Hernan Prada Hair & Dry Bar

Bought a Groupon for this salon at the recommendation of a very good friend. The stylist was very good. Customer service is terrible at this salon. I tried to make 2 appointments and use a special This Salon posted on facebook. I even called the salon after my first attempt failed. I was told… get this.“your email went to my spam”.I then called left a full and complete voice message then I sent an email to make an appointment. 3 days went by. Not a call nor an email did I receive. I decided I should call the owner and let him know how I was treated. Called the salon about a week later left my name and number, I was asked what my call to the owner was in reference to, I told the girl who answered that I want to give a complaint… guess what. never received a call. So now this Unilocal!!! you guys charge a lot of money for poor service. I am happy to spend my money elsewhere and receive a great service both with my hair and otherwise.

Okay, the reason i am giving it below average rating is that even though they convince you that the color is Ammonia free, it does damage your hair much more than regular ammonia hair color! This was my 3^rd time coloring and also the time I have experienced the most damage. Sadly the day my hair was done, it was beautiful, but immediately the next day it was frizzy, dry, obviously damaged as others pointed out as well despite all the conditioning, serum and all the hair care i was doing! I love the color i have but sadly not how my hair looks overall! :(

So wanted to love this place, but I ended up with fried multi colored hair. I have been there three times, my first cut was great, and it want down hill from there. The Keratin treatment was ok on my second visit there but the stylist shattered the ends of my hair, upon my third visit a new stylist said ohh its all the stuff you used before you came here. WRONG my former stylist confirmed it was the cut that shattered my ends and the color was all over the place.

So far I had a great experience here having had Teo as my stylist. He was friendly, patient and very good with my hair. I purchased a Groupon for Balayage which I wanted to be blond. He definitely did 100% and gave me the blond I was looking for. The layer cut was different but I love it! I am hoping that like another reviewer posted, my hair doesn’t come out uneven. I know layers are meant to be somewhat uneven… it just shouldn’t be obvious.
I also decided to wax my eyebrows. Honestly, I was not too happy with it ($ 15) but what choice did I have? As soon as I got home I took my tweezers and fixed it up to my liking. Honestly, like nails, I cannot expect perfect results for myself. I am really picky with my eyebrows and nails. Nothing against the girl who did it at all of course.
They ARE pricey and I am happy I came in with a Groupon. Hoping to go again in the future time. Thanks!

Visited this morning with the Groupon I had purchased. I got the haircut, deep conditioning and diffuse color deal. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the services.
Kiersten was amazing in explaining everything she was going to do to my hair and what to expect. I felt really comfortable with her. As she was finishing my hair I felt good with my decision. My hair looked fuller, the color looked even, beautiful with natural highlights. (Just FYI my hair previous to the visit had uneven colors/​highlights and dry ends– not a good look lol) I had a great experience overall.
Everyone in the salon is really nice! And I definitely will be going back to do balayage.
If you are looking for a natural and beautiful look with no harsh chemicals or dyes then I would recommend this salon to you as well.

A friend of mine went to Hernan Prada Hair with hopes of changing her hair color darker. After a long 3 hour wait, she was finally finished, hoping to see darker hair color then what she had. She looked at herself in the mirror and there was nothing different with the coloring. They spent hours «diffuse coloring» her hair for nothing. When she asked if they could fix it for her, the response was «sometimes it doesn’t work.» After spending much more then what she was expecting for no results most would expect the owner or manager to work with her in findings a solution. Instead the manager told her that she would need to pay to have it done all over again with no guarantee of it working. My friend left in tears, a lot of money spent, and absolutely no change in the color to her hair. I DO NOT SUGGEST THAT ANYONE USE THIS SALON. THEY ARE RUDE AND NEED TO FIGIRE OUT THE PROPER WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS.

I had the worst haircut on a groupon here. Not only did the staff question if I had money or not, I just had to go for a corrective cut because the layers were uneven. Never again.

I have gotten highlights done since I was 17 so I know they are pricey. Hernan makes it worth every penny. They use great environment friendly pregnant friendly products no bleach no harsh chemicals to ruin your hair especially someone who is so blonde like I am you look for things like this. I have never gotten my hair cut so perfect. I highly recommend this salon they make you feel as comfortable and sipping on wine getting pampered doesn’t get any better

I was thrilled to have an appointment at this reknown salon and knew that the cut, color, styling and lash tint and makeup would be second to none. Yes the cut was good, the color was good and no complaint. However, the woman who applied the lash and brow tint was careless beyond belief. She rubbed my eyes so hard that the tint went into both eyes. As i told her my eyes were burning she simply said sorry, it never happened before. Then she started to rub them again at which point i was in severe pain. No one came over to assist. Hernan Prada was himself feet away but stayed away. After many minutes she got some saline pads and applied them. Ten minutes later she said the brow and lashes came out great. However I could barely tolerare opening my eyes. I got up changed and called my husband who picked me up and immediately took me to Urgent Care. Both eyes were badly burned requiring keeping bandages on for 24 hrs and eye medication was applied. My eye orbits were burned as well as the cornea!
The salon was virtually empty yet hernan himself did not bother to find out how i was. No one did. As I left i was told the hair came out great. I was asked whether I wanted makeup. My eyes were slits by then yet no one said a thing.
As mentioned before, the cut good,
the color good but the lack of concern and proper training is enough to keep everyone away.

I just cut a haircut at Hernan Prada Scarsdale this morning and I am very unhappy with the haircut. While the stylist was technically skilled, my hair was cut 3 inches shorter than the photo I showed. I asked for a trim with an inch off and came out with shorter hair that made me feel like I am in 6^th grade all-​over again.
