Lighting Plus

I called up to ask whether or not the store could repair a light. The man on the phone was nasty and rude. He begin chastising me for my question and yelling at me. At that point, I said thank you for your time and he hung up on me. Awful awful awful!

I had a great experience with Lighting Plus. I went in looking for a few lamp shades for wall sconces and brought in a lamp for repair (it was my childhood lamp, which I wanted to re-​wire before putting it in my daughter’s room). They had tons of options for shades. The reason it isn’t 5-​star is that the store is definitely cluttered, it’s not the easiest to find things. I asked the manager for help, and he pulled out some things for me. When I gave him the lamp, he told me the shop was quiet, and if I was in the area, it would be done in about an hour! Which it was. The store could use a bit of a re-​fresh, but their selection and prices are good, and they said if they carry a brand, they can order in anything, even if the store does not stock it.

Awful experience, rude service.
Brought a floor lamp in for a minor fix (bulb socket had to be replaced). The floor lamp had been damaged in a fall. The electrician had left for the day and I was told by the manager/​owner to expect a call tomorrow.
When I called two days later I was rudely reprimanded by the same man.
«Didn’t I tell you we were going to call you? We are trying to find the parts».
Parts? This should have been my first warning.
He called me back nine days after dropping the lamp off and told me he had the parts and it would cost $ 98 to fix. When I asked him about the parts and what had to be fixed he became incensed and yelled at me «I CAN’T TELL YOU THAT ON THE PHONE! IF YOU DON’T WANT ME TO FIX IT, JUST COME PICK IT UP!»
When I picked it up he gave me a problem about not having my receipt (I had clearly just come from the gym). I didn’t even engage him in conversation as he clearly was unstable and I just took the lamp and left. I had a friend of a friend do the repairs for a few bucks.
It amazes me this place is still in business. When I told a few friends about my experience they also had awful things to say about the service.
