You’ve gotta love simple done real well. No folks; it’s not as easy as it sounds. I find that in life these days, many people screw up the simple things. That’s one of the many reasons why I love the Parkway Coffee Shop. They do simple real well. Evey time I’m in the area I find it hard to resist the siren’s call of their bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich(served of course on a poppy-seed roll). I suspect the rolls are from Arthur Avenue in Brooklyn, as they are perfect. The fried eggs always come out just as they should be; SLIGHTLY runny. The bacon is the ideal mix of fatty and crisp. Put it all together and you have the quintessential BE&C sandwich! All the other goodies there are are consistently excellent as well. Perfect pancakes, freedom toast, and bagels galore. The coffee and OJ are always spot-on, and the service is quick and efficient. All in all a great nostalgic spot to start ones day!

Stopped by for a quick lunch take out. Ordered a simple BLT and it was good, crispy bacon and fresh tomato and lettuce. Price was reasonable for the area. I’m looking to come back and try other items on their menu.

Hate iceberg lettuce. I know is healthy but is the cheapest green and the most tasteless. I wish they wound give 1⁄3 of the side salads they give with a different green. My smoked trout sandwich was rather good. Coffee is enough to get your caffeine fix but nothing special especially when Starbucks is a cross the street.(not a Starbucks fanatic) They only take cash or checks . ATM inside has a cost associated with it. 21 century and cash only?

The absolute worst french toast I ever had in my life! No flavor, just bad. Can the owner please teach your cooks to make french toast? not that hard to make. I am not exaggerating when I say it was bad.

IMPORTANT, In January I wrote a review of this place(which I just removed to add this message) giving it a 5 star review & the very next day another Bill D wrote a review giving it one star. A little strange to say the least. The food is very good here, prices are decent. When I read poor reviews of places that I know are excellent It makes me wonder if the competition isn’t in on it. Order a Ham, egg, & cheese sandwich on a roll(with a side order of home fries) and tell me it’s not as good or better then ANY place you have ever been, A+. Definitely THEBEST in Scarsdale.

I used to love this place and their sweet potato pancakes. But this place has gone downhill fast. We came for breakfast and sat at the counter, like we’ve done dozens of times. Ordered the sweet potato pancakes. As we tried to talk to each other, noticed that the noise was really loud compared to the way it used to be. And that was all coming from the cooks and the waiters just loudly bullshitting to each other. So our pancakes came and we started eating. I happened to look up and saw one of the cooks picking his nose. Then I looked at the other cook and he was picking his ear. Then the first cook plated english muffins and the other cook put a bunch of bacon on the grill. Neither wore gloves. Then I turned to my friend who was also seeing what I was seeing. We put our forks down, paid the bill and left. I get that it’s a local diner. Crowded. Loud. OK. But at least follow some basic, common sense rules like wearing gloves and not picking your noses or ears while cooking.

Cute spot with amazing omellets! And their chopped salads are fresh in most cases I stopped here. I can’t say I am a regular here, but I do stop from time to time when I am close by. Like I said, I have no problem with food itself, in most visits it was great. But the prices they charge you can be ridiculous sometime. Don’t get wrong, I am OK with paying extra when the food is really good, but not for basic food. Can get very busy at certain points of the day, so be prepared to the possibility you will have to wait for a table.

Food is simple, comfort fare. It is quite good though. Chopped salads and shakes are always spot on. The place is pricey for the type of food, and the waits are long on weekends.

This is a great neighborhood staple. The food is always great, the chopped salads, omelettes and French fries are awesome. The place is cramped during peak lunch hours otherwise getting a seat is ok. Think old school diner décor. During the summer it’s nice they have tables outside too. I gave it 4 stars because it is pricy and they only take cash. I will continue to go back because the food is just that good!

This place is a bit cramped inside but their side walk seating, during the warm weather, is great. My waiter was excellent. I’ve only been here for breakfast but so far the food has been great. The spinach and goat cheese omelet was amazing.

This place has the best omelets that I have ever had in the whole tri-state. Their Andy omelets are the best.

The chopped salads here are great. They serve coffee in all sorts of unusual mugs. Some of their omelettes are really good. Now There is a place nearby that this significantly cheaper with really good coffee and sandwiches that are petite. The café serves large meals probably to justify price. I Find I just do not eat there very much anymore but I would still go there if I have a friend who says let’s eat there. It remains a sentimental favorite. You can’t ever be assured of getting a table unless you go very early. Once you are seated if you’re used to the diner I guess you just feel happy. I like the California omelette the arugula salad, the grilled cheese with tomato, the French toast and pancakes.

I’ll keep it short and sweet… Great triple-decker Turkey Club… Turkey is cut fresh off-the-bird… Bacon cooked perfectly, and some of the greenest lettuce I’ve ever seen… Now for the atmosphere and prices… Very crowded, and stuffy… They cram you in here like sardines… The place is noisy and full of obnoxious stay-at-home mom’s that flaunt there ginormous Louis Vuitton handbags that look more like shopping bags! And for the prices… They only accept cash, and charge almost double the norm for everything. But I guess when you are in the land of the one-percenters, you can get away with highway robbery. The food was good so I’ll afford it 3-Stars… Just be prepared for some sticker-shock when the check arrives.

The chopped salads here are really good, they come with a really nice grilled vegetable. From the negative reviews on Unilocal,I never would’ve stepped foot in the place, but I’m glad that I did. I would definitely eat here again. The food is good. 3.5 stars, but I’m rounding up!

After taking a morning stroll in Scarsdale, we decided to eat at the Parkway Coffee Shop. We noticed that they had a 2 star average, so we actually knew what we were getting into beforehand, but we were too lazy and hungry to search out another spot, so Parkway it was. First and foremost, the food. They offer typical diner fare here, meaning lots of eggs, sandwiches, and salads. You’d think these kinds of dishes would be a slam dunk at a corner diner, but, no, everything was a total misfire. We got an omelette with mushrooms and tomatoes, a Reuben, fries, and 2 coffees, and, to be kind, it was nothing special. Flavorless eggs(saved by the really good hot sauce they had), and a soggy sandwich with overcooked fries. Also, big loss of points for the coffee, which was a monstrosity — basically the equivalent of drinking liquified soot with a dash of misery. Aside from the food, we agreed that pretty much everything else at this place was a calamity, like the service, which was very subpar. While pleasant, the servers were pretty lax and forgetful about some basics. For example, we never got the water we originally asked for, and after being served we had to wait quite a while for silverware and napkins. Shouldn’t that be the first thing we get? It also took forever to get our food, easily 20 minutes. As for cleanliness, this place needs to get some sort of hygienic plan going, because it looked neglected, dirty, and sad. The outdoor table we sat at was incredibly dirty and sticky from previous customers, so much so that 4 out of 5 times that my arm hit the table, I recoiled in horror and grabbed one of my kids wet wipes to get the mystery goo off(Is it ketchup? Is it cream? Is it soda? Who knows!?) They tried to help by wiping it down, but it really needed a deep clean rather than a soiled rag, and unfortunately I don’t think it was in the cards. Also, the bathrooms were absolutely hideous. I’m no manager, but when customers walk in to take a leak and are seeing liquid shit sprayed all over a bowl and seat, it’s probably not so good for repeat business. Perhaps its time to look into fresh cleaning tactics and, in particular, a toilet brush of some sort. Finally, the tab was outrageously expensive, with the total coming to just over $ 40 for a very basic, and poorly executed lunch. Unfortunately the annoyances didn’t end with the check. When I went to pay, I found out they don’t take credit cards, only cash, something that was never disclosed prior to paying the bill. So, as I am ready to take off, I had to take a 10 minute detour and schlep over to the bank to get some loot. What an hassle. In the end, 2 stars is way, WAY too high for these guys. This place is truly one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever dined at in Westchester. It doesn’t even deserve 1 star to be honest.

I’ve been to the Parkway Coffee Shop a few times in the past. I wasn’t anxious to go back, but some friends wanted to go to breakfast there. The booths are cramped. The food is OK, but overpriced. The service is variable. It was satisfactory when we were there, but I have had bad meals there. There are better options out there.

This is hands down my favorite place to eat breakfast or lunch. The other people writing reviews are probably pissed they paid money for a gourmet breakfast and didn’t get special attention during the morning rush when the place is packed. Go eat at Denny’s. Don’t listen to them! The staff is super friendly and funny. The food speaks for itself and is well worth the price. They have the best omelets, pancakes, salads and sandwiches around.

First, what is this café thinking treating it’s customers like this??? People coming to downtown Scaradale for business don’t want this type of service, I can assure you that. I came to Parkside Café on Friday morning on the way to a day-long meeting. I walked in at about 8:40 and, while the waitress acknowledged me, it was 15 minutes before I got my iced tea and I left without getting my blueberry muffin. When I tried my iced tea, it tasted off, as if it had been made with bad tap water or something. I was only able to drink a fee sips before I had to toss it out. What a waste of a nice café space along the train in Scarsdale — Scarsdale is supposed to be the«new» Westchester. This café does nothing to enhance Scarsdale. I recommend that it be replaced with a Financier.
