We went here to get my niece’s ear pierced. First of all, the manager was rude. They pierced her right ear incorrectly. They didn’t admit it was their fault. Now she has to go through the process all over again. Never go here

I’m only rating this one star because of my ear piercing experience.
I had eight ear piercings all done at the Claire’s in McHenry IL all done over a period of five years. There they made them all nice and even and no healing problems. Now going for number nine and ten. I also have five body and facial piercings that all healed well. I would never put blame on the person who does the piercing but in this case it was a clear case of laziness. The person who did my ears was a manager with red hair. She pierced my ears with the gun, yanked them when doing it, and made them horribly uneven. I had burning in my ears for days/​weeks following then infection began and scar tissue developed. I ended up having to take them out because they never cleared up. Never has this happened with my years of getting pierced. Also, I always went to claires, for my ear piercings, never will I go there again.
I recommend going to a REAL professional at a tattoo studio who actually knows what they are doing. Do not go here thinking it is cheaper, pay the extra and see a professional.

Their products are pretty bad. The reason I said pretty bad is because some of their accessories are cute, but the quality is very bad. The hair chalk totally dried out my silky soft hair and turned it into sticky, gooey, and tangly hair. The nail polish dried up in 3 days. All the earring got from here rust if I wear it for too long. The necklace are look and feel so cheap.
The reason I still go here is cause it’s fun to browse. I do buy earrings from here, but I only wear stuff from here to school or to a friends house, any where fancy or special I cannot wear earrings from here that looks cheap. The staff are mostly nice but some are just overly aggressive and it’s annoying.
I don’t like how the stuff are overly priced. I would pay more money if the quality was good, but for cheaply made stuff and making me pay so much for junk is not cool.

I have not been in a Claire’s in forever. However, I needed to get a ring «snuggie» so my new wedding ring would stop sliding around. JCPenney suggested Claire’s. The snuggie I bought works great. I was taking a little peek around while in line. They have some cute stuff. I assumed it was only for teens but I could probably find some cool stuff here. I’m still a big fan of the cheapy costume jewelry shops in the city like So Good. They have the really funky, chunky pieces that I crave. –But I can see Claires having some fun stuff. I may have to spend more time and take another peek when I visit the mall again!

I’m a fan of Claire’s. I’ve had to have my ears repierced here and they were great with scardey cat me. I come here to buy cute, cheap earrings sometimes and always come away with some I like. They have a perpetual sale on earrings — Buy 2, get 1 free. I always buy my faux diamond sterling silver studs here and they range from $ 14-​$ 16 which isn’t bad at all in my opinion. Not to mention they have a ton of all the stupid ‘Tween stuff I love like Justin Bieber, Twilight and Harry Potter!

Cheap jewelry, it turns your skin colors. The jewelry beaks easy and the prices are high for what you are getting. My recommendation go to Chandelier Boutique in Downtown Palatine. You will be WAY happier with better quality products and awesome prices.

I know a lot of people think the only thing this store is good for is gearing up little girls with costume jewelry but I beg to differ. I’ve had four ear piercings here, never a problem (all in the lobe though. I don’t reccomend getting a cartilage etc. here if they even do them…) Their ear cleaner is great stuff and works perfectly.
As far as earrings go, they don’t have the helix’s I’m looking for BUT they have cutsey crap like turtles, butterflies and most importantly white gold earrings. It’s all about the hypo allergenic-​ness there which is great for people like me who are allergic to silver. Studs, hoops, and little gemstones are fine with me and doesn’t look like I actually GOT them specifically at Claire’s. Their white gold is CHEAP compared to what you can find it for everywhere else, and it passes for silver easily.
Their online catalog sucks though. Absolutely pointless.

This is the perfect store for cheapy jewelry and accessories. If you’re like me and love having a ton of jewelry that you’ll probably get sick of in a month then this is the place for you! Its cheap but looks great! They also have purses and other cool accessories
