Julianne’s Salon & Spa

I came to this salon cause I read in the internet they specialize in cancer patients. I made an appointment for a hair cut and hair coloring. I made the appointment as early as possible. Not only the woman that I had the appointment came late and went to the to the back and took her time. Then she told me that I had appointment for a hair cut and no hair coloring. That is not what specified when I made my appointment. She started to cut my hair, color it in a hurry and then her and another woman were rolling my hair in a hurry cause she had another appointment coming. All this cost me with her products almost $ 169.00 around there. I had not done anything with my hair cause I had gone through radiation. I also gave her a tip. The shampoo girl was the best for me. When I left there I was very angry I made an appointment for next time. I did not want to tell her what I thought of her work. I would never go there again or recommend anybody. If she would had treated me like her customer I would have pay more. The other thing it was last summer. I am not sure if they had air condition cause they had some ceiling fans going on. for that kind of money she charges she should had the air on. I am not sure but I think she was the owner the way she gave orders to the other girls.
This location was great for me cause I did not have to travel far and since she specialize in cancer patients that was my main option to go there. It was a very big disappointment.

I found this place on Unilocal and saw all the great reviews so I decided to go and try it out. I called to make an appointment and they got me in right away which was awesome, at least I thought so. I came in with blonde highlights and brown underneath. I said that I didn’t want to be so blonde anymore and I found this beautiful violet color that I wanted with highlights. Alyssa did her thing. She put carmel highlights in, then colored my hair but didn’t put the violet on the ends of my hair until the last 15 minutes. She washed me, put toner on, and then she cut my hair. I absolutely love my hair cut but the color turned out horribly. It’s more red than violet, you can barely see the highlights, and because she waited to put the violet on my ends, they turned out brown. I contacted the office three times afterwards. Once through the website, once through their email, and once via text and haven’t received one response back to correct my hair. I thought I had found my salon because everyone was so nice and it seemed like they listened to what I wanted but obviously they didn’t. They won’t even return any of my communications to rectify the situation. After spending $ 259 for all of that and a $ 50 tip, I would expect to be excited about my hair, instead I’m disappointed and hate my hair. Please be careful going to this salon for color. Maybe they do everything else well but not hair coloring.

I’ve been going to Julianne’s for 2 – 3 years. Alissa does a great job with my cut and color. Both Julianne and Alissa are terrific stylists. Plus I am happy to support a local woman owned business. If you are looking for a new salon, no need to look further!

In town and needed to get my gel taken off quickly. They were able to fit me in on Christmas Eve; I’m especially glad since I called only a few hours before to see if they were open.
The place itself was nice, but small and loud on the inside. The customers there seemed like regulars, so I felt pretty good being there for the first time.
Alissa took off the gel with a soak and filling, the finished product was pretty decent!
I would probably go back if I’m in town again!

I discovered Julianne’s thanks to a Groupon Gift Certificate I received from my boyfriend for a no-​chip, paraffin mani and pedi. The ladies in there were very nice and attentive. Jessica did an amazing job on my nails! She’s GREAT (friendly/​pays attention to detail/​etc.), and I definitely recommend her to anyone looking for superior service. The atmosphere and service were excellent! Will definitely be back soon! Thanks! :)

Having moved backed to the area recently, I tried several salons before a dear friend turned me onto her stylist, Julianne. Julianne is an excellent stylist. She knew right away exactly what my hair needed. She matched my color and high-​lites perfectly. She also has beautiful spray tan applications. Highly recommend this salon.

I went to Julianne’s once with a groupon for a mani/​pedi. The services were fine, but the place wasn’t great enough to bring me back. I think part of what turned me off was the very loud personal conversation that took place with one of the workers who was on her cell phone. It was hard not to listen, and that’s not exactly what you want to hear when you’re trying to relax.

I am very pleased with Julianne’s. It was my first time there yesterday. I was in Schaumburg visiting my mom and had to kill some time while she was out running errands. I noticed (on the Unilocal app!) that they were one of the few places already open early in the morning. I called to inquire if they took walk-​ins for a pedicure and she said, «Yes…stop by.» I arrived about 5 minutes later. Alissa did my pedicure and I am very happy with it. She (and all the women here) were super friendly and we had a nice conversation during the service. This may be my new «go to» place while out in the burbs! NOTE: While you can use your debit card for services, they only accept cash for tips so come prepared! (Call ahead for more info regarding this.) This is a very cute place. I haven’t been to a «local» salon for several years and this reminds me of the small place where my mom gets her hair cut. As a matter of fact, my mom has been frustrated with her salon and I’m trying to convince her to go to Julianne’s!

The reason why I came to this salon was because I purchased a Groupon deal to get a pedicure and no-​chip manicure. I found multiple problems with the place.
First, when I had trouble finding the salon and called them to ask for help, they were extremely sassy over the phone. Then when I walked in, there were two bored looking women sitting at the front desk that looked like they wanted to go take naps.
It also seemed a bit unprofessional. I was sent to the bathroom to use the sugar scrub instead of having it done at the station.
Later when I examined the manicure, I realized the woman doing the manicure did not do a good job. It got on the skin around the nail, which could start peeling, and she missed spots along the sides of the nails.
Overall, the salon had bad service, did a bad job on the nails, and I will not find myself back there any time soon, or ever.

A review much overdue. I went here last July to get my hair done for a wedding. I really, REALLY don’t like salons (I have this fear of my hair getting messed with; as a result, I have quite the nest on my head most of the time. I also dislike the small talk, and yes, that does keep me away from certain places.
I really enjoyed my experience at Julianne’s. No small talk, and everyone was friendly. The guests were pretty nice too, a lot of women of varying ages. I can’t remember who did my hair, but she styled my hair in beach waves; and for once, my hair looked amazing. The humidity was absolutely awful that day, but my ‘do held from 10:00 until after midnight.
The next time I am brave enough to get my hair done again, I’ll go back here.

My hair turned out so nice tonight that I just had to publicly thank Carrie for her beautiful work! Carrie worked around my schedule (as usual) and I left feeling gorgeous! I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, but between Juli’s instinct and suggestions and Carrie’s get-​it-​done approach, I was in and out quickly, I have a nice cut, Carrie styled it nicely and all for a reasonable price!
If you haven’t stopped in to meet Juli, Carrie, Stella and the rest of the crew, you really should. They are the sweetest, most genuine group of women that I have ever met in this industry and I am happy to give them my business!
