese. The parmesan truffle fries were so garlicy and drenched in oil. The mac and cheese was bland. The ahi tune burger came out cold. The sunny side up burger was really thin, not seasoned well, and a sad excuse for a burger place. We were so disappointed with the food. I was also disappointed with the beers on draft — the ones they have are good, but they don’t have that many to choose from. Most are beers you see everywhere(Blue Moon, Stella, etc). Our waitress was great at first, but then later on pretty much disappeared. I don’t really see any reason to return.

Since we frequent Cheesecake Factory, I thought I would walk across the hall to Ricky B’s instead and give them a whirl. The hostess greeted us and led us to our table. I took a look around; the décor and lighting was nicely done. The service staff was really attentive and very friendly. Bus boys were very eager to clean up your plates.(This could be because I did come in during non-peak times). I had the Green Dream. Portions are huge. I ate so much that when our server said«Room for an Ice Cream Burger?» I was so disappointed for stuffing myself with my Green Dream! Argh. Damn you, tasty burger, damn you! I shall be back for your Ice Cream cousin very soon!

This is not your typical burger joint, that’s for sure. We decided to try out this new restaurant based on a FB post that I had seen and it was definitely a good choice. The décor of the restaurant is really pretty and not even close to what you would think of as a typical burger place, but then again when you look at the menu you see right away that this is anything but typical. There weren’t many people in the restaurant when we showed up, but we also went at an odd time, not quite lunch, not quite dinner. Works for me as there is no wait. The server was very friendly and very helpful answering questions and offering suggestions. They have quite a few burgers to chose from, all of which are very unique and interesting sounding. I opted for the sliders, where you got to pick three different ones from the menu and it came with a side of fries, chips or their upgraded fries. I have to say that two of the three that I picked were very tasty and one, although it was good, wasn’t good enough that I’d order it again, but that’s ok. With three sliders and fries I was happy. I would highly, highly recommend the Buffalo Ranch burger as a top pick. I also had a Thai burger which was on the sweeter side, but very good. My third, and least favorite was a Greek chicken burger, which seemed a bit dry, but then ground chicken has a tendency to be a little dry sometimes. Still tasty, just not on the same level as the Buffalo or Thai burgers. Checking in on Unilocal gave us a free dessert of their Bombinis, which are small cinnamon sugar donut bites served with three dipping sauces. I’d have to say these were incredible. I’m glad my husband liked them as well or I would have eaten every last one, They were heavenly little bites. The manager came over to check on us and see how we were doing and how everything was which was nice to see. Everyone that was working seemed genuinely happy to be there and was just super friendly. Would I go back? You bet.

I think I got food poisoning from the burgers. However, I’m trying to write a review that has to do with the taste, quality, and value rather than what it did to my bowels. I tried the sliders and ended up with three burgers that sounded very appetizing: the Tear Drop, Green Dream, and Korean. The Tear Drop was definitely the best of the bunch due to the added spice provided by the ingredients. The Green Dream had all kinds of unique ingredients but they never really melded into one taste. In the end, it ended up being a rather bland burger without a real identity. Which brings us to the Korean burger. This was literally one of the worst flavor profiles I’ve ever experienced. I almost spit up the burger after I took the first bite. At first I couldn’t tell what part of the burger made it taste so bad so I deconstructed the burger. The patty tasted fine and was actually a little more tender than the other patties. It wasn’t the Sriracha, tortilla strips, or the kimchi(which actually wasn’t that bad for a non-Korean restaurant). Instead, the culprit was some weird sauce that they put on the top bun that just made the entire thing way too sweet. But it wasn’t just the fact that it was sweet but it also tasted like I was eating a chemical that I shouldn’t be eating. I had the cheese fries which were good for about three bites and then the cheese just got to me. There’s just way too much cheese and the fries just end up being a soggy mess of cheese. When you check in, you get a free order of their dessert donuts but my advice is to pass on them. Donuts are supposed to be flaky and soft on the inside. Instead, I got a large chunk of what tasted like half-cooked pound cake batter. Way too thick to be called a «donut.» This is all before the excruciating night and early morning that followed. Why 2 stars? Their french dip was decent and didn’t give my girlfriend diarrhea. Gotta be fair.

I know what some of you are saying about the employees — do they really need 3 girls at the front to welcome people in? I mean, they’re super nice and seemed pretty sincere about wanting you to be there… It was also pretty empty inside the restaurant when we came in for a late lunch(granted, it was past the normal lunch hour), so they were probably really bored and waiting at the door like eager beavers for hungry patrons to happen through. Anyway, they’re friendly enough. I’ll just let it slide. We weren’t too hungry so we ended up splitting The Tear Drop and truffle fries. I think it was an extra $ 3 to substitute the regular fries with the truffle fries. Anyway, The Tear Drop has grilled jalapenos, tortilla strips, cheddar and pepper jack cheese, and finally some hot sauce. I think it had a nice kick to it, I do love spicy food. The meat was juicy and flavorful, just the way I like in my burgers! It’s a little pricey, in my opinion. I guess, according to them, the beef is USDA prime… so. I dunno. Good thing we shared?

The only reason I am giving a star is because the staff was friendly and our server supplied us with excellent service. My husband and I stopped in about 6:30 pm on a Thursday night. This restaurant just had its Grand Opening about a month ago and it was dinner time, so I expected us to have to wait for a table. However, to my delight it was pretty empty(red flag #1). I ordered a Korean BBQ burger and a side of fries. While were sitting there waiting for our burgers, I commented to my husband on how fast the meals were flying out of the kitchen(red flag #2). When my burger arrived it looked delicious. The burgers are pretty big, so I cut mine in half. A large amount of blood came out as I cut into it and when I looked inside it was as rare as a 3 dollar bill. The waitress got a manager and it was sent back to be cooked more because I am sure I saw the meat still moving. I waited about 5 minutes and my burger was politely returned properly cooked. My burger had a panko crust on it, a spicy BBQ sauce covered the burger and it was topped off with onion. When I tasted the burger I then wished they never brought it back. It was a hard firm patty that was as dense as a brick, the sauce was nothing great and the fries were too thin and tasteless. This was one of the worst burgers that I have ever eaten and in fact I think it was so disgusting, that it has ruined my taste for a burger for a long time to come. The bill came to $ 37 for two burgers each with a side and a soft drink. $ 37 too much in my opinion. I would look elsewhere for a great tasting burger that is not formed into a tough brick and that you would not have to sell your first born to pay for.

First time here! Our server Alicia was very friendly and helpful as there are so many choices! Her suggestions were spot on! We had the grilled pimento n chee which was fantastic. Not suggested if your trying to eat healthy. the Greek Goddess chicken burger was well seasoned. I would order this again. We also had The Bella, which was extremely tasteful! The fries which I usually do not eat anywhere were excellent! Great lunch! Will definitely go back!

Doot doo doo doo, Doot doo doo doo, Doot doo doo doo, That’s my Twilight Zone music. This was the most awkward dining experience I’ve had in quite a long while. I went in with some coworkers for lunch and we all just left feeling… funny… Let’s start from the beginning, I’d like to think I have my finger on the pulse of all things Schaumburg when it comes to dining. I had zero idea Ricky B’s was opening at Woodfield in the old Ruby Tuesday location. It seems I’m not the only clueless one because this place was completely empty yesterday. They could do with a bit of marketing to get the word out. I get it, being in a mall you can rely on foot traffic but it wouldn’t hurt to get the word out a bit. A friend saw the construction and that’s the only way I found out about Ricky B’s. So I did my usual stalking and found their Facebook and official website. The Facebook said they opened last week so we went in Friday for lunch to discover they didn’t open until 5 that day. All good, opening week so they weren’t fully open yet, just wish the hours were posted somewhere. Before going to lunch yesterday, I checked their website before going in and my first instinct was whoa, these prices are expensive for Schaumburg! Strange but true that the city price point for a $ 14 burger is completely acceptable whereas in S-Town not sure how well that will fly. I love how they’ve done their interior. It gives a very urban chic feel that I think they are trying to achieve as an upscale burger joint. Loved the chandeliers, color scheme, pseudo stone accents and comfy booths. I think my love affair with Ricky B’s ends there. They need to revamp how they seat people. It was clunky and awkward with our hostess waiting for all of us to sit down then first setting down the silverware for each person and saying there you go, then going around the entire table again to hand each person a menu. I had to thank her twice and we all just say there exchanging awkward glances during the long process and burst out laughing when she left. Very sweet lady and nothing to hold against her at all, I’m sure it’s how they want it to be done. I was a former head hostess in my younger years and recognize the nice effect actually handing menus to diners had rather than plopping them on the table. But… This was a slow strange process and my tip is to have the silverware on the table for simplicity’s sake. Our server was once again very nice, but overly attentive & robotic. It seemed like every line was rehearsed over & over and she was at our table for 80% of our meal. As were about 15 other staff members. It was so incredibly uncomfortable that we were being watched from the moment we sat down to the moment we left by a gaggle of people. There were literally 5 servers behind us standing around with a bunch more along a wall all lined up because there were no customers. Then the management… they seemed to have about 6 or 7 managers on staff, also just standing around, about 3 feet from our table staring at us as we ate, I guess waiting to see reactions? Man, it was so creepy & unsettling. And our server, nice as she may have been, needs more training in the menu. She is able to read off everything from the menu verbatim which is fabulous… but I can also read that. I asked a few questions about the food that were clearly not in the training and they completely threw her off. It was so robotic it creeped us all out — we all got asked the same questions & were told the same statements in exactly the same way with no variance. For example, all five of us were told«We cook our burgers medium with a pink center, is that okay for you?»…Yes, we’ve heard it five times now, we get it. «You can have either chips or fries or for a little extra sweet potato fries or onion rings,» said the exact same way to all five of us separately when we’re all at the same table hearing the same thing over and over. Overall service was nice, but very clunky & rehearsed in a not natural type of way. Just 13 minutes after ordering, I had the Sunnyside Up Burger with fries for $ 12 in front of me. The egg was perfectly cooked and it had a ton of thick slightly overcooked bacon on it. Overall I thought it was juicy and good, but not mindblowing. I found the fries to be very run of the mill and you can find better ones at other spots in the mall. My hope is that they are still getting their legs and the stalking staff will ease up a bit. It’s really important to give your diners a comfortable place to dine in which they really want to go back. All of my coworkers said they will not come back due to the uneasy comfort levels. I think they have intriguing burger/sandwich combinations and I would go back to try them again. Edit: Important to note that after I posted my review, I was PMed by several people who had given this place 5 stars(employees/owners or friends of employees I’m sure) in which they called me names & swore at me for my review. Classy.

I’m not one to typically write Unilocal reviews… unless the place really sucks OR it blows my mind and i have to let the world know about the amazing food and dining experience. Ricky B’s was BEYONDAMAZING!!! Don’t walk there… RUN! Yes, it’s that good! I went there with a group of 6 and we all consider ourselves to be foodies and know a good burger when we taste one :-). I ordered the Green Dream burger and it was divine!!! I can’t remember all the burgers that our group ordered, but i do remember the Tear Drop, Crispy Buffalo Chicken, and the Greek Goddess. Everyone raved about their burger choices! Oh and we also ordered the wedge salad, crab fritters and the spinach dip to share. Trust me, do not miss out on the crab fritters… they are out of this world! And my sweet potato fries were cooked to perfection! I’m drooling as I write this review… Anyways, the food was all amazing!!! Service was great… could have been faster but I guess they are still a new restaurant so I’m sure they will work out the kinks. Nevertheless, our waitress was super friendly and knowledgable about the menu :-). All in all, I LOVE this place! Can’t wait to go back and try everything else on the menu! My friends were oohing and ahhing over their drool-worthy burgers, so I’m anxious to get back in and try those as well!!! Nom nom nom!
