Artistic Floral Design

This review is based solely on my consultation with Valerie — I did NOT contract services with her so I cannot comment on the final product.
I found Artistic Floral Designs on
. They had good reviews, so I contacted Valerie with my budget to setup a consultation. She was very flexible, and met with me later in the evening to accommodate my work schedule.
When I arrived Valerie was with another bride. She gave me several books with examples of her work (sorted by color!) to look thru while she finished. The photos were very nice, and it looked like she did great work.
The meeting went well, and we discussed options for over an hour. She was very nice, presented well and she had some really good ideas. Unfortunately, she wasted my and her time. She has a $ 1,500 minimum per event, which was way over my budget amount. On top of that, my flower quote was only at $ 800 because I was making my own centerpieces, so she was going to charge an additional $ 700 to rent an arch to meet her minimum.
I decided to go with a florist recommended by my venue. I liked Valerie, but was unhappy with how the price situation was handled. I told her my amount upfront, and I would have appreciated it if she had done the same.

A friend of mine used Artistic Floral Design for her wedding two years ago so when it came time to plan my own wedding I knew I needed to at least price out flowers through them.
The prices were comparable to other florists but the workmanship was beyond anything else I saw. Valerie spent a lot of time with me at the consultation to determine what vibe I was looking for and to throw ideas around. She was very helpful when it came to cost saving ideas. She also was very creative with the bouquets she created. I got compliments all night about the flowers.
Valerie was very organized and nothing came as a surprise when working with her as she was very upfront with everything. She made it very easy for me as a bride because I didn’t have to worry about where we were in the process as she kept me informed.

When picking wedding vendors we knew we had to consider quality, service and price, but in all fairness we could only pick two of those as most important. Artistic Floral Design is the best choice we could have made for flowers. Valerie’s knowledge of flowers, gift of style and perfect customer service was evident starting from the initial consult all the way to the wedding day. Because of her expertise and reputation in the Chicago area wedding world we let her run with her ideas about how flowers could and should look on the most important day of a woman’s life. We were not disappointed and have no regrets. Side note: the wedding was almost three weeks ago. I received a rose from my daughter and son-​in-​law at church… the rose is still alive!
